Shekhar Natarajan, the inventor of Angelic Intelligence and Founder & CEO of Orchestro.AI, delivered a powerful address at the AI Summit on Trust, Safety, and the Future of AI Governance at Bharat Mandapam on Wednesday, captivating an audience of global policymakers, technology executives, and international media with a bold challenge to the way the world thinks about AI ethics.

Natarajan’s central thesis was striking in its clarity: the current global discourse on AI ethics and governance is fundamentally broken because it is retroactive — attempting to bolt on rules and guardrails after systems are already built. Angelic Intelligence, he argued, represents the next evolution of artificial intelligence itself, one where technology is designed from the ground up to mimic what good humans do.

“The entire world is debating how to govern AI after the fact,” Natarajan told the packed hall. “We are putting fences around a horse that has already left the barn. Angelic Intelligence is fundamentally different. It does not ask how to restrain a machine. It asks how to build a machine that is inherently good — one that mimics the best of human virtue, not the worst of human ambition.”

The summit, held at Conference Hall 1 of the iconic Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, brought together leading voices on AI governance and ethics. But it was Natarajan’s remarks that drew the most phenomenal reception of the day. His presentation was met with sustained applause, and attendees described it as a paradigm-shifting intervention that reframed the entire conversation.

The Angelic Intelligence framework, which Natarajan has protected through a portfolio of over 70 patents, embeds human ethics directly into computational architecture rather than treating morality as an afterthought. It features 27 specialised “Digital Angels” — AI agents that embody cross-cultural virtues such as compassion, justice, and wisdom, and collaborate on ethical decision-making in real time. Unlike existing AI governance frameworks that seek to regulate machine behaviour externally, Angelic Intelligence makes virtue the native language of the machine itself.

“Ethics cannot be a patch. It cannot be a compliance checklist,” Natarajan said. “If you have to teach a machine not to be harmful, you have already built the wrong machine. Angelic Intelligence starts from a different place entirely — it starts from love.”

From Street Lights to the World Stage

Natarajan’s journey to the forefront of global AI ethics is itself a remarkable testament to human resilience. Born in South Central India, he grew up studying under street lights because his family had no electricity. His mother, whose sacrifices defined the trajectory of his life, once pawned her wedding ring for 30 rupees to pay his school fees, and stood outside a headmaster’s office every day for an entire year to secure his admission.

He arrived in America with just $34 in his pocket. What followed was a career that would reshape the logistics and supply chain landscape of some of the world’s most powerful corporations. Over 25 years of Fortune 500 leadership, Natarajan held senior positions at Walmart — where he grew the grocery delivery business from $30 million to $5 billion — as well as Disney, Coca-Cola, PepsiCo, Target, and American Eagle. He holds degrees from Georgia Tech, MIT, Harvard Business School, and IESE.

Yet it was not corporate success but a deeper calling that led Natarajan to found Orchestro.AI and develop Angelic Intelligence. “Every morning at 4 AM, I practise classical Indian painting,” he shared during the summit. “It taught me that the best solutions come not from speed, but from patience. We must build AI with love, not just with code.”

A New Voice in Global AI Governance

During the summit’s media interaction, Natarajan fielded questions from journalists on topics ranging from AI regulation in emerging markets to the practical applications of virtue-based computing for small businesses. His critique of the prevailing retroactive approach to AI governance — and his proactive alternative — generated significant discussion among delegates, many of whom acknowledged the limitations of current regulatory frameworks.

Natarajan’s appearance at Bharat Mandapam comes on the heels of growing international recognition for his work. With invitations to speak at the World Economic Forum and the Future Investment Initiative, he is rapidly emerging as one of the most distinctive and disruptive voices in the global conversation about how artificial intelligence should be built — not merely governed.

“My mother stood outside a headmaster’s office for 365 days so I could get an education,” Natarajan reflected. “That kind of love — that sacrifice — is what I want to encode into the machines we build. If AI cannot understand dignity, it has no business making decisions about human lives.”

The session concluded to a standing ovation, with multiple delegates approaching Natarajan for further discussion on potential collaborations and implementation of the Angelic Intelligence framework across sectors including healthcare, education, and public governance.

As per agency report, the fugitive identified as Fitz Patrick had arrived in Delhi from Bangkok on October 28. He was scheduled to be extradited to the United Kingdom via Thailand but managed to evade officials shortly after landing. Authorities said he slipped out of the immigration area before the completion of formal procedures and exited the airport premises undetected.

Following the escape, Delhi Police and airport security personnel launched an intensive manhunt to locate him. Officials confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered after questioning airline staff and concerned authorities. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), responsible for airport security, has joined hands with the Bureau of Immigration and Delhi Police to trace the fugitive.

