Jaipur, December 11 – Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma demonstrated quick action and compassion when his convoy was involved in an accident on Wednesday in the Jagatpura area of Jaipur. The incident left five police personnel and two tourists injured.

According to police, a speeding taxi coming from the wrong direction collided with a security vehicle in the Chief Minister’s convoy, leading to the mishap. Another vehicle also struck the security car while attempting to avoid the accident. 

Ramnagariya Station Officer Arun Kumar said, "The Chief Minister’s convoy was moving normally on Jagatpura Road when a taxi from the wrong direction hit one of the security vehicles. Another taxi collided with the divider while trying to avoid the crash."

In a swift response, CM Sharma stopped his car and personally ensured that one of the critically injured victims was taken to Mahatma Gandhi Hospital in his vehicle. "The Chief Minister decided not to wait for an ambulance and took the seriously injured person in his car to the hospital," Kumar added. Another injured individual with minor injuries was rushed to a nearby hospital.

Five police officers and two tourists sustained injuries in the accident. The Chief Minister later visited the hospital to check on the injured and ensured they received proper care.

The mishap occurred near the NRI Circle close to the Akshaya Patra Temple as CM Sharma was en route to a scheduled event. Despite the incident, the convoy had not disrupted traffic on the road.

The CM’s prompt action was praised for prioritizing the safety and well-being of those injured in the accident. The police have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the accident.

Jaipur, December 8: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has described the 'Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit' as more than just an event, calling it the cornerstone of the state’s industrial prosperity.

Speaking to members of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) National Council on Sunday, Sharma emphasized the immense investment opportunities in Rajasthan across various sectors, including minerals, natural gas, tourism, education, healthcare, and automobiles.

He acknowledged the pivotal role of CII in organizing the summit, stating that the organization has acted as a vital bridge between investors and the state government.

The three-day summit, set to commence on December 9, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event will witness participation from 32 countries, including 17 partner nations.

Prominent industrialists such as Kumar Mangalam Birla, Anil Agarwal, Gautam Adani, Anand Mahindra, Sanjiv Puri, and Ajay S. Shriram are expected to attend, further bolstering the summit’s significance.

The 'Rising Rajasthan' summit aims to establish the state as a hub for sustainable and inclusive industrial growth, leveraging its strategic advantages and resources to attract global investments.

Jaipur, Dec 21 (IANS) The much-awaited Cabinet expansion exercise has intensified in Rajasthan as Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has gone to the national Capital with both of his Deputy Chief Ministers Diya Kumari and Premchand Bairwa.

Sharma reached Parliament House on Thursday morning with Bairwa.

Names of would be-Cabinet ministers may be approved after his meeting with senior BJP leaders and party sources said that Sharma may expand his Cabinet this week.

On Thursday, Sharma might meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda and it is possible that the names of the Cabinet ministers would be finalised then.

Sources said that a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi can also be planned for Thursday.

New people may get a chance to be a part of the Rajasthan Cabinet and it is believed that instead of senior members in the Cabinet, those MLAs who have never become ministers till now may be given a chance.

Though some senior MLAs would also be made ministers, their number would not be much.

Jaipur, Dec 20 (IANS) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma's vehicle met with a minor accident after his car got stuck in a drain.

The incident occurred on Tuesday when the Chief Minister was en route to a temple located in Govardhan in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura along with his wife. The officials immediately changed the car and the CM and his wife were taken in a different car later. There was no news of any untoward incident.

Sharma reached his native town Bharatpur on Tuesday for the first time after becoming the CM. He met the local workers here. Late evening, he left Bharatpur with his wife Geeta Sharma to visit Govardhan ji in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura.

Before entering Govardhan, the CM halted at the Puchri ka Lota temple, which is situated near the Rajasthan border. He reached the temple at around 8.15 p.m. While taking a turn here, the wheel of the car got stuck in a drain. CM was sitting on the same side. Part of the vehicle tilted from the side where Sharma was sitting and the vehicle stopped. Police officials said, “No one was injured. CM is safe. He has been sent in another car.”

