Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel Advocates for Cooperation in Achieving Equality and Social Justice

In a recent address, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel emphasized the transformative power of cooperation in fostering equality, fraternity, and social justice. Speaking at the convention of Dr. BR Ambedkar Co-operative Credit and Supply Societies Federation in Gandhinagar, he highlighted the role of cooperation as a driving force in realizing the ideals set forth by Dr. BR Ambedkar.

Patel commended the cooperative model's success in various sectors in Gujarat, including banking, milk production, sugar, and cotton. He expressed the state government's commitment to supporting individuals and groups engaged in commendable work, emphasizing Gujarat's achievement through cooperative initiatives.

The Chief Minister acknowledged Dr. BR Ambedkar's profound influence on India's economic reforms and societal changes, particularly during the British rule. He noted that while the common man, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds, previously faced challenges in securing loans without guarantors, the scenario has now changed. Patel credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for guaranteeing loans to individuals from all strata of society, thereby empowering small traders and hawkers.

Highlighting initiatives such as Mudra Loan and Swanidhi Scheme, Patel noted their positive impact on small businesses, leading to self-reliance and prosperity. He underscored Gujarat's cooperative movement as an alternative model to socialism and capitalism, rooted in the principle of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas'.

Minister of State for Cooperation Jagdish Vishwakarma also praised Prime Minister Modi's efforts, citing the Khadi campaign's success, which has reached a turnover of Rs 1.25 lakh crore. He highlighted the campaign's impact on the Vankar community's artisan brothers and sisters, illustrating the transformative potential of cooperative initiatives in uplifting marginalized communities.
