New Delhi, August 01 (HS): Congress leader and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Vadra arrived in Kerala on Thursday and visited various relief camps set up in landslide-affected areas of Wayanad district.

Rahul Gandhi won the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency in the 2019 and 2024 general elections. However, he left the Wayanad constituency after winning the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha seat in Uttar Pradesh in 2024, from where Priyanka is expected to contest the by-election.

Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka Vadra landed at Kannur airport at 9.30 am and then reached Wayanad by road. Congress general secretary and Alappuzha MP KC Venugopal is also accompanying them.

According to their itinerary shared by the party, Rahul and Vadra will visit the Choormala landslide site as well as a community health centre, Dr. Moopen Medical College and two relief camps in Meppadi.

The landslides triggered by torrential rains hit Mundakkai, Chooralmala, Attamala and Noolpuzha settlements. 173 people, including women and children, were killed in the landslides that hit Mundakkai, Chooralmala, Attamala and Noolpuzha settlements in the wee hours of Tuesday.

New Delhi, June 5 (HS): A day after the announcement of the Lok Sabha election results, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote a letter to her brother Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday. She also shared a part of this letter on social media 'X'. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra ended this letter like this - @Rahul Gandhi, I am proud to be your sister.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has said in this letter: "You stood up, no matter what they said and did to you ... you never backed down from adversity, you never stopped believing, no matter how much they doubted your conviction."

Vadra further wrote that "you never stopped fighting for the truth despite the tremendous propaganda of lies spread by them, and you never let anger and hatred dominate you, even if they gift it to you every day."

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also wrote that you fought with love, truth and kindness in your heart. Those who could not see you, see you now, but some of us have always seen and known you as the bravest. "@RahulGandhi, I am proud to be your sister."

Amethi, 4 June (HS): As counting day trends in Uttar Pradesh's Amethi, one of the most closely watched seats in the country, pointed to a Congress victory, senior party official Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tweeted a throwback photo with the Congress' Amethi candidate and Gandhi family loyalist Kishori Lal Sharma. Seven hours into the counting, Sharma is emerging as a giant-slayer, with a roughly one lakh vote advantage over BJP candidate Smriti Irani.

Vadra, who did not run for Lok Sabha, oversaw the party's campaign in Amethi and Raebareli, both of which had previously been represented by members of the Gandhi family. Rahul Gandhi, her brother and Congress leader, is over 3 lakh votes ahead of Dinesh Pratap Singh of the BJP in Rae Bareli.

Vadra stated in the post that accompanied the throwback photo, "Kishori bhaiya, I never doubted, and I believed from the start that you would win. Congratulations to you and all of my Amethi brothers and sisters.?

Sharma surprised many by defeating union Minister Irani, who had previously upset Rahul Gandhi in Amethi. After the Congress picked Sharma as its candidate in the family stronghold, the BJP alleged that the Gandhis were afraid to run in Amethi after Irani won the previous election. The Congress explained its pick by stating that Sharma has worked as an MP's representative in Amethi and Raebareli for decades and is familiar with the local population.

Sharma stated on the campaign trail. He has worked on the Congress' campaigns in Amethi and Raebareli. I am the same as before. This time, leadership has assigned me a different position, and I am working appropriately, he added.

Some BJP officials referred to him as a proxy candidate, with Dinesh Pratap Singj even calling Sharma Rahul Gandhi's "chaprasi" (peon). When asked about this comment, Sharma responded, "These are their values; my father was illiterate, but he taught me good values. I don't want to remark on this.

In the run-up to the election, Gandhi Vadra camped in Amethi and Raebareli, holding nukkad sabhas and public meetings to rally support for Sharma. If the stats are correct, her efforts have paid off.

Amethi, 18 May (HS): Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra attended a roadshow in Jais on Saturday to promote Congress candidate Kishori Lal Sharma. Similarly, at Rae Bareli, she visited a Gurudwara and sought the blessings of martyrs and freedom warriors for the victory of her brother Rahul Gandhi. Campaigning in both Amethi and Rae Bareli Lok Sabha finishes tonight evening, with polls taking place on May 20.

In Amethi, the roadshow began on Jais Circular Road and finished at Gauriganj's bus terminus. During this time, she urged workers to remain together and win elections.

During the tour, Amethi Congress candidate Kishori Lal Sharma was in the van with Priyanka Gandhi. Prior to this, Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, and Akhilesh Yadav, the SP president, spoke at a public meeting in Amethi.

Rahul Gandhi stated that Kishori Lal has worked for Amethi for the past 40 years. If an Indian coalition government is established at the Centre, all development work done for Rae Bareli would be done for Amethi as well. Priyanka Gandhi campaigned for the Congress candidate in Amethi by attending public gatherings on a regular basis. In Rae Bareli, she visited Gurudwara and spent some time there. Priyanka Gandhi has made several visits to holy sites throughout her campaign.

