Raja Krishnamurthy in 'Chicago' Magazine's List of Influential Chicagoans

Indian-American MP Raja Krishnamurthy has secured a historic position in 'Chicago' magazine's esteemed list of 50 most influential Chicagoans. Krishnamurthy, aged 50, has clinched the 24th spot, marking the first time an individual of South Asian descent has attained such a high rank in the list's history.

The magazine, based in the largest city of Illinois, USA, unveiled the rankings on its website. Topping the list is Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, followed by Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson. Krishnamurthy's inclusion in the list is particularly noteworthy as he is poised to enter the US Parliament elections in 2026.

According to 'Chicago', Krishnamurthy has amassed a campaign fund totaling US$14.4 million, a figure surpassing that of any Illinois congressional representative by more than threefold. Described as "extremely influential" by a political consultant, Krishnamurthy reportedly donated $460,000 to Democratic candidates and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in 2022. He is actively fundraising for his Senate campaign in 2026.
