Mumbai, July 22 – Amazon Prime Video has officially announced its upcoming celebrity talk show titled ‘Too Much with Kajol and Twinkle’, to be hosted by two of Bollywood’s most outspoken and beloved personalities – Kajol and Twinkle Khanna.

The show promises to deliver a fresh blend of humor, candid conversations, and engaging celebrity interviews. While the streaming giant has yet to announce a release date, the unveiling of the show’s first poster has already stirred excitement among fans.

Produced by Banijay Asia, Too Much with Kajol and Twinkle is expected to offer more than just glamour and laughs. According to the announcement, the show will dive into lesser-known anecdotes from the personal lives of its celebrity guests, explore their career highs and lows, and reveal behind-the-scenes stories from the world of cinema.

Amazon Prime Video teased the announcement on social media, saying, “They have all the juiciest gossip, and they’re too entertaining to miss!” – hinting at the no-holds-barred vibe of the show.

With Kajol’s wit and charisma paired with Twinkle Khanna’s sharp humor and candor, the show is poised to be a refreshing addition to India’s talk show scene, offering viewers an entertaining mix of revelations, laughter, and genuine moments with some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry.

Mumbai, July 11 – Renowned actress Kajol has shared her thoughts on the evolving portrayal of mothers in Indian cinema, noting that this transformation mirrors society's changing perception of motherhood itself. In a candid conversation with the media, Kajol remarked that the image of the idealistic, sacrificial mother has given way to more layered, humanized portrayals.

Referring to iconic screen mothers like Nirupa Roy and Nargis, Kajol acknowledged their lasting impact but emphasized that today’s cinema embraces both the strengths and vulnerabilities of maternal characters. “Mothers in Bollywood have changed alongside society. The way we see our mothers in real life is now reflected on screen as well. Mothers have always been strong, even in the past, as seen in a film like Mother India,” she said.

According to Kajol, earlier depictions often placed mothers on a pedestal of moral perfection. Today, however, audiences are more accepting of mothers who make mistakes, who are not flawless, and who can be both soft and fierce. “She can be a superwoman, but also gentle and feminine. We once saw mothers as ideals; now we see them as people,” she added.

As per agency report, Kajol welcomed the idea that modern films allow for portrayals of mothers who may appear selfish, aggressive, or even emotionally fragile. But she noted that this shift can only happen when women begin to accept both their own flaws and those of other women.

“It all depends on how we look at each other. Can we forgive the small failings? Like missing a child’s school play because of work — is that a flaw, or just a part of being human?” Kajol asked, urging for a more realistic and compassionate lens in portraying mothers on screen.

She concluded by stating that there’s a growing need to make cinematic mothers more relatable and human, reflecting the real-life complexities of being a woman and a parent in today’s world.

Mumbai, Nov 28 (IANS) Filmmaker Karan Johar, who is back with the new season of his chat show ‘Koffee With Karan’, recalled a funny incident of the narration of ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ with Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, where the latter thought someone was pranking her when she got a call from Director Mani Ratnam.

In the upcoming episode, Kajol and Rani Mukerji will grace the controversial couch of the show.

During the conversation, Karan shared: “I still remember the day I narrated the film to SRK and Kajol. We were at SRK’s old house at Amrit Apartments. We were sitting in his room which is right next to the terrace.”

“You were crying, SRK was looking at you thinking you lost the plot. I was crying while narrating the film, you were crying while hearing and he was just thinking that both of us were mad,” said Karan.

The flmmaker added: “And at that point of time, I remember you got a call, in the mid of this from Mani Ratnam to whom you said ‘Who?’ He said I am Mani Ratnam speaking and you were like ‘Yeah, and I am Tom Cruise’, and put the phone down.”

“Mani Ratnam had called her for ‘Dil Se’. She didn't believe it was Mani Ratnam and she thought someone was playing a prank,” concluded Karan.

It is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.

Mumbai, July 23 (IANS) Actress Kajol, who is being lauded for her powerful performance in the series 'The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha', says being able to represent the strength of a woman and being appreciated for that portrayal is empowering for her as a woman and as an actor.

"Noyonika's character is very close to my heart. She is a strong and practical woman who is always ready to tackle every situation in her life… Being able to represent the strength of a woman and being appreciated for that portrayal is empowering for me as a woman and as an actor," said the actress. 

Director Suparn S. Varma shared that it was an emotional moment to bring the series to the world and added that he cannot  wait to show what happens next.

In 'The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha', Kajol's character faces the hardships of being a parent in a challenging situation. The journey of Noyonika (played by Kajol) as she embarks on a journey that truly makes her stand the test of time after her husband’s betrayal also reflects on the tough decisions a parent has to make for the betterment of their children.

'The Trial - Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha', which has been received well by the audience, is  streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.  It is an adaptation of Robert King and Michelle King's The Good Wife, directed by Suparn Verma.

Mumbai, June 12 (IANS) After ruling the silver screen for a good decade, Kajol is making her OTT debut with 'The Trial - Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokha'. So, is working on a web series different from films? Kajol doesn't see any difference.

"Regardless of the format, a role is a role. It requires the same amount of hard work," Kajol said at the trailer launch of the Disney+ Hotstar series in Mumbai on Monday.

When asked about the difficulties she might have faced in migrating from the silver screen to OTT, Kajol said: "It is a rather simple choice for me. I have always maintained that if I work, I will have fun, I will work with good people, and the script will always be my hero, always."

Talking about the work involved, Kajol said: "Whether it is an OTT platform or a film, for me, a role is a role, both formats require the same amount of work. Perhaps, doing an eight-episode series for OTT required more time, but it is the same."

Kajol added: "The work is the same. I am not different in any manner, my work is not different in any manner. I don't think it is not that difficult a choice to make."

When asked what scares her more, Love, Law or Betrayal, as the title of the series is 'The Trail - Pyaar Kaanoon Dhokha', Kajol said: "I don't think I am scared of anything, using the word scared may not be right. But I do have a healthy wariness about all three. You cannot fall in love with closed eyes, you cannot play with the law, nor can you betray someone."

Adapted from the CBS show, 'The Good Wife', the web series sees Kajol as a lawyer and a housewife, who is forced to return to work as a lawyer after her husband's public scandal lands him behind bars.

The series is helmed by Suparn Varma of 'The Family Man' and 'Rana Naidu' fame, and also has Sheeba Chaddha, Jisshu Sengupta, Alyy Khan, Kubbra Sait and Gaurav Pandey in key roles. It streams from July 14.

Mumbai, April 4 (IANS) Bollywood star Kajol has shared a string of photographs featuring her daughter Nysa Devgn and her before attending the inauguration of Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) and even gave a glimpse of the behind-the-scene moment from the photoshoot.

Kajol took to Instagram, where she shared a string of pictures. The first few images feature Nysa looking gorgeous in a silver outfit she wore for the launch. Then comes the actress, who poses with her and the two in the last image are seen laughing.

"Mini me and me! Started off all graceful and then we became human," she wrote as the caption.

The NMACC launch was a star-studded affair, where the who's who of the showbiz world were seen attending it.

The names include Gigi Hadid, Tom Holland, Zendaya, Penelope Cruz, Karlie Kloss, Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, and global icon Priyanka Chopra and her husband Nick Jonas, Kareena Kapoor, and Saif Ali Khan.
