Former JMM MLA Sita Soren Joins BJP, Cites Lack of Respect as Reason

New Delhi, March 19 : In a significant political development, Sita Soren, former Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) MLA and sister-in-law of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday. The induction took place at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, with Jharkhand in-charge Laxmikant Vajpayee and general secretary Vinod Tawde welcoming her into the BJP fold.

Expressing her confidence in Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP President JP Nadda, and Home Minister Amit Shah, Sita Soren highlighted the welfare schemes initiated by the Modi government for the tribal population in Jharkhand. She emphasized the need for accelerated development in Jharkhand and stated, "There is a need for change in Jharkhand."

Sita Soren, who had been associated with the JMM for 14 years, expressed her disillusionment with her former party, stating that she never received the respect she deserved. Feeling neglected and citing an alleged conspiracy against her and her family, she decided to resign from the primary membership of the JMM.

Sita Soren's move to the BJP is expected to have significant implications in Jharkhand's political landscape, particularly as the state gears up for upcoming elections.
