Surat : PM Modi Unveils Development Projects Worth Rs 44,216 Crore in South Gujarat

Surat - Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone of several development projects worth more than Rs 44,216 crore at an event held in Vansi Borsi, near Navsari in south Gujarat. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of preserving India's heritage alongside development and praised the rich cultural legacy of the region.

The Prime Minister highlighted the government's commitment to empowering the poor, farmers, youth, and women of the country. He reiterated his guarantee to fulfill the promises made to the people, emphasizing that his guarantee extends beyond mere schemes to ensuring their effective implementation for the benefit of those deserving.

Taking a swipe at the opposition, the Prime Minister mentioned the ongoing criticism and abuse directed at him, stating that such attacks only strengthen his resolve and the support of the people. He criticized the lack of a development agenda among his detractors and highlighted his government's focus on development and progress.

Referring to his tenure as Chief Minister, the Prime Minister recalled the 'Five F's' strategy - from form to fiber, fiber to factory, factory to fashion, and fashion to foreign - emphasizing the importance of value addition and export promotion. He highlighted the growth of Surat as a hub for textiles and expressed confidence that Navsari would follow suit.

Among the projects inaugurated, the PM Mitra Park, with an investment of Rs 3,000 crore, was highlighted as a game-changer for the region, providing housing, logistics, health, and skill development facilities. The Tapi River Barrage, costing over Rs 800 crore, was laid to address water supply issues and aid in disaster recovery in Surat.

The Prime Minister also mentioned the PM Suryaghar Yojana, aimed at reducing energy bills and generating income for households. He noted the upcoming bullet train project that will connect Mumbai and Surat, emphasizing the region's importance as an industrial center.

PM Modi highlighted the success of the Digital India initiative, noting its transformative impact on small towns. He praised the progress made in tribal and coastal villages, citing them as examples of the government's commitment to ensuring basic facilities for all.
