PM Modi Emphasizes Youth-led Innovation, Women Entrepreneurship at Startup Mahakumbh

New Delhi, March 20 - Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing the Startup Mahakumbh, highlighted the vibrant landscape of India's startup ecosystem, noting that over 45 percent of Indian startups are led by women. Emphasizing the innovative spirit of the country's youth, he expressed confidence in India's potential to become the world's third-largest economy in his third term.

Speaking at the event held at Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, the Prime Minister commended the organizers for their foresight, despite the impending elections, suggesting they were planning for the next five years. He praised the experimental nature of entrepreneurs, contrasting it with political figures who frequently relaunch themselves.

Modi underlined the significance of the Startup Mahakumbh in the context of India's vision for 2047, highlighting the country's progression from IT and software to a growing trend of innovation and startups. He applauded the shift in mindset among Indian youth, who are now opting to be job creators rather than job seekers.

The Prime Minister credited initiatives like Startup-20 and Digital India for fostering a conducive environment for startups, citing UPI's role in supporting fin-tech startups. He mentioned the inclusion of startups in the G-20 Delhi Declaration and their recognition as engines of development.

Modi also noted the broadening scope of India's startup ecosystem beyond metro cities, citing examples in agriculture, textile, medicine, transport, and even yoga and Ayurveda. He highlighted India's achievements in space technology, with successful test space shuttle launches and progress in over 50 sectors.

The Prime Minister's address at the Startup Mahakumbh underscored India's growing stature in the global startup arena and its commitment to nurturing entrepreneurship and innovation.
