Prime Minister Modi Promises Development Impetus for Tamil Nadu in Tirunelveli Address
Modi Accuses DMK and Congress of Family-Centric Politics, Assures Development for Tamil Nadu
New Delhi - Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing a public gathering in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, emphasized the BJP's commitment to positive politics and development, contrasting it with what he described as the family-centric approach of the DMK and Congress.
Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude for the warm reception, noting that despite speaking in Hindi, the audience understood his message, which, he said, reflected the people's affection for him. He assured the people of Tamil Nadu that development and service initiatives would continue without hindrance.
Critiquing the DMK and Congress, Modi accused them of prioritizing family interests over state development. He highlighted the BJP's focus on progress and accused the DMK of merely renaming and adopting central schemes to claim credit.
Modi also criticized the DMK for walking out of Parliament during discussions on the Ram Temple, alleging disrespect for people's faith. He promised to accelerate development in southern Tamil Nadu, ensuring job opportunities closer to home.
Acknowledging Tamil Nadu's role in national development, Modi pledged to attract more investments to the state. He cited initiatives like Vande Bharat and highlighted infrastructure projects and investments in renewable energy and textiles.
The Prime Minister credited his government for securing the release of Abhinandan Varthaman, former marines from Qatar, and fishermen from Sri Lanka. He also highlighted the appointment of Dalit leader Loganathan Murugan to the Rajya Sabha from Madhya Pradesh, despite BJP's electoral losses in Tamil Nadu.
