Speaking at the Changemakers Conclave organised by Yuva Bharati Foundation at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Nagpur, he stressed the need for clear goal-setting and persistent hard work to achieve desired outcomes, as per agency report.

Gadkari told the audience that even small contributions can bring about meaningful change in society and should not be underestimated. He cautioned that setting small ambitions is akin to doing a disservice to one’s potential and urged young people to dream big, visualise a better future and develop a strong and practical vision for their lives and careers.

Emphasising the importance of capable leadership across different sectors, the minister highlighted the role of experience and practical insight in shaping effective decision-makers. He pointed out that theoretical knowledge alone is not enough and that real understanding comes from direct engagement with people and their problems.

Drawing from his own work in Nagpur, Gadkari explained that many development projects he had pursued were conceptualised only after he closely examined local issues and understood citizens’ needs on the ground. He said that success in any undertaking depends greatly on the willingness to accept responsibility and to execute the task with dedication and sincerity.

Referring to various development initiatives, he observed that individuals and leaders must strive to turn their goals and dreams into reality. He noted that people appreciate those who inspire them with a vision of progress, but they also hold leaders accountable if those promises are not fulfilled, while showing enduring support for those who deliver on their commitments.

The heart covered a distance of over 1,067 kilometers through a combination of air and road transport.

The life-saving procedure was carried out at the Fortis Escorts Heart Institute on Okhla Road, New Delhi.

Timely Coordination Saves Lives

Dr. Ritwick Raj Bhuiya, Adult Cardiac Surgeon at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, emphasized the critical role of time in heart transplants. "The ideal window from harvesting the heart to transplantation is six hours. The organ must be transplanted within this timeframe to ensure its viability," he said.

The journey began at 12:53 a.m. from Kingsway Hospital in Nagpur, where the heart was harvested from a 43-year-old male donor who had succumbed to a brain stroke. The organ was transported via air ambulance, departing Nagpur at 1:12 a.m. and arriving at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport at 3:19 a.m.

Swift Execution with Green Corridors

From the airport, the Delhi Traffic Police established a second green corridor, ensuring the heart reached Fortis Escorts Heart Institute on Okhla Road, covering the 20-kilometer distance in just 27 minutes.

A Life-Saving Mission

The successful transplant highlights the importance of seamless coordination between hospitals, transport teams, and traffic authorities. It also underscores the significance of organ donation in saving lives, giving hope to countless patients awaiting transplants.

Manohar will cook a staggering seven tons (7,000 kgs) of ‘Ram Halwa’ for Ram Lalla on January 29 in Ayodhya which shall be savoured by around 1.50 lakh devotees and other dignitaries attending the historic event and its subsequent programmes, at the temple and in the pilgrim town.

For the venture, Manohar has ordered a brand new, gigantic steel cauldron (kadhai) weighing around 1300-1400 kgs with a capacity of 12 tonnes -- it can be lifted only by a crane -- in which he will cook the holy savoury.

Manohar, 52, said that the dimensions of the massive freshly-built cauldron are 15 feet diameter x 5 feet depth, made of steel with a central part made of iron so that the halwa will not get scalded during the preparations.

The glittering vessel, costing around Rs 8,00,000, will be shipped from Nagpur to Ayodhya in a trailer truck, will reach the venue after a two-day road journey, and will be cleaned up for its maiden auspicious prasad.

The ‘Ram Halwa’ shall be prepared with huge quantities of ingredients -- 900 kgs of ‘rava’, 40 kgs cardamom and nutmeg powder, at least 300 kg dry-fruits, one ton each of cow ghee and sugar, plus 2,500 litres of water.

The preparation shall be stirred by a massive spatula, 10-12 feet long, that will be handled by Manohar along with one or two expert cooks, with the initiative called ‘Kar Seva se Paak Seva’.

“The ‘Ram Halwa’ preparation would take upto three hours… We plan to start at dawn, say around 6 a.m… Then, we shall offer it for the ‘Bhog Prasad’ to the idol of Ram Lalla, and later distribute it among the devotees at the temple and outside in the town through volunteers,” Manohar told IANS.

On the cost of the 7 tonnes ‘Ram Halwa’, Manohar said that it will be borne by the Shri Ram Temple Trust, and he would foot the bill of the cauldron as his humble contribution for the auspicious occasion.

All the ingredients for the ‘Ram Halwa’ shall be sourced from the huge amounts of donations the Ram Temple is receiving, but Manohar is attempting to arrange the one tonne of cow ghee from the famed Tirupati Temple of Andhra Pradesh as a donation, for what he hopes could be a ‘divine amalgamation’.

Although there are modern automatic options available to prepare such massive quantities of food, “but this is a special religious occasion, so we shall do all work manually”, he said with a smile.

The ‘Ram Halwa’ love’s labour is likely to pay off -- in the form of a world record, but Manohar -- who already holds over a dozen global records -- said it will be in the name of the Ram Temple Trust.

The cauldron would be taken out in a procession in Nagpur, certain religious rituals will be performed with the expected presence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Nagpur Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar, Nagpur Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar and other dignitaries, before it would be loaded onto a trailer for Ayodhya.

Manohar, a chef of 38 years standing, thinks big and cooks even bigger -- some of his past mega-servings include 10 tonnes of Masale Bhat for the tribal community meeting in Nagpur plus 10 tonnes of Samarsata Misal in Pune, 7 tonnes of millets khichdi in Chandrapur, 6.50 Gajanan Khichdi and 6 tonnes Rambandhu Mahachivda in Nagpur, 5 tonnes of Samarsata mix vegetable bhaji in Nagpur, besides many others.

"Don't succumb to the people who try to provoke you to divide the society," said RSS chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat, who urged them to perform the national duty of exercising their franchise.

