Kochi, 4 June (H.S): On Friday morning, a special Air Force aircraft departed from Kuwait carrying the mortal remains of 45 Indians who tragically lost their lives in a devastating fire on June 12. The aircraft will first land in Kerala's Kochi, where ambulances are on standby to receive the victims, before flying to Delhi. union Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh, who had rushed to Kuwait to coordinate with authorities for the swift repatriation of the victims, will also be returning on the same aircraft.

The Indian embassy in Kuwait confirmed that there were 176 Indian workers in the six-storey building where the fire broke out, and unfortunately, 45 of them lost their lives while 33 were hospitalized. The victims hailed from various states including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar, Punjab, Karnataka, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Haryana. This tragic incident highlights the importance of proper safety measures and precautions to prevent such disasters from occurring in the future.

Delhi, 13 June (H.S): The Ministry of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, will be travelling to Kuwait to personally oversee the relief measures and ensure the speedy repatriation of the mortal remains of the Indian workers who tragically lost their lives in a fire incident that occurred on Wednesday. The decision for this visit was made after an urgent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, where Singh expressed India's sympathy for the victims and their families.

The Indian government has also announced ex-gratia relief of Rs 2 lakh from the PM Relief Fund to the families of those who lost their lives. This visit reflects India's commitment to its citizens and its dedication to providing support during times of crisis. MoS Singh's presence in Kuwait will not only provide much-needed assistance to the affected families but also send a strong message of solidarity and support from the Indian government.

Kuwait, 12 June (HS): At least 41 people, including 10 Indians were killed in a blaze that engulfed a building housing workers in the city of Mangaf in southern Kuwait. The incident was reported to authorities at 6 am (local time) on Wednesday.

A large number of workers were living in the building. Many of them were rescued. Kuwaiti Health Ministry said about 43 people were hospitalised due to burn injuries. The blaze broke out in the kitchen on a lower floor and quickly spread through the building. Many were trapped on the upper floors.

Kuwait's Deputy Prime Minister said that 41 people were killed in the incident.

Foreign Affairs Minister S Jaishankar expressed shock over the incident. The details of the incident are awaited. Indian Ambassador has left for the accident spot, he said. The Indian Embassy has released a helpline number 965-65505246.

A senior officer Major General Eid Rashed Hamad said the rooms were overcrowded. Several workers were living in one room to save money.

Thiruvananthapuram, Oct 31 (IANS) Two nurses from Kerala who were working in Kuwait have been deported for putting up a social media post in support of Israel.

Union Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan on Tuesday said that one Malayalee nurse has already been deported. 

"While one nurse has already been deported, another Malayalee nurse has been given the deportation order. We have asked the Indian Embassy in Kuwait to give her all the necessary assistance," said Muraleedharan. 

He also pointed out that plans are underway to bring out a directive on social media posts for all Indians to ensure that they follow the guidelines of the respective countries.
