PM Modi Launches Cooperative Projects, Calls Cooperation "Authentic Way" to Rejuvenate Rural Economy
New Delhi, Feb 24 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday emphasized the transformative power of cooperation, stating it can "transform a simple system of livelihood into huge industrial capacity." He called cooperation the "authentic way of rejuvenating the country's economy, especially the rural and agricultural economy."
Speaking at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, PM Modi launched various cooperative projects, including 11 PACS storage facilities and laying the foundation stone for 500 more in 11 states. These facilities will be used for distributing food grains across the country.
"Today, the world's largest food storage scheme has been started," the Prime Minister declared. He elaborated that this initiative will result in the construction of warehouses and godowns across the nation, significantly improving the country's agricultural infrastructure. Additionally, the computerization of 18,000 PACS was completed, further integrating modern technology into the agricultural sector.
Union Home Minister and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, who also spoke at the event, highlighted the long-standing demand for a dedicated ministry for the cooperative sector. He commended the current government, led by PM Modi, for establishing the Ministry of Cooperation, which previous administrations had failed to do.
