Amidst their professional commitments, Katrina recently shared an amusing anecdote about how Vicky reacts when she holds brand meetings at home.

As per agency report, Katrina was recently honored at a Forbes India event for her contributions to the beauty industry. During the event, she was asked about her daily involvement in her company and how she manages work from home. Laughing, Katrina revealed that most of her brand’s important meetings take place at home. She jokingly shared that whenever she informs Vicky about a scheduled meeting, he immediately responds by saying, "That means you want me to stay out of the house all day!"

New Delhi, February 22: Actor Vicky Kaushal has expressed his gratitude after Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised his historical action drama film 'Chhava', calling the acknowledgment a huge honor.

During the inauguration ceremony of the 98th All India Marathi Literary Conference (ABMSSC), PM Modi highlighted Maharashtra's contribution to both Marathi and Hindi cinema, stating, "And these days, 'Chhava' is creating a tremendous buzz."

The film, which was released last week, has garnered over ₹300 crore at the global box office, showcasing its widespread success.

In 'Chhava', Vicky Kaushal portrays Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, the son of Maratha Empire founder Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. The movie delves into Sambhaji Maharaj’s bravery, sacrifices, and his pivotal role in Maratha history.

Kaushal shared his excitement on Instagram, posting the video clip of PM Modi’s speech, along with the caption, "Words cannot express this honor. Deeply grateful to Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji."

Mumbai, Dec 3 (IANS) Actor Vicky Kaushal expressed his excitement as his 'childhood hero' Sachin Tendulkar watched his recently released film 'Sam Bahadur', saying he will cherish his words for a lifetime.

‘Sam Bahadur’ is based on the legendary Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw.

The film also stars Fatima Sana Shaikh, and Sanya Malhotra in lead roles.

During the special screening of the movie, Sachin can be seen saying to the paparazzi in a video: "Bahut acchi film hai. Jarur dekhiyega. I was super impressed by Vicky’s acting. Dekh ke aisa laga ki actual me Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw saamne hain hamare. The body language was incredible. If you want to know the history of our country, then you should definitely watch this movie. It is very important for every generation."

Taking to Instagram, Vicky shared a happy click with former Indian cricketer Sachin, wherein the ‘URI’ actor can be seen in a black long sleeve tee and denims. Sachin is wearing a blue shirt and cream coloured pants.

New Delhi, Dec 1 (IANS) Be it ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, ‘Raazi’, ‘Sardar Udham’ or his latest release ‘Sam Bahadur’, something happens to Vicky Kaushal as he ends up upping his own success game when he dons the uniform on screen.

The star says it comes from a point where there is genuine regard for the Indian Army and that he gets a kick out of playing a real hero.

What happens to him as he stuns every time when he dons the uniform for a performance onscreen?

Vicky told IANS: “I think it comes from a point where there is genuine regard for the Indian Army and also inherently I get kicked about playing a real hero. I find that great.”

“Whenever I get to interact with real army personnel, I am just speechless and inspired by them that whenever I get an opportunity to play them there is this subconscious sense of that isme jaan phookni hai… I can't take this lightly and out do myself.”

“That plays subconsciously so much that it shows in my work. We put in work and effort in all our films and that sense of responsibility just brings out something out of me.”

Asked if he agrees that there is something special about the uniform, the national crush said: “Of course.”

Vicky’s latest release is ‘Sam Bahadur’, a biographical war drama film based on the life of India's first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw.It is directed by Meghna Gulzar . Set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War, Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw led the Indian Army from the front leading to Bangladesh's liberation.

Talking about playing Manekshaw in the film, Vicky agrees that there was something unique about his aura.

He said: “His aura was not limited to the uniform. It was not like when he would wear his uniform he would have this aura and when he’s not with this aura. He just had this aura and flamboyance spirit that heart which would cut across a room full of people irrespective of whether he is in a uniform or not to crack that … spirit was the focus was on that a lot more than just his body language.”

Did he take back some learning from Manekshaw?

The 35-year-old star said: “What happens to me after the process of filming is that the body language rubbing off takes time the way he sat, became my normal way of sitting, the way he stood up became my normal posture and that took time to come off because I was doing that for seven months…and literally shooting for 12 hours becoming that man… You just go home to sleep…. That takes time to go off.”

The National Award-winner feels lucky to have lived Manekshaw’s life through the film.

“But apart from that I felt for the first time that in my personal life I would get into a situation and I would like ‘what would Sam sir do’. I feel blessed to try and live his life and understand his way to look at life because I can think like that,” added the actor.

Mumbai, Nov 20 (IANS) Director Meghna Gulzar is leaving no stone unturned to ensure maximum historical authenticity for her upcoming biopic ‘Sam Bahadur’. Recreating an iconic picture of him standing with Gorkha soldiers, she went to great lengths just to create that specific shot and got teary-eyed when it happened successfully.