The CM and his wife boarded another car from the accident site and had 'darshan' of Shrinathji at Puchri ka Lota in Govardhan. After this he also offered prayers at Dauji Maharaj temple and Giriraj foothills.

Before becoming the Chief Minister, he had been coming here every year. In Puchri ka Lota, he has been setting up a 'payu' there on the festival of 'Moodia Poono'. He himself used to offer water to people. After visiting all temples here, he left for Jaipur with his wife at around 9.30 pm.

Earlier, when CM Bhajan Lal reached his home district for the first time on Tuesday, he was warmly welcomed by the people. He met his family after reaching his house.

Jaipur, Dec 13 (IANS) Rajasthan Chief Minister-designate Bhajanlal Sharma will take oath as the 14th Chief Minister of Rajasthan on December 15.

Rajasthan BJP has sent invitations to Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers of BJP ruled states for the swearing-in ceremony.

The swearing-in ceremony will take place outside Albert Hall in Jaipur.

On Wednesday, CM-designate Bhajanlal Sharma visited Sanga Baba temple in Sanganer while the Deputy Chief Minister-designate Diya Kumari paid her obeisance at Aaradhya Govinddev in Jaipur.

The Chief Minister-designate Bhajan Lal has not yet revealed the list of possible cabinet ministers.

After a meeting of the legislature party, Bhajan Lal, also met the Governor to stake claim to form the government.

“Together with all the BJP leaders, we will do all-round development of Rajasthan,” he said.

Jaipur, Dec 12 (IANS) The suspense regarding the new Chief Minister of Rajasthan is now over as Bhajan Lal Sharma, a first time MLA who stood from the Sanganer seat, is the BJP’s choice for the top job. The party has named Diya Kumari and Premchand Bairwa as the two deputy CMs of Rajasthan.

The observers from Delhi settled on Bhajan Lal Sharma after the meeting of the legislature party.

Sharma, a resident of Bharatpur, has been part of the ABVP, RSS and the BJP for a long time and he has served as the General Secretary in Rajasthan four times under different state Presidents.

The BJP made him contest elections for the first time from a safe seat like Sanganer after cutting the ticket of sitting MLA Ashok Lahoti and this will be his first time in the CM’s seat.

The Sanganer seat is the stronghold of the BJP and Bhajan Lal Sharma won because of this. In view of his long stint in the organization in Rajasthan, he has been given the top job now.

The BJP high command had made Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Vinod Tawde and Saroj Pandey as observers for Rajasthan and the three leaders reached Jaipur this afternoon and held a meeting with the MLAs.

Union Minister Rajnath Singh also had a one-on-one meeting with Vasundhara Raje and spoke to BJP National President JP Nadda on phone.

Before the party settled upon Bhajan Lal Sharma as the CM-elect, there were many names doing the rounds and Raje was the front runner for the top job.

Jaipur, Dec 12 (IANS) In another surprise move, the BJP on Tuesday named first-time MLA Bhajan Lal Sharma (56) as the next Chief Minister of Rajasthan.

Sharma, who was elected from Sanganer in Jaipur district in the November 25 Assembly elections, has been an office-bearer in the BJP state unit.

There will be also be two Deputy Chief Ministers in the state - former MP Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa, while Vasudev Devnani has been appointed as the Assembly Speaker.

Diya Kumari, who was the MP from Rajsamand, contested the Assembly elections from Vidhyadhar Nagar, while Bairwa was elected as MLA from Dudu.

The names were finalised at the legislative party meeting held nine days after the election results were declared on December 3.

Being a resident of Bharatpur, some people had branded Sharma as an 'outsider' in Sanganer before the elections. However, he won by a huge margin, defeating Pushpendra Bhardwaj of the Congress by 48,081 votes.

Sharma, who is considered close to both the party organisation and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), has been the state general secretary under four sate BJP Presidnets -- Ashok Parnami, Madan Lal Saini, Satish Poonia and C.P. Joshi.

On Monday, the BJP had named a surprise pick as the new Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh - Mohan Yadav (58), a leader from the Yadav OBC community.