Palanpur : At a Congress rally in Lakhani, Banaskantha, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra targeted the BJP government, accusing it of failing on issues like inflation and unemployment. She criticized PM Modi, alleging that he has eroded people's rights and no longer listens to their demands, contrasting this with the era when villagers could approach the Prime Minister directly for their needs, a tradition she attributed to Mahatma Gandhi.

Priyanka defended her brother, Rahul Gandhi, against accusations of being a "prince," highlighting his extensive travels across the country to understand people's issues. She criticized the Modi government on various fronts, including the leak of exam papers, farmer loan waivers, and GST on agricultural products.

Promising reforms, Priyanka stated that a Congress government would establish a permanent commission for farmer loan waivers, eliminate GST on agricultural goods, ensure prompt compensation for crop losses within 30 days, and raise the minimum wage to Rs 400 nationwide.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Congress National General Secretary, delivered a significant address at Darbar Garh Compound in Dharampur, Valsad district, Gujarat, on Saturday. Despite a helicopter breakdown, she arrived at Dharampur by road from Surat airport. Gandhi emphasized the importance of the Congress Manifesto, named Nyaya Patra, which has sparked discussions nationwide.

Gandhi criticized the lack of progress in people's lives over the past decade, highlighting the need for justice. The Nyaya Patra includes various schemes and guarantees, which the Congress intends to fulfill. One of the key promises made by Gandhi was to declare areas with a significant tribal population as scheduled areas. This designation aims to ensure that these areas receive all necessary facilities and support. Additionally, the Congress intends to set a minimum wage of Rs 400 to prevent exploitation.

Gandhi's speech at Dharampur underscored the party's focus on social justice and inclusive development, particularly for marginalized communities like tribals and SC-ST groups.

New Delhi, Aug 20 (IANS) Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Sunday shared a throwback picture of former Prime Minister of India and her father Rajiv Gandhi on his birth anniversary. The picture in question was clicked by veteran Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who had good relations with Rajiv Gandhi and Indira Gandhi.

Taking to Instagram, Priyanka shared a photo along with a montage video of her father, with a backdrop song of ‘jeena isi ka naam hain’ from the 1959 film ‘Anari’. It was sung by Mukesh. The film starred Raj Kapoor and Nutan.

 In the caption, Priyanka quoted the lines of the song: “Kisi ki muskuraahaton pe ho nisaar, kisi ka dard mil sake to le udhaar, kisi ke vaaste ho tere dil me pyaar, jeena isi ka naam hain.”

Rajiv Gandhi was the sixth Prime Minister of India from 1984-1989. He was assassinated by the militant organisation Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam on May 21, 1991.

New Delhi, May 13 (IANS) Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday offered prayers at the Jakhoo Hanuman Temple in Shimla and prayed for the Congress win in Karnataka.

During her visit to the temple, she sought blessings for the happiness and prosperity of the people.

Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are on a personal visit to Shimla.

Her visit to Jhakoo temple, which has the tallest Lord Hanuman idol in Himachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, as the counting of votes for the Karnataka Assembly elections began on Saturday, Chief Minister and BJP leader Basavaraj Bommai also paid a visit to a Hanuman temple in Hubballi.

On May 9, top leaders of the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress sought the blessings of Lord Anjaneya (Hanuman). The visit went beyond invoking divine blessings as both the parties used the occasion to make a political point.

New Delhi, April 6 (IANS) Days after being released from jail after undergoing rigorous imprisonment in a 1988 road rage case, former Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu on Thursday called on party leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra here and described them as his mentor and guide, respectively.

"Met my Mentor Rahul ji and Friend, Philosopher, Guide Priyanka ji in New Delhi Today," Sidhu said in a tweet.

"You can jail me, intimidate me, block all my financial accounts but my commitment for Punjab and my leaders will neither flinch nor back an inch!!"

Sidhu was released prematurely on April 1, with a remission of 45 days in his prison term.

This was Sidhu's first meeting with Rahul and Priyanka Vadra after his release from the Patiala jail.

Sidhu was lodged in an ordinary barrack as the government has decided to do away with the special cells in jails for VIP prisoners.

Patna, March 1 (IANS) Congress national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is likley to attend and address a rally on the last day of the party's Bihar version of Bharat Jodo Yatra in Gaya.

The yatra began in the state on January 5 from Mandar mountain in Banka district. Three legs of the yatra have concluded and the last leg will start after Holi.

During a meeting at party's headquarters Sadakat Ashram, Congress state president Akhilesh Prasad Singh said: "Top leadership has given a clear indication that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will address a rally in Gaya."

Earlier, there was a buzz that former party president Rahul Gandhi may come to the state on the last day of the yatra to address a rally.

The yatra was supposed to conclude in February end but as the party's national convention was to be held from February 24 to 26 in Raipur, it was was rescheduled.

Now, the last leg will start from Phulwarisharif in Patna after Holi and cover 115 km to reach Gaya.

The exact date of the fourth leg of the yatra is not announced yet.