The photo is an iconic one and it is from the third India-Pakistan war (Bangladesh Liberation War,1971) which saw the Indian Armed Forces emerging fully victorious against their war with Pakistan.

This led to the separation of the erstwhile East Pakistan and resulted in the creation of what is now called People’s Republic of Bangladesh.

Belonging to Gorkha regiment, Sam Manekshaw was very well acquainted with them and the iconic photo was taken during the war. It is believed that he was instructing the troops to prevent harassment of any Bangladeshi refugee as an order, request, and motivation.

Talking about recreating the photo, Meghna Gulzar, going behind-the-scenes, said: “This is one of the most iconic photos of Sam Manekshaw, where he could be seen meeting a Gorkha soldier standing amidst tall grass. I have had this picture as my wallpaper on my laptop for over 4-5 years, so suddenly when I had to recreate this exact scene it was something very personal for me.”

She added: “On the second last day, I had picked the location to shoot and it was very overwhelming to recreate that very image which you’ve had in front of you for so many years. We found the location, we found the grass, but there was always this doubt that how will it go, will it go well, will we be able to do it all, or whether it could be done, maybe bit by bit?”

“Then to suddenly see that shot on the monitor in front of me was very emotional for me. I think we came pretty close,” she said.

The film is a biopic on the legendary Field Marshal who led the Indian Army to victory during the '71 war. It covers his life, upbringing, and his military career from his days in the Indian Military Academy during the British Raj and his fighting in World War-II to the 1948 India-Pak war, 1962 India-China war, 1965 India-Pakistan war, 1967 India-China skirmish, and the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation.

Starring Vicky Kaushal, Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Sheikh, among others, ‘Sam Bahadur’ will hit theatres on December 1, 2023.

Mumbai, Oct 12 (IANS) Bollywood star Vicky Kaushal, who was recently seen in ‘The Great Indian Family’, is gearing up for his next release ‘Sam Bahadur’ as he shared a new poster from the film on Thursday.

The poster, shared ahead of the film’s teaser launch on Friday, shows Vicky’s titular character of the former Army chief, Sam Manekshaw, standing in an open field in a deep thought with his back facing the camera. The golden hour and the sun peeking from the horizon make the shot a compelling one.

The text on the poster reads: “Zindagi unki, itihaas humara (His life, our history).” Sharing the picture on his Instagram, Vicky wrote in the caption: “To a life well lived.”

Sam Manekshaw, an Indian war hero, was the Chief of the Army Staff of the Indian Army during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. He became the first Indian Army officer to be promoted to the rank of Field Marshal. He began his career with service in World War II and had an active military career spanning four decades and five wars.

The teaser of the film is set to be unveiled on Friday, and will also be screened during the upcoming World Cup match between India and Pakistan on October 14, thereby capitalising on the theme around the war between the two nations who are known to be arch-rivals both on and off the field.

The film, directed by Meghna Gulzar, also stars Sanya Malhotra, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Neeraj Kabi, Edward Sonnenblick, Richard Bhakti Klein, Saqib Ayub and Krishna Kant Singh Bundela. THe film will debut in theatres on December 1 where it will clash with the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer gangster film ‘Animal’.

Mumbai, Sep 2 (IANS) National crush Vicky Kaushal went sleepless for three nights straight to shoot for ‘Kanhaiya Twitter Pe Aaja’ from the upcoming release ‘The Great Indian Family’ (TGIF).

Vicky said: “‘Kanhaiya Twitter Pe Aaja’ is my entry sequence in TGIF. A massive set was built that replicated a heartland town of India. The environment was infectious, there were countless dancers and crew who added to the vibe.” 

“We have constantly shot for 3 whole nights! Yes, I was sleepless, we all were but we were loving the vibe!”

The song is growing on the charts as the big Janmashtami song of the year! Vicky says Yash Raj Films went all out to give massive scale to his entry sequence because he is playing a singing sensation from heartland India!

He said:  “YRF really mounted Kanhaiya Twitter Pe Aaja to showcase the popularity of Bhajan Kumar in his hometown. My character is a singing icon in his town and the people of this town adore him.”

Vicky added:  “The scale of the song had to match the love that the people have for Bhajan Kumar. I had an amazing time shooting this song. I hope that people love this song too and it becomes the song to listen to this Janmashtami!”

The Great India Family is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language family comedy directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya. It also stars  Manushi Chhillar, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Sadiya Siddiqui, Alka Amin, Srishti Dixit, Bhuvan Arora, Ashutosh Ujjwal and Bharti Perwani.
