Four Killed, Four Injured in Hingoli Road Accident
Speeding Pickup Truck Mows Down Devotees on Their Way to Temple
Hingoli, Maharashtra - A tragic accident unfolded on Saturday morning in Hingoli district, Maharashtra. A speeding pickup truck traveling on the Hingoli-Kanergaon Naka road lost control and struck a group of pedestrians walking to the Hanuman temple in Malhivar village, leaving four dead and four injured.
The devotees, all residents of Sirsam village in Hingoli tehsil, were walking towards the temple for their morning prayers when the incident occurred. The pickup truck, traveling from Hingoli towards Amravati, reportedly swerved off course and collided with the unsuspecting pedestrians from behind.
Four individuals, identified as Manoj Gopalrao Ingle (39), Balaji Baburao Ingle (32), Satish Shankarrao Thorat (27), and Vaibhav Nandu Kamkhede (22), succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The remaining four devotees, Jagan Prahlad Adkine, Uttam Santosh Giri, Santosh Sitaram Vasu, and Prince Bhikaji Ghatolkar, sustained varying degrees of injury and were rushed to Hingoli Civil Hospital for treatment. One critically injured person was transferred to Nanded for further care.
Responding to the accident, police personnel from Hingoli Rural Police Station arrived at the scene alongside villagers who witnessed the incident. Assistant Police Inspector Vijay Ramod confirmed the arrest of the pickup driver. Initial investigations suggest that the driver might have dozed off, leading to the loss of control and the subsequent collision. A thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident.
