Marking the beginning of their journey, these aspiring queens paid their respects at Mahatma Gandhi's mausoleum, Rajghat, symbolizing the event's celebration of diversity and empowerment.

This year's pageant, hosted by India after a 28-year hiatus, promises to be a spectacular affair. Miss World Organization Chairman and CEO Julia Morley CBE joined the delegates at Rajghat, paying homage to the Father of the Nation. Miss World's official social media handles recently announced, "A celebration of beauty, diversity and empowerment awaits. The 71st Miss World final will be telecast live on March 9 from 7:30 pm to 10:30 pm from Jio World Convention Centre, Mumbai."

The competition unfolds across stunning venues like the G-20 site and Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, culminating in the grand finale at the glittering Jio World Convention Center in Mumbai. Today, the pageant officially kicks off with "The Opening Ceremony" and "India Welcomes the World Gala" hosted at Hotel Ashok, New Delhi.

India boasts a rich Miss World legacy, with five crowns adorning its history. Aishwarya Rai (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999), Priyanka Chopra (2000), and Manushi Chhillar (2017) all etched their names in the pageant's history. With the reigning Miss World, Karolina Bielawska of Poland, due to crown her successor on March 9th, all eyes are on the delegates vying for the coveted title.
