Ankleshwar/Bharuch: In a historic initiative towards skill development and employment generation, ONGC Ankleshwar Asset has selected 240 students from Bharuch district as apprentices. This process, completed under the leadership of Asset Manager Sh. J.N. Sukhanandan, is considered a major achievement for the institute, as never before in ONGC's history has such a large number of apprentices been inducted simultaneously. This initiative marks a significant step towards empowering local youth.

The selection process includes students holding degrees in ITI, Diploma, Engineering, Science, Arts, and other streams. This serves as a golden opportunity for these youths, under which they will be provided practical training with a stipend for 12 months at ONGC Ankleshwar. For the first time, the institute has offered a total of 288 apprenticeship opportunities, out of which 240 positions have been filled in the first phase, while the remaining vacancies will be filled through the second and third phases. Notably, most of the selected candidates are residents of Bharuch district, making this initiative a milestone in the development of the local community.

The objective of this one-year training program is not only to impart technical knowledge but also to groom the overall personality of the students to enhance their employability. During the training, special emphasis will be laid on soft skills alongside technical skills, which includes training in interview preparation, interpersonal skills, team building, and better communication skills. After this comprehensive training, these students will be in a better position to secure placements in reputed companies in the future.

This entire exercise underscores ONGC's commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Furthermore, it aligns with the vision of the Hon'ble Prime Minister, which aims to make skill development a key instrument for employment generation and to build a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India) by 2047. Surat, October 19 – In another moving example of humanity, Surat’s New Civil Hospital witnessed its 81st successful organ donation, as the family of 41-year-old Hemantkumar Dhansukhbhai Patel from Ankleshwar in Bharuch district decided to donate his liver, both kidneys, and eyes, giving new life to five individuals.

Hemant Patel had sustained severe injuries after falling from the first floor of a building in Ankleshwar on October 12. He was initially admitted to Jayaben Modi Hospital in Ankleshwar and later shifted to Surat New Civil Hospital on October 16. Despite the doctors’ continuous efforts, the neurology team led by Dr. Jay Patel declared him brain-dead on October 18.

Following the diagnosis, the State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (SOTTO) team and counselor Iqbal Kadivala explained the significance of organ donation to the grieving family. In a moment of remarkable courage, Hemant Patel’s wife, Stutiben Patel, gave her consent for organ donation, expressing that if her husband’s organs could save other lives, it would be the greatest act of giving and a lasting memory of him living on through others.

Hemant Patel’s liver and both kidneys were sent to IKD Hospital in Ahmedabad, while his eyes were donated to the eye bank at Surat New Civil Hospital. The entire procedure was carried out under the supervision of hospital superintendent Dr. Dharitri Parmar, with coordinated efforts from doctors, nursing staff, security personnel, and volunteers.

With this latest case, Surat New Civil Hospital has now achieved 81 successful organ donations, continuing to stand as a beacon of compassion, social awareness, and medical excellence in the state.

Ankleshwar, November 15: A horrific road accident on the Ankleshwar-Surat State Highway claimed the lives of three young men on Friday morning. The accident occurred near Shera village in Hansot taluka of Bharuch district. Among the deceased, one had recently been engaged, amplifying the sorrow surrounding the incident.

The three friends were traveling from Bhavnagar to Surat in a car when the driver reportedly dozed off. Losing control of the steering wheel, the vehicle veered off the road and crashed into a nearby tree. The collision was so severe that the car was completely mangled. Two of the occupants, identified as Mahavir Prasad Agrawal (20) and Mitesh Chavda (20), died on the spot, while the third succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the hospital.

Residents of the nearby area rushed to the scene immediately after the crash. They alerted the police and summoned an ambulance to assist the victims. Authorities are currently investigating the incident to gather more details.

The tragic loss of young lives has left the families and communities of the victims in profound grief.

Ankleshwar : In a touching display of humanity, a family from the tribal community has donated the organs of their 32-year-old brain dead son, Yogesh Ramanbhai Vasava, giving new life to seven people. Yogesh's heart, lungs, liver, kidney, and eyes were donated through the Donate Life organization, spreading the message of organ donation far and wide.

Yogesh, a truck driver from Motipara Jambugam Tehsil Walia in Bharuch district, suffered severe head and mouth injuries after falling on November 20. He was rushed to Smt. Jayaben Modi Multispeciality Hospital in Ankleshwar, where he was declared brain dead on November 23.

Despite their grief, Yogesh's family, including his wife Sheetal and father Ramanbhai, decided to donate his organs. "We are from a simple family," Sheetal said. "If donating our son's organs can give new life to others, then we should do it."

