Mumbai, February 26 : Mumbai Airport Customs officials have reported a significant seizure of smuggled gold, nabbing perpetrators in nine separate cases over the past three days. The recovered gold, valued at approximately Rs 4.06 crore (including an iPhone), was cleverly hidden by passengers in creative ways.

A Keen Eye for Hidden Treasure

According to customs sources, their vigilant team has been closely monitoring activities at the airport. This heightened vigilance led to the identification and search of passengers arriving from various countries in nine separate instances over the past three days. Each passenger was found to be concealing gold in unorthodox ways, including within crockery boxes, ingeniously woven into clothing, and even hidden within handbag frames.

Technical Expertise Leads to Apprehensions

Customs officials employed their specialized skills and advanced technology to detect the concealed gold in each case. Investigations are currently underway to identify the masterminds behind these smuggling attempts by questioning the apprehended individuals.
