New Delhi – Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a two-day visit to Israel starting Wednesday, aiming to deepen bilateral defense and trade cooperation amidst ongoing tensions in West Asia, including the deteriorating relations between the United States and Iran.

The Prime Minister's itinerary includes an address to the Israeli parliament, comprehensive talks with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu, and a meeting with President Isaac Herzog. As per agency report, boosting overall defense and security cooperation will be a major topic of discussion during the delegation-level talks between the two Prime Ministers on Thursday. Additionally, Netanyahu will host a private dinner for Modi on Wednesday night.

This marks Modi's second visit to Israel in nine years. His first visit in July 2017 elevated India-Israel relations to the level of a strategic partnership, which was further cemented when Netanyahu visited India in January 2018. The two nations share a robust strategic partnership with strong cooperation in areas such as science and technology, innovation, defense and security, trade and investment, agriculture, water, and people-to-people ties.

During their discussions, the two Prime Ministers are also likely to address the current situation in West Asia, including Gaza. Since the beginning of the Israel-Iran conflict in June last year, Modi and Netanyahu have spoken twice on the phone. On October 9, Modi called Netanyahu to congratulate him on the progress achieved under President Donald Trump's Gaza peace plan.

Over the past few years, India-Israel relations have witnessed positive transformations across several sectors, including defense, scientific research, cyber security, and innovation. Defense cooperation has emerged as a key pillar of this partnership, with Israel supplying various military platforms and weapon systems to India. A significant agreement on defense cooperation was signed during the Indian Defense Secretary's visit to Israel in November last year. While India is considering the development of an indigenous air defense system called Sudarshan Chakra, New Delhi is exploring the possibility of incorporating elements of Israel's Iron Dome air defense system, which can intercept and destroy missiles and artillery shells. Meanwhile, trade and investment relations between the two countries continue to make steady progress.

Tel Aviv, November 17 – Two flash bombs were launched toward Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residence in the northern city of Caesarea, landing in the garden without causing any damage. According to a joint statement released by Israeli security agencies on Saturday evening, Netanyahu and his family were not present at the residence during the incident. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

Israel has condemned the incident as a "serious act of provocation" and warned the perpetrators of severe consequences. President Isaac Herzog denounced the attack, stating that an investigation is underway. Defense Minister Israel Katz, in a post on X, called for immediate action from security and judicial agencies to address the situation. Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir also expressed strong condemnation, stating on X that the attack on Netanyahu's residence marks a crossing of yet another red line.

This incident follows a similar attempt in October when a drone was launched toward Netanyahu's residence in Caesarea, which also caused no damage. At the time, Netanyahu attributed the attack to Iran-backed Hezbollah, accusing the group of attempting to assassinate him and his wife.

Israeli authorities are treating this latest incident as a grave escalation in threats against the Prime Minister and have intensified security measures around his residence. Investigations into both attacks are ongoing.

Gaza, 19 October : Following the death of Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar in Israeli airstrikes, the leadership of the terrorist organization is in disarray. As panic spreads among its ranks, Hamas is reportedly considering appointing a leader from outside Gaza. Meanwhile, Israeli airstrikes continue to devastate the region, with over 30 civilians killed near Nasser Junction.

Palestinian official news agency WAFA reported the incident near Nasser Junction in northern Gaza's Jabalia camp, where Israeli airstrikes claimed the lives of more than 30 civilians, including 20 women and children, and left over 50 others injured. The Israeli military bombed several houses in the area, intensifying the assault on northern Gaza.

According to WAFA, since the onset of Israeli attacks on Gaza on October 7, 2023, a staggering 42,500 civilians have lost their lives, and nearly 100,000 others have been injured. Additionally, two more civilians were killed in Israeli bombing at the Al-Maghazi camp in central Gaza, while a further 64 civilians were killed in Friday's attacks, 45 of whom were from Jabalia camp.

Reports from various media outlets in Syria suggest that after Sinwar's death, Hamas is exploring the option of appointing a leader from outside Gaza. Yahya's brother, Mohammad Sinwar, is now expected to take a significant role in the ongoing conflict against Israel. Khalil al-Hayya, a close associate of Yahya Sinwar, is being considered as a potential successor, given his current role as Hamas' chief negotiator.

Other potential candidates for leadership include former Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal and Mohammad Darwish, the head of the Shura Council. The organization has now lost two of its leaders in under three months. Ismail Haniyeh, who had led Hamas for several years, was killed in Iran on July 31. Following his death, Yahya Sinwar took charge until his recent killing by Israeli forces. Unlike Sinwar, who unified Gaza's military and political leadership, it seems unlikely the next leader will be able to do the same.

On Friday, the Israeli army announced that they had killed two infiltrators attempting to cross the Jordanian border into southern Israel, further highlighting the escalating tensions in the region.

