Bikaner, May 22 — Referring to India’s military response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday declared that those who sought to "wipe out the vermilion" of Indian women were themselves reduced to dust. He described the retaliatory military operation as “Operation Sindoor,” a powerful symbol of India’s strength and resolve against terrorism.

As per agency report, Modi was addressing a public gathering in Palana, near Deshnok, during his visit to Rajasthan. He emphasized that the Indian armed forces, following the Pahalgam attack in April that claimed 26 lives, were given complete operational freedom. What followed, he said, was a precise and forceful retaliation that destroyed key terrorist infrastructure within minutes.

The Prime Minister stated that the 22-minute operation resulted in the demolition of nine major terror hideouts across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). He added that India’s response was not merely driven by rage but was a new form of justice, reflecting a powerful and self-reliant India.

During his address, Modi asserted that India is no longer intimidated by threats of nuclear weapons and made it clear that there would be no trade or dialogue with Pakistan. The only subject for discussion, he said, would be Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. He also underlined a new three-pronged doctrine to combat terrorism: firm retaliation to any attack, no tolerance for nuclear intimidation, and treating terror groups and their state sponsors as one and the same.

Modi said the world, and India's enemies, had now witnessed what happens when “sindoor turns into firepower.” He noted that this was not about vengeance but about justice delivered through Indian strength.

The Prime Minister also touched upon the broader geopolitical implications of the operation, noting that Pakistan, having failed in direct wars against India, had long relied on terrorism as a proxy weapon. He warned that every terrorist attack now would come at a steep cost—borne by the Pakistani military and its fragile economy.

Jaipur, April 26 – The closure of the Attari-Wagah border following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, has disrupted the wedding plans of a young man from Rajasthan’s border district of Barmer. The groom, who had reached the border crossing with his family, was turned back by authorities citing heightened security concerns.

Shaitan Singh, a 25-year-old resident of Indroi village in Barmer, was scheduled to marry Kesar Kanwar, a 21-year-old woman from Umarkot district in Pakistan’s Sindh province, on April 30. After extensive preparations, Singh and his family had traveled to the Attari-Wagah border, only to find that their plans were halted due to the border's closure following increased tensions.

As per agency report, authorities at the border denied them entry, citing the suspension of cross-border movement in the aftermath of the attack in Pahalgam. Singh had been engaged to Kesar Kanwar for four years, and after persistent efforts, visas were finally granted to him, his father, and his brother earlier this year on February 18.

The family set out for the Attari border on April 23 and reached a day later, but by April 24, the escalating tensions led to the suspension of border crossings. Speaking about the situation, Singh said, "We had waited a long time for this day. What the terrorists did was wrong. My wedding was supposed to happen, but now we are not allowed to cross. What can we do? It is a matter of the border."

Although their visas remain valid until May 12, the family is now holding onto the hope that the border might reopen within this period, allowing the marriage to take place.

Surendra Singh, a cousin of Shaitan Singh, shared that the current situation has deeply disappointed both families. He added that relatives from Pakistan who had come for the wedding also had to return, lamenting that terrorist incidents cause immense damage, harming relationships and halting cross-border movements.

Shaitan Singh’s marriage was arranged through familial ties, a common tradition among the Sodha Rajput community, which maintains strong cultural links across the India-Pakistan border. A significant population of Sodha Rajputs resides in Pakistan’s Sindh province, and it is customary among them to arrange marriages within the community to preserve their cultural heritage.

For now, Shaitan Singh and his family remain hopeful that conditions will improve, and they will still be able to travel across the border to celebrate the long-awaited union.

Jaipur, April 22 – United States Vice President JD Vance, along with his wife Usha Vance and their children, visited the iconic Amer Fort in Jaipur on Tuesday morning as part of their official trip to India. A devastating road accident in Rajasthan's Abu Road area claimed the lives of six people early Thursday morning, while a woman sustained injuries, as per agency reports.

The accident occurred around 3 AM near Kivarli village in Sirohi district when a speeding car collided with a trailer truck. According to Mount Abu’s Circle Officer Goma Ram, the victims were residents of a village in Jalore district and were returning from Ahmedabad when their vehicle crashed into the truck.

Four of the passengers died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. One woman is currently receiving medical treatment.

The deceased have been identified as Narayan Prajapat, his wife Poshi Devi, their son Dushyant, driver Kaluram, his son Yashram, and another passenger, Jaideep. Authorities are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident while ensuring necessary assistance to the affected families.

Bikaner, March 2: A devastating road accident on National Highway NH-11 (Jaisalmer Road) in Bikaner's Nal police station area late Saturday night resulted in the deaths of four young men. The incident occurred when a speeding Scorpio crashed into two motorcycles from behind. The impact was so severe that three victims died on the spot, while the fourth succumbed to injuries during treatment at the hospital.

According to police officials, the victims were returning home after working at a wedding event. Around 2 AM, as they were heading towards Nal Badi village, a high-speed Scorpio collided with their motorcycles, causing extensive damage. The intensity of the crash was such that the front wheels of the Scorpio detached, and both motorcycles were completely wrecked.

