A man who travelled to Surat on a moped from Mumbai has been arrested by the Surat Crime Branch for stealing from a mobile shop. The accused came to Surat with his friend.
On the night of March 3rd, they broke the lock of a shop named "Gujarat Mobile" in Kapodra and stole Rs. 20,000 in cash and 54 mobile phones, with a total value of Rs. 29.10 lakh.
Acting on a tip-off, the police apprehended the accused from Kalyan-Ullas Nagar in Mumbai. During questioning, accused confessed to planning the theft with his friend. They had previously stayed at a hotel near Dholapipla in Navsari. The accused also attempted to vandalize a shop in Bardoli but couldn't steal anything due to people being around. The police have recovered the stolen mobile phones and cash from his possession. Further investigation by the police is underway.
