New Delhi, February 26 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the benefits of a stable government, highlighting a surge in the textile industry's contribution to the Indian economy in the past decade. He inaugurated "Bharat Tex 2024," the largest global textile event hosted by India, emphasizing the sector's role in achieving the vision of a "Global Export Hub."

Celebrating Growth and Collaboration

"Bharat Tex 2024," running for four days across Bharat Mandapam and Yashobhoomi, brings together over 3,000 exhibitors, 3,000 international buyers, and 40,000 trade visitors. Prime Minister Modi hailed the event as a crucial platform for stakeholders across the textile value chain to collaborate and chart the future of the industry.

Government Initiatives and Ambitious Goals

The Prime Minister outlined his government's efforts to propel the textile sector, emphasizing the "five Fs": Farm, Fibre, Factory, Fashion, and Foreign. This strategy focuses on connecting various aspects of the value chain, attracting foreign investment, and promoting sustainable practices. He further highlighted the government's dedication to supporting farmers, including cotton growers, and championing Khadi production, creating employment opportunities and preserving cultural heritage.

Looking Forward to a Sustainable and Self-Reliant Future

Prime Minister Modi expressed his commitment to minimal government intervention while ensuring it caters to the needs of the underprivileged. He emphasized continued efforts towards self-reliance and a developed India, with "Bharat Tex 2024" expected to generate over 50 declarations and memorandums of understanding, fostering trade and investment in the sector.
