Vaibhav Suryavanshi, a young batsman from Rajasthan Royals, stunned the cricket world with a blistering 78 runs off just 26 balls against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). In this innings, he hit 8 fours and 7 sixes, fearlessly playing shots against swing specialist Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Australian star Josh Hazlewood.

Thanks to Vaibhav's aggressive batting and Dhruv Jurel's composed 81 runs, Rajasthan achieved the massive target of 202 runs in just 18 overs. Earlier, in a match against Mumbai Indians, Vaibhav had also showcased his talent by hitting two sixes off the world’s number one bowler Jasprit Bumrah in a single over. After being named 'Player of the Match' for his outstanding performance, Vaibhav shared the secret to his success.

When asked if he felt scared facing such big bowlers, he humbly stated that he tries to focus on playing the ball rather than the bowler's name. Vaibhav mentioned that he relies on his strength and practice. Although he is aware of who the bowler is, once he reaches the crease, his entire focus is on the direction and speed of the ball, which helps him play fearlessly.

Despite scoring 78 runs, Vaibhav appeared slightly disappointed upon getting out, as he wanted to return only after leading his team to victory. He credited his mature thinking to the guidance of his father and local mentor Romi Sir. Vaibhav noted that his coach always reminds him that the journey is long and he should focus solely on his game and discipline.

This sense of responsibility reflects why he has emerged as one of the most talked-about young players in this season of IPL. Rajasthan's victory has further strengthened their position in the points table.

Showing remarkable composure, Suryavanshi seemed unaffected by the magnitude of the occasion as he stunned the IPL with his blistering century against Gujarat Titans.

In just his third IPL match, Suryavanshi scored a sensational 101 runs off 38 balls, smashing 11 sixes and seven fours, becoming the youngest-ever centurion in T20 cricket history. In his debut match against Lucknow Super Giants, he had already made an impression by scoring 34 runs off 20 balls and hitting a six off his very first delivery.

As per agency report, speaking to the IPLT20 website after Rajasthan Royals’ win over Gujarat Titans on Monday night, Suryavanshi said that hitting a six off the first ball felt natural to him. He explained that having played for India’s Under-19 team and at the domestic level, he had already developed the habit of attacking from the start without feeling pressured by the first few deliveries.

He mentioned that although he was facing international bowlers and performing on a big stage, he remained focused solely on his game plan — if the ball was in his hitting zone, he would go for the shot without hesitation.

Born in Samastipur, Bihar, three years after the IPL’s inception, Suryavanshi credited his parents, Sanjeev and Arti, for his achievements. He expressed deep gratitude, revealing how his mother manages with just three hours of sleep daily to support his intense practice routine, and how his father left his job to dedicate himself entirely to nurturing Suryavanshi’s cricketing career. His elder brother now manages the family's responsibilities, allowing Suryavanshi to pursue his dream.

He reflected on their sacrifices, stating that hard work, guided by divine support, never goes unrewarded, and attributed his success to his parents’ unwavering dedication.

Despite being in the spotlight at such a young age, Suryavanshi remains grounded, emphasizing that his ultimate goal is to play for India. He pledged to continue working hard until he reaches the highest level and aspires to perform well for the country in the future.

Suryavanshi, at just 14 years and 32 days old, became the youngest centurion in Indian Premier League (IPL) history after scoring a blistering 101 runs off 38 balls on Monday.

The left-handed batsman dazzled with a stunning display against seasoned international bowlers such as Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna, Washington Sundar, and Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan and Karim Janat. Suryavanshi smashed 11 sixes and seven fours, playing a key role in Rajasthan Royals’ eight-wicket victory.

Speaking to reporters after the match, Rathour said that the team had seen glimpses of Suryavanshi’s capabilities in the nets over the past few months. As per agency report, he praised the youngster for delivering such a remarkable performance under pressure against a strong bowling attack in a packed stadium.

Rathour emphasized that Suryavanshi’s technique and shot selection were impressive, and Monday’s innings showcased his immense batting potential. He noted that discovering Suryavanshi four months ago during trials had made it clear that they had found someone special, and the responsibility now lies in nurturing his talent carefully.

He expressed optimism about Suryavanshi’s future, stating that if the youngster continues to work hard and stay grounded, he has the potential to represent India at the highest level for a long time. However, Rathour cautioned against premature comparisons with legends like Sachin Tendulkar, who made his debut for India at the age of 16, calling it inappropriate to burden a young player with such expectations.

Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans' batsman Sai Sudharsan also praised Suryavanshi’s outstanding knock. He acknowledged that while they had initially thought they had set a challenging total, Suryavanshi’s explosive start and fearless batting proved them wrong and suggested they could have aimed for an even higher score.

Suryavanshi’s incredible performance has not only set a new IPL milestone but has also sparked hopes for the emergence of a future star in Indian cricket.
