Gujarat : Mahashivratri Festival Begins with Unveiling of 31 Lakh Rudraksh Shivling in Tiskari, Dharampur
Rudraksha Shivlinga enters Limca Book of Records for the fifth time
The grand festival of Mahashivratri has commenced in Tiskari, near Dharampur, with the unveiling of the 31 lakh Rudraksh Shivling, which stands 31.5 feet tall. This magnificent and divine Rudraksh Shivling is the beginning of the Shivakatha and has been honored by the Limca Book of Records. The creator of this Shivling tradition is the famous Shiva-narrator Shri Batukbhai Vyas, who will be entering the Limca Book of Records for the fifth time with the Tiskari's Rudraksh Shivling.
During the Mahashivratri festival, various activities such as Shivkatha, mass marriage, and blood donation camp will also be held in the presence of Shri Someshwar Mahadev. The festival has officially started today with the grand Potiyatra and unveiling of the Rudraksha Shivling. Bhagavatacharya Pujya Shri Pankajbhai Vyas said that each Rudraksha is Shiva itself, and if 31 lakh Rudrakshas are abhisheked once, 31 lakh Shivlingarchans will be done, thus providing the region with the holy opportunity to abhishek lakhs of Shivlings during the holy season of Mahashivratri.
The night of Mahashivratri is considered the best night of the whole year, and this occasion calls for taking advantage of the darshan and abhishekam of this magnificent and divine Rudraksh Shivling. The Sri Someshwar Mahadev Mahashivratri Festival Committee and the villagers of Tiskari have organized this grand event. Dignitaries including Vice Dandak Vijaybhai Patel, MLA Arvind Patel, District BJP President Hemantbhai Kansara, and others were also present during the opening of the festival.
The events of the Mahashivratri Festival include 11 Kundi Homatika Maharudra Yajna daily at 8.00 am, Shiva Katha daily from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm in the presence of Shri Batukbhai Vyas, Virat Rudraksha Shivalinga Mahaarti daily at 6.00 pm, and many more. The Mahashivratri Night Puja will be held on 18th Feb at 9.00 PM, and the Virat Rudraksha Shivling Darshan-Abhishek will be open from 8.00 AM to 8.00 PM.
