Mumbai, March 17 – The teaser of the new song ‘Sikandar Nache’ from the upcoming Bollywood film Sikandar, starring Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna, has been released.

Following the success of Jo Hara Jabeen and Bam Bam Bhole, the makers have now unveiled a glimpse of Sikandar Nache, which is expected to set the stage on fire with its energetic hook steps and stylish moves. The song marks the reunion of Salman Khan, producer Sajid Nadiadwala, and choreographer Ahmed Khan, who previously collaborated on the blockbuster song Jumme Ki Raat from Kick.

With its grand setup and a troupe of dancers specially brought in from Turkey, Sikandar Nache is poised to become another chartbuster. Fans can expect a high-energy performance that blends catchy beats with impressive choreography.

As per agency reports, Rashmika is currently busy promoting her upcoming film Sikandar, in which she stars opposite Salman Khan. The song has been composed by Pritam, sung by Nakash Aziz and Dev Negi, with lyrics penned by Sameer and Danish Sabri.

Sikandar marks Salman Khan’s return to the big screen after his 2023 film Tiger 3. Directed by A.R. Murugadoss, known for Ghajini, the film features an ensemble cast including Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, Sharman Joshi, and Prateik Babbar.

New Delhi, Jan 20 (IANS) The main accused behind actor Rashmika Mandanna's deepfake video, which went viral on social media platforms, has been arrested from Andhra Pradesh by a Delhi Police team, an official said on Saturday.

The accused, identified as Eemani Naveen, 24, a resident of Andhra Pradesh's Guntur district, was responsible for creating, uploading and circulating the deepfake video through various social media platforms.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, IFSO, Hemant Tiwari said that a complaint was received alleging that adeepfake video of a noted film actress is being circulated on social media platform.

During the preliminary analysis it was found that original video was uploaded by a British Indian girl on her Instagram account in October 2023 and later on, the deepfake video of the actress was created and circulated on various social media platforms.

"On investigation, more than 500 social media accounts related to the alleged deepfake videos were analysed. The videos were analysed in the Cyber Lab under the supervision of ACP Vijay Gehlawat. During this, IFSO unit interrogated more than several social media account holders from all over India and collected relevant information," the DCP said.

After deep analysis and interrogation of suspected persons, finally the account of the alleged was traced on Instagram.

"During further analysis, it was found that the original video of one British Indian girl was posted on October 9, 2023 and the deepfake video was posted on October 13, 2023. After identifying the alleged perpetrator, a team reached Guntur and located Naveen, who confessed to his crime," said the DCP.

On interrogation, he disclosed that he is a big fan of Rashmika and had created and run fan pages, he added.

"The accused also created two more fan pages of another two noted celebrities. He was managing all three pages and uploading original/clean videos. Followers of fan page of two more film stars are in lakhs," said the DCP.

To increase the followers of his Rashmika page, Naveen created the deepfake video of the actress and posted it on the fan page on October 13.

"Due to this deepfake video, the fan following of this page increased from 90,000 to 108,000 within two weeks. Later, when he realised that it became a national sensation. He also saw tweets from famous film stars against the said deepfake video, got scared, deleted the said posts from the Instagram Channel, and also changed the name of Insta channel. He had also deleted the relevant digital data from his devices," the DCP said.

This legal action was prompted by a complaint from the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), which took suo-moto cognisance of the 'deepfake' video involving the actress.

"After our notice, Delhi Police has registered an FIR in the @IAmRashmika fake video case. The accused will be arrested soon," former DCW chief Swati Maliwal had written on X.

Mumbai, Jan 8 (IANS) Amid reports of Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna getting engaged in February, sources close to the actors on Monday termed it "false".

A media report stated that the two are getting engaged. However, when IANS contacted their representatives, they denied.

“The report is false,” sources told IANS.

Reportedly, the actors are dating, however, they have not made their relationship official.

The two have starred together in movies like ‘Geetha Govindam’ and ‘Dear Comrade’.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Rashmika is basking in the success of recently released action thriller ‘Animal’, in which she stars opposite Ranbir Kapoor.

Mumbai, Dec 9 (IANS) Actress Rashmika Mandanna, who has been getting a lot of positive response to her work in the recently released Ranbir Kapoor-starrer film ‘Animal’, will start shooting for the second part of her franchise film, ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ with Telugu superstar Allu Arjun on December 13.

As per an industry source, the actress will shoot for the sequel in Hyderabad.

In the first part of the film, the actress essayed the role of Srivali and instantly became a national crush, Allu Arjun’s stellar dancing made the song a huge hit.

Talking about the actress’s shooting schedule, the source said: "Rashmika Mandanna is extremely happy with the love and praise she is receiving for the film Animal. Immediately after the massive success of Animal, Rashmika will begin the shoot for the highly ambitious and blockbuster franchise ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ on December 13 in Hyderabad. The actress will be reprising her iconic role of Srivali in the film starring Allu Arjun.”

Meanwhile, ‘Animal’ which has set the box-office on fire, has been criticised by certain section of the audience for the treatment of its female character. New Delhi, Nov 7 (IANS) Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, on Tuesday said that those who find themselves impacted by AI-generated deepfakes should file first information reports (FIRs) at nearest police stations and avail the remedies provided under the Information Technology (IT) Rules, 2021 and the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The minister said that given the significant challenges posed by misinformation and deepfakes, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has issued a second advisory within the last six months, calling upon online platforms to take decisive actions against the spread of deepfakes.

“Deepfakes are a major violation and harm women in particular. Our government takes the responsibility of safety and trust of all nagriks very very seriously, and more so about our children and women who are targeted by such content," Chandrasekhar said in a statement.

It is a legal obligation for online platforms to prevent the spread of misinformation by any user under the Information Technology (IT) Rules, 2021.

"They are further mandated to remove such content within 36 hours upon receiving a report from either a user or government authority. Failure to comply with this requirement invokes Rule 7, which empowers aggrieved individuals to take platforms to court under the provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC)," the minister said.

He stressed that it is imperative that platforms take proactive measures to combat this threat.

"For those who find themselves impacted by deepfakes, I strongly encourage you to file First Information Reports (FIRs) at your nearest police station," said Chandrasekhar.

MeitY has sent advisories to social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, to take down such fake content generated via artificial intelligence (AI).

Mumbai, Nov 6 (IANS) Actress Rashmika Mandanna has reacted to a reported morphed video of herself which has went viral on the social media, and called it "extremely scary", adding that we must address this as a community urgenly before anyone else gets affected by such identity theft.

Taking a strong stance against the viral deepfake video of her, Rashmika penned a long note on social media: "I feel really hurt to share this and have to talk about the deepfake video of me being spread online. Something like this is honestly extremely scary, not only for me, but also for each one of us who today is vulnerable to so much harm because of how technology is being misused."

"Today, as a woman and as an actor, I am thankful for my family, friends and well wishers who are my protection and support system. But if this happened to me when I was in school or college, I genuinely can’t imagine how could I ever tackle this. We need to address this as a community and with urgency before more of us are affected by such identity theft," she added.

Earlier in the day, megastar Amitabh Bachchan took a stand for his 'Goodbye' co-star Rashmika, and demanded legal action over the matter.

In response to a post on X by a user highlighting the alleged misuse of the video, the ‘Piku’ star said: "Yes this is a strong case." 

"There is an urgent need for a legal and regulatory framework to deal with deepfake in India.You might have seen this viral video of actress Rashmika Mandanna on Instagram. But wait, this is a deepfake video of Zara Patel," a user named Abhishek wrote on the microblogging site.

Along with the post, he also shared the "actual" video as claimed by him.