Nal Police Station in-charge Vikas Vishnoi confirmed the identities of the deceased as Omprakash (29), son of Gangaram; Rahul (25), son of Choruram; Kojuram alias Shyamlal (18), son of Birju Ram; and Gordhan (30), son of Choruram. As per agency report, the police have handed over the bodies to the families after post-mortem and have launched a search for the Scorpio driver, who fled the scene after the crash.

The funeral for the four victims took place on Sunday afternoon in Nal village, where hundreds of grieving villagers and relatives gathered to pay their last respects. Local MLA Vishwanath Meghwal visited the PBM Hospital mortuary to console the bereaved families. Meanwhile, police have intensified their investigation and are making efforts to apprehend the absconding driver.

Jaipur, February 19 – A tragic accident occurred in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district, where junior national gold medalist powerlifter Yashtika Acharya lost her life during a training session on Tuesday evening. The 17-year-old athlete was practicing at a local gym when a 270 kg barbell fell on her neck, causing fatal injuries.

According to Station House Officer Vikram Tiwari, Yashtika was undergoing weightlifting training when the heavy barbell slipped and crushed her neck, leading to an instant fatal injury. Despite immediate medical attention, she was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

The accident took place while Yashtika’s coach was supervising her practice. Reports indicate that the coach also sustained minor injuries during the incident. The family has not filed any official complaint, and after a post-mortem examination, Yashtika’s body was handed over to her relatives.

Authorities have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine if any safety lapses contributed to the incident.

Kota (Rajasthan), February 13 – A tragic accident occurred on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway early Thursday morning when a bus carrying 57 pilgrims returning from Mahakumbh collided with a stationary truck. The crash resulted in the deaths of three people, while two others sustained injuries, according to police reports.

The pilgrims were traveling from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, where they had participated in the Mahakumbh, and were heading back to Mandsaur, Madhya Pradesh when the accident took place near Karodia village in Kota district.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Hariraj Singh stated that the bus rammed into a parked truck around 6:30 AM. The deceased were identified as Kishorilal (60), his wife Kailashibai (54), and another passenger named Ashok, all residents of Madhya Pradesh.

The two injured passengers, Chamanlal and Parvati, were rushed to MBS Hospital in Kota, where they are receiving treatment. The remaining passengers were reported to be safe.

Initial investigations suggest that the driver might have dozed off at the wheel, leading to the accident. Following the collision, the driver fled the scene, and authorities have launched a search operation to locate him.

The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination, and further investigations into the incident are underway.

Jaipur, December 20 – A catastrophic accident in Jaipur's Bhankrota area early Friday morning resulted in a devastating fire after an LPG tanker collided with a truck, engulfing over 30 vehicles in flames. The tragedy claimed the lives of eight people, including two children, and left 35 others injured, with many in critical condition, officials confirmed.

Video footage from the scene showed people fleeing for their lives, with some attempting to extinguish flames on their burning clothes. The fire was so intense that it turned the highway into a raging inferno, with smoke visible from over a kilometer away.

Jaipur, December 12 – A five-year-old boy named Aryan tragically lost his life after falling into a 150-foot-deep borewell in Dausa district, Rajasthan. Despite a relentless 55-hour-long rescue operation, Aryan could not be saved.

Late Wednesday night, rescuers managed to pull Aryan out of the borewell in an unconscious state. He was immediately transported to the district hospital in an advanced life-support ambulance. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival.

Police Statement “The child was rushed to the hospital with all possible medical support, but he had already succumbed. Doctors confirmed his death,” said a police official.

The Incident The incident occurred on Monday afternoon in the Paparda police station area of Dausa district. Aryan accidentally fell into an open borewell while playing in a field, sparking an extensive rescue effort involving local authorities, police, and rescue teams.

Jaipur, December 11 – Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma demonstrated quick action and compassion when his convoy was involved in an accident on Wednesday in the Jagatpura area of Jaipur. The incident left five police personnel and two tourists injured.

According to police, a speeding taxi coming from the wrong direction collided with a security vehicle in the Chief Minister’s convoy, leading to the mishap. Another vehicle also struck the security car while attempting to avoid the accident. 

Ramnagariya Station Officer Arun Kumar said, "The Chief Minister’s convoy was moving normally on Jagatpura Road when a taxi from the wrong direction hit one of the security vehicles. Another taxi collided with the divider while trying to avoid the crash."

In a swift response, CM Sharma stopped his car and personally ensured that one of the critically injured victims was taken to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in his vehicle. "The Chief Minister decided not to wait for an ambulance and took the seriously injured person in his car to the hospital," Kumar added. Another injured individual with minor injuries was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Five police officers and two tourists sustained injuries in the accident. The Chief Minister later visited the hospital to check on the injured and ensured they received proper care.

The mishap occurred near the NRI Circle close to the Akshaya Patra Temple as CM Sharma was en route to a scheduled event. Despite the incident, the convoy had not disrupted traffic on the road.

The CM’s prompt action was praised for prioritizing the safety and well-being of those injured in the accident. The police have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the accident.