CCTV footage from various sections of the airport is being thoroughly examined to establish the sequence of events and identify possible lapses that enabled the escape. Teams have been deployed across the National Capital Region (NCR) to monitor potential hideouts and exit points.

Authorities have assured that coordinated efforts are underway to ensure the recapture of the escaped British national and to prevent similar breaches in the future.

Officials said on Friday that the accused were part of a network that arranged bank accounts for fraudulent transactions and withdrew the defrauded money for a commission.

As per agency report, the arrested men have been identified as 24-year-old Shoaibbhai Multani, a salesman at a tractor company, and 37-year-old Aslambhai Multani, who runs a dairy farm. Police sources said the duo played a crucial role in facilitating financial transactions for an organized cybercrime network operating across multiple states.

The case came to light when a nursing officer at a government hospital in Delhi filed a complaint stating that she received a call on July 19 from a person claiming to be a law enforcement officer. The caller told her that her name had appeared in a money laundering investigation and placed her under alleged “video surveillance.” He then tricked her into transferring Rs 7 lakh to a specified bank account.

Following her complaint, an FIR was registered and an investigation was launched. Police later discovered that 30 percent of the defrauded amount had been transferred to a bank account in Jharkhand, while the remaining 70 percent went to an account in Gujarat. CCTV footage from a bank in Surendranagar showed one of the accused withdrawing money using a cheque, confirming his involvement.

Raids were subsequently conducted in both Jharkhand and Gujarat, leading to the arrest of the two suspects. Another accused, Jitendra Kumar from Jharkhand, had already been apprehended earlier. Police officials said the investigation is ongoing to trace other members of the cyber fraud network.

The slain men were reportedly involved in several cases of murder and extortion in Bihar, police officials confirmed on Thursday.

As per agency report, the deceased were identified as Ranjan Pathak (25), Bimlesh Mahto alias Bimlesh Sahni (25), Manish Pathak (33), and Aman Thakur (21) — all residents of Bihar’s Sitamarhi district and members of the notorious “Sigma Gang.” The encounter, which took place at around 2:20 a.m. on Bahadur Shah Marg in Rohini on Wednesday night, is being described as one of the biggest police operations in Delhi in recent years.

According to investigators, the accused were plotting a series of crimes in Bihar ahead of the upcoming assembly elections. Sources revealed that the gang had carried out a murder earlier this month after the imposition of the Model Code of Conduct on October 6.

Gang leader Ranjan Pathak, who had a reward of Rs. 25,000 on his head, was wanted in eight separate criminal cases. The joint police operation was launched after receiving intelligence that the suspects were hiding in Delhi.

During the raid, the criminals allegedly opened fire on the police team. Officers retaliated in self-defense, leading to a brief but intense gunfight in which all four accused sustained bullet injuries. They were rushed to a nearby hospital in Rohini, where doctors declared them dead on arrival.

Officials said the operation was carried out based on a tip-off shared by Bihar Police, following which Delhi Police’s Crime Branch and a team from Bihar coordinated surveillance and set a trap in the area. Preliminary investigation suggests the gang had been planning major criminal activities in Bihar in the run-up to the state elections.

The Bihar Assembly elections will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, with vote counting scheduled for November 14.

The dense haze led to poor visibility and hazardous breathing conditions across the city.

As per agency report, data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) showed that Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 359 at 11 a.m., placing it in the ‘very poor’ category. Earlier readings showed 352 at 8 a.m., 346 at 5 a.m., 347 at 6 a.m., and 351 at 7 a.m., indicating consistently toxic levels. An AQI between 301 and 400 is categorized as ‘very poor,’ while 401 to 500 falls under the ‘severe’ range.

Out of 38 monitoring stations in the capital, 35 recorded pollution levels in the red zone, ranging from ‘very poor’ to ‘severe.’ According to CPCB’s Sameer app, 31 monitoring centers registered ‘very poor’ air quality, while four were in the ‘severe’ category. Jahangirpuri reported an AQI of 409, Wazirpur 408, Bawana 432, and Burari 405 — all indicating dangerously polluted air.

Environmental activist Bhavreen Kandhari described the situation as a wake-up call for the city, warning that nearly every monitoring center in Delhi had entered the red zone. She said the haze was not only clouding the skies but also damaging children’s lungs, emphasizing that India already faces one of the world’s worst rates of chronic respiratory illnesses. She pointed out that 70 percent of all infectious disease cases in the country are linked to respiratory infections.

Despite the Supreme Court’s order allowing only green firecrackers to be burst between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Diwali, many residents ignored the directive and continued the celebrations late into the night.

