Amit Shah Inaugurates Swaminarayan Medical College, Emphasizes Healthcare in Gujarat
Union Home Minister Highlights Government's Healthcare Initiatives and Educational Reforms
Gandhinagar : Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah graced the 30th annual festival organized by Shri Swaminarayan Vishwamangal Gurukul and inaugurated the Swaminarayan Medical College in Kalol, Gandhinagar district. Shah praised the organization for its efforts in promoting devotion, values, and education since the 1960s, emphasizing Swaminarayan's significant impact on Gujarat.
Addressing the audience, Shah commended the organization's dedication to social welfare, including efforts to combat addiction and provide education to underprivileged communities. He highlighted the importance of the newly established medical college and its role in improving healthcare services in Kalol, mentioning the initiation of a special ambulance service for the nearby impoverished populations.
Shah emphasized the government's commitment to healthcare, noting a substantial expansion in medical services under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. He cited the establishment of 23 AIIMS hospitals in the last decade, a significant increase from the 7 built in the preceding 70 years. Shah also highlighted the growth in medical colleges and MBBS seats, indicating a positive trend in medical education.
The Union Home Minister praised the government's efforts to enhance higher education, making institutions like IITs, IIMs, and IISERs globally competitive. He emphasized the new education policy's focus on holistic development and the promotion of cultural and linguistic diversity.
Shah concluded by expressing confidence in India's future, envisioning a prosperous nation led by empowered youth. He applauded the Prime Minister's efforts to showcase Indian culture and language on the global stage and predicted that India would emerge as the world's premier nation.