Addressing the annual Vijayadashami celebrations at the sprawling Reshimbagh ground in Maharashtra's Nagpur, Bhagwat was all praise for successfully hosting the prestigious G20 Summit in India and for extending the Indian hospitality to the participant countries. "The guests in India enjoyed the Indian traditions and culture and warm receptions to them," he said.

The RSS chief said it was indeed an achievement that during its Session in India, the G20 warm heartily welcomed the African Union in its fold. The all round progress of India be it on science, agriculture and defence sector was showcased.

On the Manipur crisis, he said some separatist forces were involved in the violence. Both the groups Kuki Meitei were living there peacefully for years but trouble cropped up in the border areas.

Probably for the first time making a mention of sports, the RSS chief complimented the athletes who did the country proud in the recently held Asian Games in China. He did not forget to mention 18 Gold, 28 Silver and 47 Bronze medals making a total of 107.

Bhagwat also lauded the progress in the digital India, agriculture and defence sector. The Indian economy has reached top five from the 10th position in the recent, he said.

The RSS chief, however, skipped the mention of the inauguration of Ram temple in Ayodhya early next year.

He said that his work for the social upliftment and down to earth attitude will help him to win his constituency.

He said that he will seek blessings of people in his constituency through mobile network and social media platforms.

He said that the voters are smart. “Husband votes for one party while the wife votes for the other. But they accept gifts and benefits from all political parties,” Gadkari said during an interview to noted Marathi actor Prashant Damle.

He said that he will use social media platforms and reach out to the people to seek votes and put his good work for the development ahead of them.

He said that his family members are not his political heirs.

“My workers are my real political assets and not my family workers. Of course, my physical property will go to family members,” he said.

He said that a suggestion by party colleagues to make his elder son an office bearer of the party was politely rejected by himself.

“I won’t allow my son to sit next to me,” he said.

Gadkari also disclosed that during his youth days, he would dream to marry ‘Dream Girl’ Hema Malini.

“After becoming a minister, one day when Hema Malini visited our house, I confessed to her about my dream. To my surprise, Hema Malini said she would have considered the decision. But I thought this would not have been possible during those days. I considered my wife as Hema Malini but my favourite heroine has always been Rekha,” he confessed.

Gadkari also admitted that he still loves to eat light foods from roadside eateries.

Nagpur Commissioner of Police Amitesh Kumar told mediapersons that a raid on the bookie's premises led to the seizure of Rs 14-crore cash, 4 kg gold bars and 200 kgs silver, the exact value of which is being ascertained.

The police suspect that Jain may have fled to Dubai or some other country and a further probe is on to find out if there are more victims lured and cheated by him.

As per investigations, Jain had allegedly been investing money on behalf of the businessman in return for good returns, but later claimed that there were losses.

When the worried businessman demanded his money back, Jain refused after which the victim lodged a complaint with the Nagpur Cyber Police, according to Kumar.

The accident area has been lashed by heavy rain in the past few days and the bus was speeding from Nagpur to Pune at that hour, said officials.

One of the two bus drivers, who survived the tragedy, has been detained by the police for questioning and more precise details on the possible causes of the accident are expected to emerge later.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, IGP Jayant Naiknavare, Buldhana SP Sunil Kadasne and other senior officials rushed to the spot early this morning and reviewed the relief operations.

At least 33 people were on board the bus, including two drivers and a cleaner.

Fadnavis said that the police are probing the cause of the accident whether it was due to human error or other causes, while ruling out any technical or construction glitches as the possible trigger for the tragedy.

The private luxury bus, belonging to Vidarbha Travels, was traveling from Nagpur to Pune and the tragedy occurred near the Sindhkhedraja area at around 1.25 a.m., a police official said.

As the bus was speeding, it apparently suffered a tyre burst, after which it hit an expressway electric pole, rammed into a divider then went out of control and overturned, police said.

As it skid for several metres, its diesel tank exploded into a huge ball of flame, engulfing the vehicle and trapping the passengers inside, said a police official.

There were 33 people on board, including two drivers and a cleaner.

The eight injured persons have been admitted to the Buldhana civil hospital for treatment.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis have expressed condolences.

Nationalist Congress Party President Sharad Pawar, Leader of Opposition Ajit Pawar, National Working President Supriya Sule, General Secretary Dr. Jitendra Awhad, and several other state leaders have expressed grief over the tragedy.

While Modi declared an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakhs from the PMNRF for the victims' kin, with Rs 50,000 for the injured, Shinde announced a Rs 5 lakh compensation for the kin of each deceased, and free treatment for the injured.

In a message, the Prime Minister said: “Deeply saddened by the devastating bus mishap in Buldhana. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who lost their lives."

Pawar said that the tragedy had brought to the fore the issue of speed-limits for vehicles on the expressway and the government should take serious note of this and initiate immediate measures.

“Concern was expressed by asking the statistics of accidents from the concerned department a week ago. Urgent measures were suggested to prevent accidents."

Meanwhile, Fadnavis said that the police are probing the cause of the accident.

According to reports, none of the injured were in a serious condition.

The scene of the accident presents a ghastly picture with dark charred skeletal remains of the luxury bus lying beside the expressway, and a stench of the bodies and the ashen vehicle looming there.

At dawn, a chilling picture was present when the burnt bodies of the victims were retrieved and kept on a clearing, covered with sheets, while scores of bags, clothes, papers, files and other belongings of the passengers could be seen strewn around for several metres in the vicinity.

As a majority of the victims have been burnt beyond recognition, the police said that they will try to match them with the DNAs of their relatives before handing them over for the last rites.

Shinde and Fadnavis will visit the accident site for a spot assessment of the situation and meet the injured in the hospital.
