Ranchi, 26 February - India secured a decisive victory over England in the fourth Test match in Ranchi, thanks to stellar performances from captain Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, and Dhruv Jurel. Their efforts helped India achieve a five-wicket win and take an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series. Dhruv Jurel's Man of the Match performance, scoring 90 runs in the first innings and an unbeaten 39 in the second, was instrumental in India's triumph.

England won the toss and opted to bat first, posting a total of 353 runs in their first innings. In response, India scored 307 runs, giving England a 46-run lead. England struggled in their second innings, managing only 145 runs, setting India a target of 192 runs to win.

Chasing the target, India got off to a strong start with Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal putting together an 84-run partnership for the first wicket. Although Rohit Sharma scored a half-century, he was dismissed for 55 runs. Subsequent wickets fell quickly, but a resilient partnership of 72 runs between Shubman Gill and Dhruv Jurel guided India to victory. Gill remained unbeaten on 52 runs, while Jurel scored 39 not out.

In England's second innings, Ravichandran Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav wreaked havoc, taking five and four wickets respectively, as England was bowled out for 145 runs. Jack Crawley top-scored with 60 runs, while Jonny Bairstow and Ben Foakes contributed 30 and 17 runs respectively.

Earlier, in India's first innings, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Dhruv Jurel's half-centuries propelled the team to 307 runs. Jurel fell just 10 runs short of a century, scoring 90 runs. Kuldeep Yadav's gritty 28 runs, along with Jurel, rescued India from a precarious position.

Joe Root's unbeaten century (122 runs) and Olly Robinson's half-century (58 runs) were the highlights of England's first innings, where they scored 353 runs. Ravindra Jadeja, Akash Deep, Mohammad Siraj, and Ravichandran Ashwin shared the bowling honors for India.

With this victory, India has taken an unassailable lead in the series, with the fifth and final Test scheduled to be played in Dharamshala from March 7.
