The operation resulted in the seizure of ₹1.08 crore in cash, along with significant digital evidence, foreign currency, and gold.

Officials stated that the raids were linked to a two-year-old cyber fraud case, with nine locations raided in Delhi and two in Hisar, Haryana. According to a CBI spokesperson, the accused posed as government officials and engaged in illegal activities, including cryptocurrency fraud. They allegedly lured victims in India and abroad by offering fake tech support consultations, convincing them to transfer money in the form of cryptocurrency, which was later converted into cash through multiple crypto wallets.

The agency has already filed a chargesheet against three accused in connection with the case. During the operation, CBI recovered six laptops, eight mobile phones, and one iPad, while also uncovering the use of VOIP-based calling systems and darknet software to facilitate fraudulent activities. In addition to digital evidence, authorities seized ₹1.08 crore in cash, $1,000 in foreign currency, and 252 grams of gold.

The investigation remains ongoing as CBI intensifies efforts to dismantle the cyber fraud network and bring all culprits to justice.

A bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Manmohan ordered a CBI investigation. The High Court directed the Central Vigilance Commission to nominate a senior officer to monitor the CBI investigation.

The High Court said that a CBI investigation is necessary considering the nature of the incident. The decision to conduct a CBI investigation has been taken so that people do not have any doubts about the investigation. The High Court directed the Central Vigilance Commission to nominate a senior officer to monitor the CBI investigation. The High Court said that it is a fact that the municipal bodies of Delhi do not have funds for infrastructure. The High Court said that drains were built in Delhi 75 years ago. The maintenance of these drains is very poor. The earlier orders of the High Court were not implemented.

During the hearing, the Commissioner of Delhi Municipal Corporation said that the drains were not working in that area. He said that the drains have been encroached upon by local people and shopkeepers at many places. The Municipal Commissioner assured the court that the drains would be made encroachment free and action would be taken against the corporation officials responsible for the encroachment. On July 31, the High Court reprimanded the Delhi Police and Delhi Municipal Corporation and ordered the Municipal Commissioner, the DCP of the district and the investigating officer to appear in the court on the next hearing with all the files.

During the hearing, the counsel for the petitioners said that what happened in Rajendra Nagar is more than unfortunate. He had said that in 2019, an IRS and a foreigner died in a hotel fire. A few months ago, there was also a fire incident in Mukherjee Nagar coaching and a fire in a nursing home. We are living in a place where people are dying from fire and water.

The petitioner's lawyer had said that in the year 2023, the court had also issued instructions to the Delhi Municipal Corporation and other local authorities, but a year has passed but no action has been taken. On June 26 this year, a letter was sent to the administration regarding the illegal operation of the coaching center, but no action was taken on that either. If action had been taken on time, the lives of those three people could have been saved. Many libraries are running in basements in residential areas, but it is not known why the Municipal Corporation is completely silent. Many current commissioners have property there, which is the bitter truth. The petitioner said that a high-level investigation is required in this matter to find out what has prevented the officials from taking action.

The petitioner's lawyer said that there are many multi-storey buildings in Patel Nagar, Karol Bagh, Rajendra Nagar in Delhi. About 50-60 students are living in one building. Even PGs of students are running in the basement. The government has appointed a representative of the Municipal Corporation to stop illegal construction in every area, but they are not working. The fire department is deliberately not taking action. The district level officer should be held responsible.

A petition was filed by an organization called Kutumb demanding the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the matter. The petition demanded that guidelines be issued to investigate the unauthorized commercial construction and running of coaching institutes in Delhi without any standards. The petition said that many lives were lost in the last few years due to corruption of department officials. Delhi Government, Delhi Municipal Corporation, Delhi Jal Board and Delhi Fire Service have been made parties in the petition.

Sources said that the recovery of the phones is extremely important since this can lead to crucial clues relating to the scam.

During his interrogation on Friday, Saha excused himself to go to the washroom. After he was allowed, he suddenly rushed towards the pond adjacent to his residence and threw his phones, the sources added

In the raid, the CBI has recovered a number of incriminating documents, including admit cards for written examinations for recruitment of primary, upper primary and second sections in state- run schools.

The sources said that a diary has also been recovered which might contain records of scam proceeds collected.

During the course of its investigation and through questioning of arrested and expelled youth Trinamool Congress leader Kuntal Ghosh, the central agency sleuths came across a local agent named Kaushik Ghosh.

Sources said that Kaushik Ghosh mainly acted as an agent in Murshidabad district and his task was mainly to arrange for prospective candidates willing to pay hefty amounts of money for getting appointments in state-run schools.

From Kaushik Ghosh, the CBI sleuths came to know of Saha's involvement in the scam.

Kejriwal's testimony will be recorded by a team of top officials.

CBI sources told IANS that they will question Kejriwal about the call reportedly made between alleged accused Vijay Nair and Sameer Mahendru.

As per the probe agency, Nair had arranged meeting of the owner/controller of Indo Spirits Sameer Mahendru, with Kejriwal and when that didn't materialise, arranged a video call through Facetime on his phone for both and in the video call, Kejriwal allegedly told Mahendru that Nair was "his boy" and that Mahendru "should trust him and carry on with him".

It has also been alleged that Mahendru transferred around Rs 1 crore in the account of Radha Industries which is reportedly owned by Dinesh Arora, a close aide of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who was earlier arrested by both the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the matter, and is presently in jail.

Mahendru, on behalf of Vijay Nair, the former CEO of entertainment and event management firm Only Much Louder, named as an accused in the CBI's FIR, allegedly paid around Rs 2 to 4 crore to Arjun Pandey, another associate of Sisodia.

Bishnoi, who was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs five lakh from a man, jumped to his death from the fourth floor of CBI building in Gujarat.

In the recent past, two accused, including Bishnoi, have committed suicide in CBI custody. Prior to it, one man had hanged himself in CBI's custody in West Bengal's Bogtui.

He took the extreme step, just before the police were about to take him to the court.

A case was lodged against Bishnoi, on the allegations of demanding undue advantage to the tune of Rs 9 lakh from the complainant.

The victim had told the CBI that he had submitted six files containing all required documents of periodical export of food cans to DGFT, Rajkot to issue NOC so as to release their Bank Guarantee of around Rs 50 lakh.

He alleged that Bishnoi demanded an amount of Rs five lakhs towards first instalment and asked the complainant to deliver the remaining amount at the time of handing over of NOC.

The CBI laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed while accepting undue advantage of Rs five lakh from the complainant.

On Friday, searches were conducted at the office and residential premises of the accused, including in Rajkot and his native place.
