PM Modi to Inaugurate Hospital in Bhutan During State Visit

New Delhi, March 22 - Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a two-day state visit to Bhutan, where he is set to inaugurate the Gyaltsen Jetsen Pema Maternal and Child Hospital in Thimphu, the capital of the neighboring country. The hospital, a testament to India's support, is a state-of-the-art facility aimed at enhancing healthcare in Bhutan.

Prime Minister Modi's visit underscores the longstanding tradition of close ties between India and Bhutan, with a focus on the Neighbor First Policy. Upon his arrival at Paro Airport, he received a warm welcome from Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, marking the beginning of his official engagements.

During his stay, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to meet with King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and King Jigme Singye Wangchuck, the fourth King of Bhutan, reflecting the depth of the bilateral relationship. Additionally, discussions with Prime Minister Tobgay are expected to cover a wide range of issues aimed at further strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
