A young woman was rescued from attempting suicide by jumping into the Tapi river from Amroli Bridge in Surat on [date]. The timely intervention of a Traffic Brigade constable, Rahul Dayma, and other concerned individuals prevented a potential tragedy.
The incident unfolded when Dayma, along with his team, was on duty near Amroli Old Jakatnaka. Pedestrians alerted Dayma about a girl standing on the bridge, seemingly preparing to jump. It was revealed that the woman was distressed after discovering her long-term boyfriend, whom she believed to be unmarried, was already married and a father. Overcome by emotional turmoil, she attempted to end her life.
Dayma, assisted by others, managed to restrain the woman until help arrived. Fire personnel used a cutter to cut through the bridge's railing, ensuring the woman's safety.
