New Delhi, India - Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the 246 km Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway to the nation on 12th February 2023. The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for 247 km of National Highway projects that will be developed at a cost of over Rs 5940 crore.

In his address, the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of building world-class expressways and road infrastructure as a key driver of growth, development and connectivity in the New India. He expressed pride in dedicating the first phase of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, one of the most advanced expressways in the world, to the nation.

The Prime Minister underlined the Central Government's continuous efforts in investing in infrastructure over the past 9 years, with investments worth over 50,000 crores made in highways in Rajasthan alone. The allocation for infrastructure in this year's budget has been increased to 10 lakh crores, five times more than in 2014.

He emphasized that investments in highways, railways, ports, airports, digital connectivity, construction of pucca houses and colleges will empower every section of the society and boost economic activities. The Prime Minister informed that the travel time between Delhi and Jaipur will be reduced with the construction of the Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section of the Expressway. He also highlighted the establishment of Grameen Haats along the Expressway, which will benefit local farmers and artisans.

The Prime Minister underlined the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor as two strong pillars of progress for Rajasthan and the country. He noted that these projects will strengthen the Mumbai-Delhi Economic Corridor and connect many regions of Rajasthan, Haryana and Western India with ports, creating new opportunities for logistics, storage, transport and other industries.

The Prime Minister also informed that arrangements have been made to lay optical fiber, electricity lines and gas pipelines along the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, and the leftover land will be used for producing solar energy as well as warehousing purposes. He concluded his address with a reiteration of the government's mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' for Rajasthan and the country and its commitment to making India a competent, capable and prosperous nation.
