Prime Minister Modi Inaugurates and Lays Foundation Stones for Rs 13,500 Crore Development Projects in Mehsana
Gujarat witnesses major infrastructure boost with focus on connectivity, healthcare, and defense
Mehsana, Gujarat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Mehsana on Thursday to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development projects worth over Rs 13,500 crore. The event coincided with the "Shri Valinath Mahadev Swarn Shikhar Pran Pratishtha Mahotsav" celebrations in Tarbh village.
Boosting Connectivity and Infrastructure:
- BharatNet Phase-II: The Prime Minister inaugurated the Gujarat Fiber Grid Network Limited project under BharatNet Phase-II, bringing high-speed internet to over 8,000 gram panchayats in the state.
- Railway Projects: Five railway projects worth over Rs 2,300 crore were inaugurated, along with the laying of foundation stones for Water Resources Department projects exceeding Rs 1,200 crore.
- Road Network Expansion: The Road and Building Department witnessed the inauguration of various development works valued at more than Rs 1,700 crore.
- Strategic Defense Infrastructure: The strategically important runway of Air Force Station Deesa, built at a cost of Rs 394 crore, was inaugurated.
Additional Project Highlights:
- Foundation stones were laid for projects under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Highway Authority of India, and Ministry of Energy, totaling over Rs 5,400 crore.
- The Urban Development Department saw the inauguration and foundation stone laying of nine projects worth Rs 507 crore.
- The IMD-Tourism Department and Social Justice and Empowerment Department also witnessed project inaugurations and foundation stone laying ceremonies.
Gujarat Government's Commitment to Development:
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel emphasized the state government's commitment to making North Gujarat a thriving region. He highlighted various initiatives like the newly inaugurated airstrip near Deesa and the ongoing development work at the Rinchadia Mahadev temple in Ambaji.
The event marked a significant step forward in Gujarat's development journey, with a focus on improving connectivity, infrastructure, healthcare, and strategic defense capabilities.