Washington, October 18 – Israel Defense Forces (IDF) successfully eliminated their most wanted adversary, Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, in Gaza on Thursday as part of an ongoing military operation. Sinwar, who led the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel last year, was at the top of Israel's hit list. While Israel has claimed this as a significant step in avenging those attacks, the fight will continue until all hostages are freed.

US President Joe Biden reacted to Sinwar’s death, calling it "a good day for the entire world." He added that DNA tests confirmed Sinwar’s death, marking it as a positive moment for Israel, the US, and global security. Biden emphasized that this event presents a valuable opportunity for the release of Israeli hostages and could pave the way to ending the Gaza conflict, which has been ongoing for over a year. US Vice President and Democratic candidate Kamala Harris echoed Biden’s sentiments, stating that Sinwar's death was a necessary step for peace. She added, “The man responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent lives is no longer a threat, and this creates an opening to bring the war in Gaza to a close.”

Israel announced Sinwar’s death on Thursday night. Both Israel and the US have held Sinwar responsible for orchestrating the deadly Hamas attacks on southern Israel on October 7 last year, which resulted in the deaths of 1,200 people and the kidnapping of approximately 250 others.

It’s important to note that Sinwar took over as the head of Hamas after the death of leader Ismail Haniyeh in an Israeli operation in Tehran this past July. Born in 1962 in Khan Yunis, Gaza, Sinwar grew up in a refugee camp. He was one of the founding members of Hamas when the group formed in 1987. Known for his ruthlessness, Sinwar earned the nickname "the Butcher of Khan Yunis" after killing 12 of his associates on suspicion of betrayal.

Beirut/Damascus, October 11 – Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) are escalating their attacks on Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group that once roamed freely in Lebanon and recently sided with Hamas in the Gaza conflict. In the latest wave of airstrikes, at least 22 people were killed in a Hezbollah stronghold, and multiple buildings were destroyed.

According to a report in The New York Times, citing Lebanese officials, at least 22 people were killed and 117 others injured in an Israeli airstrike on Thursday in the densely populated Ras al-Nabaa neighborhood of central Beirut. The area was sheltering displaced individuals when Israeli bombs targeted the site. The IDF has not yet responded to requests for comment on these recent strikes.

Following Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7 last year, Israel retaliated fiercely in Gaza, catching Hamas off guard. Hezbollah, infuriated by Israel's actions, began launching rockets into northern Israel. In response, Israel expanded its military operations into Lebanon, displacing thousands of people. Recent reports suggest that nearly one million people in Lebanon have been forced to flee their homes due to the ongoing conflict.

The latest Israeli airstrikes targeted the middle floors of an eight-story building in Ras al-Nabaa, collapsing a four-story structure nearby as well. The IDF has been particularly focused on eliminating key Hezbollah leaders, and reports suggest that they successfully killed Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah and his prominent successor, Hashem Safieddine, in a recent airstrike.

In related news, The Syrian Observer confirmed that an Israeli airstrike in southern Syria's Quneitra region killed a Hezbollah operative, identified as Adham Zahout. The IDF's operations in the Golan Heights border region continue to target Hezbollah militants.

Meanwhile, Iraq has repatriated 706 of its citizens from Syria's Al-Hol camp, where over 43,000 people, including relatives of suspected Islamic State (IS) militants, from at least 45 countries reside.

In another development, Syria's state news agency SANA reported that Iraqi resistance forces targeted a significant Israeli location with a drone strike on Friday. The attack took place in Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat).

Damascus, October 9: Israeli forces launched a series of airstrikes targeting a Hezbollah commander involved in arms smuggling in Syria’s capital, Damascus, on Tuesday. The airstrikes were carried out on a residential building near the Iranian embassy, according to two Israeli officials. 

The New York Times reported that Syria’s state news agency, SANA, cited a military source stating that the rockets killed seven civilians, including women and children. It remains unclear whether the targeted Hezbollah commander was killed in the attack. The Iranian embassy confirmed that no Iranian citizens were killed or injured in the strikes.

As tensions escalate, Israel has reportedly deployed additional troops to southern Lebanon, hinting at a possible intensification of ground operations, according to The New York Times. The ongoing Israeli military campaign has left much of Gaza in ruins, making it difficult to identify specific neighborhoods.

There are increasing calls within Israel, and from some U.S. circles, to target Iran’s nuclear capabilities. Several Israeli officials believe this is a viable option.

SANA reported that the Israeli airstrike targeted a residential building in the Mezzeh district of Damascus on Tuesday evening, around 8:15 p.m., with three missiles launched from the direction of the Syrian Golan Heights. Seven civilians were killed in the attack.

