New Delhi, Feb 26 : Former Indian captain Virat Kohli took to social media to praise the Indian cricket team after their thrilling victory in the fourth Test against England, securing an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match series.
Kohli commended the team's fighting spirit, tweeting, "Phenomenal series win by our young team. The team showed grit, determination and resilience."
The victory came courtesy of a well-rounded performance by the Indian team. Openers Rohit Sharma (55) and Shubman Gill (52*) provided a solid start, while young talent Dhruv Jurel shone with a match-winning 90 in the first innings and a crucial 39 not out in the second, earning him the Player of the Match award.
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah also lauded the team's efforts, highlighting the contributions of bowlers Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav, alongside Rohit Sharma's leadership and the consistent batting performances of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill.
