Auto Driver Murdered in Jodhpur, Hunt On for Killers

Jodhpur : An auto driver, Harish Lohar, was brutally stoned to death by unidentified assailants near Jodhpur on Monday night. The incident, believed to be a robbery attempt gone wrong, has sparked outrage and sent police on a manhunt for the culprits.

According to reports, Harish was transporting a passenger, Sunil Gupta, to Sajada Dham when he was accosted by miscreants traveling in a car and a bike. After initially asking directions, the attackers pursued Harish, eventually throwing a large stone at his head. The blow caused Harish to lose control of the auto, crashing into a tree. The assailants continued their assault with the stone, fatally injuring the driver.

Passenger Sunil Gupta sustained a head injury in the crash and managed to flee the scene, later alerting the police. Despite forming search teams and scrutinizing CCTV footage, authorities have yet to identify or apprehend the suspects.

The auto driver's union has expressed strong condemnation of the crime, staging protests and demanding swift action from the police. The motive behind the attack remains unclear, with robbery and personal enmity being investigated.