Beirut/Gaza, October 8: In a significant escalation of the ongoing conflict, a senior Hezbollah commander was killed in an Israeli airstrike south of Beirut, Lebanon. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Tuesday that the commander, Suhail Husseini, was responsible for logistics, budgeting, and operational management for Hezbollah, a terrorist organization supported by Iran. Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee confirmed the death. Meanwhile, in Gaza, three Hamas militants were also killed in an Israeli assault.

The IDF stated that Husseini was in charge of distributing advanced weapons supplied by Iran to various Hezbollah units. He was also a member of the organization's military council. Notably, Hezbollah's leader, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, has already been killed in previous Israeli attacks, along with his children and several top commanders.

In response, Hezbollah reiterated its stance, stating that it will continue launching rocket, missile, and drone attacks on Israel until a ceasefire is declared between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The IDF posted on its social media handle that three Hamas militants involved in the October 7, 2023, massacre were killed in the latest strike in Gaza. Additionally, Turkey has decided to send naval ships to evacuate 2,000 of its citizens from Lebanon amid the escalating violence.

According to Lebanon's Al-Manar news channel, Israeli airstrikes have devastated numerous homes in the southern suburbs of Beirut, as well as in the southern and Beqaa regions. Israel targeted several locations across Lebanon.

On Monday evening, Israel launched attacks between Adloun and Ansariyeh, hitting areas like Deir Taklaya, Joutar Al-Sharqiya, Al-Bisariyeh, Alma Al-Shaab, Tyra, Al-Shaitiya, and Al-Duweir towns. The city of Al-Khiam was also affected. Israeli forces bombed the outskirts of Burj Al-Shamali and several villages in the Bint Jbeil district, including Al-Khiam, Alma Al-Shaab, and Naqoura. In the western Beqaa region, two civilians were killed in the attacks. Israeli fighter jets also targeted a house in the city of Qalia.

According to the latest figures from Lebanon's Health Ministry, the death toll has risen to 2,083, with 9,869 people injured. Hezbollah continued its offensive by targeting multiple locations in Israel after midnight on Monday. Hezbollah's military media claimed a missile strike on Tel Aviv, targeting the Israeli Military Intelligence Unit 8200’s Glilot base. Israeli forces claimed to have intercepted several rockets launched from Lebanon towards Tel Aviv. Hebrew media reported that missiles were fired at Tel Aviv from Gaza, Yemen, and Lebanon on Monday night, with Hezbollah launching relentless rocket attacks from 12:05 a.m. to 5 a.m.

Kathmandu, October 3 - Despite Israel being embroiled in conflicts with neighboring regions like Palestine, Lebanon, and Iran, over 2,000 Nepalese workers are preparing to travel to various cities in Israel, primarily for employment opportunities.

As per the agnecy report, this follows an agreement between the Israeli and Nepalese governments, under which Israel agreed to hire Nepalese citizens as caregivers. A total of 3,461 individuals, who passed the required language proficiency exam, applied for the caregiver positions in Israel. From this pool, 2,112 applicants were selected through a lottery system.

Gurudatt Suvedi, the Director General of the Foreign Employment Department, confirmed on Thursday that these workers will be sent under the bilateral employment agreement between Israel and Nepal. He assured that the process is transparent, and the workers will not face fraud or exploitation since the recruitment is being handled directly by the governments of both countries.

Suvedi also emphasized that the selected Nepalese caregivers will receive attractive compensation packages, including housing and meal provisions, overtime pay, and comprehensive life and health insurance for both the workers and their families, all covered by the Israeli government. Additionally, 60% of the selected workers are women, as Israel has a higher demand for female caregivers than male workers in this sector.

Beirut – Hezbollah, the militant group in Lebanon, has been left stunned by Israel's latest aggressive moves. Following recent pager explosions, the group suffered another blow when explosions in their walkie-talkies resulted in the deaths of 14 people and injuries to at least 450. Reports suggest that similar pager explosions were reported in Syria as well. Lebanon's state news agency, NNA, confirmed the walkie-talkie explosions and reported nine fatalities with 300 injured.

Fires Erupt Across Homes and Vehicles

According to the Lebanese newspaper *L'Orient Today*, an earlier pager explosion on Tuesday had already claimed 12 lives and injured around 2,800 people. On Wednesday evening, at around 5 PM, explosions targeting Hezbollah’s walkie-talkies began. Lebanon’s Ministry of Health confirmed the fatalities and injuries, stating that fires broke out in 60 homes and shops, 15 cars, and dozens of motorcycles across the Nabatieh region due to the blasts.

