India Post: The Key Driver of Delivering Government Services to Rural India

On the third day of AMRITPEX 2023 - National Philatelic Exhibition at Pragati Maidan, Secretary Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade (DPIIT), Shri Anurag Jain, praised the Department of Posts for adopting technology and linking it with the transformation of the department. In the last eight years, India Post has become a key driver of delivering government services like Aadhaar, passport, pension, insurance, and Jan-Dhan at the doorsteps of rural masses.

Shri Jain pointed out that the Department of Posts took up the challenge of email and technology-based communication with great agility and competence and improved upon its delivery mechanism. He also praised the role of India Post in the implementation of Jan Dhan Yojna.

Secretary Department of Posts, Shri Vineet Pandey, stated that India Post is ready with a large workforce of digital-savvy workers and digital infrastructure to serve the nation. India Post is partnering with different ministries of the Government of India to better implement various schemes and programs, especially in far-flung areas of the country.

More than 2000 school students participated in the third day of AMRITPEX 2023 and engaged in various workshops like storytelling, envelope art with philately stamps, and paper crafts. A Kavi Sammelan was also organized, where leading poets took part, and the day concluded with a mesmerizing performance by Piyush Mishra from Ballimaran Band, which drew a large audience.

The transformation of India Post in the last eight years, with the adoption of technology, has made it a key driver of delivering government services to the rural masses of India.