Two green corridors were created by the Bharuch City Police, Surat Rural, and Surat City Police to ensure the timely transportation of Yogesh's heart and lungs to Ahmedabad and Mumbai, respectively. His heart was transplanted into a 49-year-old man from Kalol at SIMS Hospital in Ahmedabad, while his lungs were transplanted into a 40-year-old woman from Mumbai at Sir H. Reliance Hospital.

Yogesh's other organs – his liver, kidney, and eyes – were also donated, giving new hope to those in need. The Donate Life organization has now successfully helped over 1,090 people from India and abroad through organ donation.

Ankleshwar, India — In the aftermath of devastating floods caused by the release of millions of cusecs of water from the Sardar Sarovar dam, Ankleshwar and nearby Bharuch city faced substantial flooding along the Narmada River. As the water levels receded, heavy layers of dirt and muck were left behind in the low-lying areas of Ankleshwar. In response, a specialized team from the Surat Municipal Corporation has been deployed to conduct a major cleanup operation for the last three days.

The team from Surat Municipal Corporation, which has prior experience in dealing with flood cleanup, arrived in Ankleshwar soon after the waters began to recede. More than 160 workers have been diligently working to sanitize the area, aiming to prevent potential outbreaks of waterborne diseases, a common aftermath in flood-affected regions.

Cleaning Campaign on War Footing

The Surat Municipal Corporation has initiated this cleanliness campaign on a war footing. "The primary task of our health department right now is to prevent the onset of diseases even before they show any sign of spreading," said an official from the Corporation.

Starting from September 19th, teams from eight different zones of Surat Municipal Corporation filled two buses and headed for Ankleshwar. On the third day of this cleanup operation, 160 employees are continuously spraying pesticides in flood-affected areas. They are also spreading public awareness about sanitation and disease prevention through promotional vehicles.

VADODARA – Bhavesh Mukeshbhai Chauhan, an employee of Ankleshwar Municipality, was located in Vadodara after mysteriously disappearing during his work hours.

Chauhan, a resident of the old vegetable market area in Ankleshwar, left for his municipal duties on the 7th and did not return, prompting his relatives to alert the authorities.

The search for Chauhan took a turn when the Bharuch police received a tip-off about his whereabouts in the Sayajiganj area of Vadodara. Collaborating with the local Sayajiganj police force, various locations were scoured, leading to the discovery of Chauhan seated on a bench outside Kamatibagh.

Following this breakthrough, Sayajiganj police informed their counterparts in Bharuch. Chauhan was subsequently united with his family, specifically his cousin, who accompanied the police to retrieve him.

Investigations are ongoing to understand why Chauhan left Ankleshwar suddenly.

Ankleshwar, 7th August - A chemical processing mishap at the Ritu Pharma Company in Panoli GIDC, Ankleshwar, led to a massive explosion and subsequent blaze late last night. Despite the ferocity of the fire, all employees have been accounted for and are safe.

As per agency report, witnesses reported a deafening explosion before seeing the ensuing inferno, which cast bright flames visible across a vast expanse. Panic ensued as employees and bystanders rapidly evacuated the area.

Prompt action by the Ankleshwar Fire Department saw 10 fire trucks from both Ankleshwar and Panoli responding to the distress call. Firefighters waged a fierce battle against the flames, employing vast amounts of water in their efforts to control the inferno. Officers from the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) and the Factory Inspector were among the officials who promptly arrived at the scene to assess the situation.

This incident is not an isolated one. Chemical companies in areas like Ankleshwar, Dahej, Jhagadia, Bharuch, Walia, and Panoli GIDCs frequently report fire and explosion mishaps. Annually, between 8 to 10 firms experience such disasters, often resulting in injuries or even fatalities. Local employee leaders emphasize the need for strict adherence to the government's preventive guidelines to avoid future tragedies.

A tragic bike accident has turned into a beacon of hope for four people in need of organ transplants. Saddam Khamisha Pathan, a 27-year-old Muslim youth from Kosmadi village of Ankleshwar, was declared brain dead by doctors at Surat's Civil Hospital after sustaining serious head injuries in the accident. The hospital's neurosurgeon persuaded his family to donate his organs, leading to the first pancreas donation in the hospital's history.

After the family's consent, two kidneys, a liver, and the pancreas were donated to the hospital. The organs have the potential to save four lives, and the donation has brought hope to the families of the recipients.

This marks the 19th instance of organ donation at Surat Civil Hospital. While donations of various organs such as heart, kidney, and eye have been received in the past, this is the first time a pancreas has been donated.