A New Phase of Warfare

Beirut Today reported that thousands of walkie-talkies exploded in homes and vehicles across multiple locations. Israel's technology-driven attacks have left Lebanon in shock. Acting Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati confirmed the walkie-talkie explosions during the evening. *Beirut Today* cited Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant's remarks, shared through Israeli military radio, indicating that Israel is now focusing its attention on the north and entering a new phase of warfare.

Walkie-Talkie Explodes During a Funeral

According to Beirut Today, the explosions began at 5:00 PM, causing fires in Beirut’s southern suburbs, Dahieh, and more than 20 towns in southern Lebanon. In Dahieh, one of the explosions occurred during the funeral of a victim of the previous day's pager blasts.

All Devices Belonged to Hezbollah

As reported by The New York Times, all of the walkie-talkies that exploded were in the possession of Hezbollah members. The militant group has vowed revenge, although Israel has neither confirmed nor denied its involvement in the pager attacks. However, officials in Lebanon and the United States have accused Israel of being responsible for the explosions.

Israel’s Warning: Hezbollah Will Pay a Higher Price Every Time

Statements on the Israeli Defense Forces’ official social media and website reflect the intentions of Israeli Chief of Staff General Herzi Halevi. After visiting the Northern Command, Halevi approved both defensive and offensive strategies. Addressing his commanders, Halevi emphasized that Israel possesses advanced technological capabilities that have yet to be fully deployed. He warned that Hezbollah would face increasing consequences at every stage of the conflict. Israel remains committed to eliminating Hamas in Gaza and securing the release of hostages. 

Halevi’s remarks hold added significance following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s vow to return thousands of displaced residents from northern border areas to their homes. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, while touring the Ramat David Air Force Base, praised the collaboration between Shin Bet, Mossad, and the Israel Defense Forces, further strengthening Israel’s preparedness for the ongoing conflict.

Tel Aviv: The nation of Israel is engulfed in grief and outrage following the tragic deaths of six Israeli hostages held by the terrorist group Hamas. The return of the hostages' bodies to their homeland sparked an outpouring of emotion, with mourners weeping openly as the reality of their loss set in. The public's anger has turned towards Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with widespread accusations that his administration has failed to negotiate a ceasefire and secure the safe return of the captives.

Protests erupted across the country on Sunday, with citizens voicing their frustration at the government's handling of the conflict. In a significant move, Histadrut, Israel's largest trade union federation, called for a general strike, demanding the government sign a ceasefire agreement. 

As the Israel-Hamas conflict nears its one-year mark, tensions remain high. The Israeli populace is increasingly demanding a ceasefire and the release of all captives still held by Hamas. Reports emerged of clashes between protesters and security forces, with demonstrators blocking roads in various parts of Tel Aviv. Additionally, protests were held outside Prime Minister Netanyahu's residence in West Jerusalem.

The Hostages and Missing Families Forum released a statement revealing that the six hostages had endured 11 months of torture, abuse, and starvation before being killed. This revelation has only intensified the public's anger.

Gil Dickman, cousin of one of the deceased hostages, Carmel Gat, took to social media platform X to urge fellow citizens to pressure the government. "Take to the streets and shut down the country until everyone is back from Gaza. They can still be saved," he wrote.

The ongoing conflict has claimed thousands of lives, with reports indicating that over 40,000 people have died as a result of Israeli strikes on Gaza. More than 94,000 have been injured. The conflict began on October 7 last year when Hamas launched a brutal attack on Israel, killing 1,139 Israeli civilians and taking 250 hostages. The recent deaths of the six hostages have further fueled the demand for an immediate end to the bloodshed.

Tel Aviv, Nov 23 (IANS) Shani Gabay, a 25-year-old Israeli law student who was missing since the Hamas launched its massive assault on October 7 and presumed to have been abducted by the militant group, has been found dead.

Gabay was from the northern city of Yokne’am and her body was recovered by the authorities on Wednesday near Kibbutz Beri..

Speaking to reporters, Yokne’am Mayor Simon Alfasi said she had been at the Supernova music festival when the Hamas had launched its attack.

According to the Mayor, Gabay had called her mother shortly after the assault and informed her that she was in hiding at a shelter and that she shot on her leg.

Speaking to IANS, her brother Aviel said: “We were expecting her to return. Unfortunately, this has happened. We thank the people of Israel who were praying for her comeback including all our near and dear ones. We expect all the hostages to be back home without any issues.”

Her funeral will take place at Yokne’am at 3 p.m. on Thursday.

The development comes amid a hotly anticipated hostage deal between Hamas and Israel -- which includes a four-day pause to fighting -- has now been postponed to Friday following a setback.

The Hamas had announced that the pause would begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

But, the plan has been delayed after a security adviser to the Israeli government said there would be no Israeli hostages released by Hamas before Friday.

As of Thursday morning, the war continues in the Gaza Strip.