On Monday, 36 of Delhi’s 38 monitoring stations had already recorded pollution levels in the red zone, with the city’s 24-hour average AQI at 345, classified as ‘very poor.’ Meteorological forecasts suggest that the air quality is likely to worsen further, slipping into the ‘severe’ category across most parts of the capital on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The arrests were announced by officials on Monday.

The accused have been identified as Prashant Raj Kumar Kadam (25), Shubham Raja Ram Kamble (25), and Vikas Kedar (30), an employee of the jewellery shop. According to police, the incident took place on September 15, when two men dressed as police officers entered the shop and fled with cash and jewellery.

During the investigation, Vikas was taken into custody. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav said that further leads traced Prashant and Shubham to Maharashtra, where they were arrested with the help of local police. Interrogation revealed that Prashant had met Vikas and another associate named Jeevan three years ago at a blood donation camp in Sangli. About two weeks before the crime, Vikas and Jeevan contacted Prashant with a plan to rob his employer’s jewellery store.

They proposed disguising as policemen to avoid resistance from the shop staff. To execute the plan, Prashant roped in his friend Shubham. On September 13, Prashant and Shubham left Sangli on the Goa Express train and arrived in Delhi at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station on September 15. Vikas guided them over a social media call, directing them to Shahdara Metro Station and later instructing them to strike when the shop owner left for lunch.

Around 1:30 pm, when the owner Shankar Pujari stepped out, Prashant and Shubham entered the shop in police uniforms and carried out the robbery. They fled first to Uttam Nagar in an auto-rickshaw and then hired a taxi to Jaipur. Vikas later helped them board a bus to Mumbai while he remained in Jaipur. To cover his tracks, Vikas phoned his employer with a fabricated story, claiming he had been kidnapped and robbed as well.

Police teams reached Jaipur and took Vikas into custody. However, he repeatedly misled investigators with false accounts until sustained interrogation led him to confess. He admitted to being directly involved in planning and facilitating the heist.

As per agency report, investigators are still probing the role of Jeevan, whose involvement in the crime has not yet been fully established. The case remains under further investigation.

According to officials, the intruder entered around 6:30 a.m., climbing the wall from the Rail Bhavan side and making his way toward the Garud Dwar of the new Parliament building. Security staff spotted him wandering inside the complex and immediately detained him.

As per agency report, this is not the first time Parliament security has been compromised. Last year, a 20-year-old man entered the Parliament annexe, an incident captured in a video showing him in shorts and a T-shirt being detained by CISF personnel. No objectionable items were found in his possession.

In December 2023, a major lapse occurred on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament attack, when two men, Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D, disrupted Lok Sabha proceedings by leaping from the visitors’ gallery and releasing yellow smoke inside the chamber. At the same time, two associates, Neelam Azad and Amol Shinde, set off smoke devices outside while shouting slogans. MPs inside the House overpowered the intruders.

Altogether, six people were arrested in that case, including Mahesh Kumawat and Lalit Jha, with Jha identified as the mastermind. Delhi Police later filed a chargesheet exceeding 900 pages in the Patiala House Court detailing the security lapse.

The latest incident has once again raised serious concerns about Parliament’s security apparatus and its preparedness to prevent repeat breaches. Would you like me to also prepare a crisp 200-word version of this update for your English portal?

The order was passed by a special three-judge bench led by Justice Vikram Nath, with Justices Sandeep Mehta and N.V. Anjaria also on the panel.

The court instructed that feeding areas be identified in each municipal ward, taking into account the local stray dog population and density. It further ordered that notice boards be installed near the designated feeding sites, clearly stating that the area is meant for feeding stray dogs. Legal action will be taken against individuals found feeding dogs on streets in violation of these directives.

As per agency report, the order comes in response to increasing reports of unpleasant incidents arising from the unregulated feeding of stray dogs, which the court observed was causing difficulties for the public. Each municipal authority has been directed to establish a helpline for reporting violations, and complaints received through the helpline must be acted upon promptly.

The bench also modified its earlier order of August 11, which had imposed a ban on releasing stray dogs from shelters. It clarified that captured dogs must undergo sterilisation, deworming, and vaccination before being released back into the same area from where they were taken. However, this will not apply to rabies-infected dogs or those suspected of aggressive behaviour.

The Supreme Court reiterated that civic bodies in Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad, and Gurugram must continue removing stray dogs from public areas and ensure their proper care. The court emphasised that the problems arising from stray dogs in Delhi-NCR are largely the result of municipal inaction in implementing animal birth control rules.

The matter originated from a suo motu case taken up on July 28 following media reports of rising rabies cases, particularly among children, due to dog bites in the national capital. The earlier order of August 11 had sparked widespread protests across the country, leading to the matter being referred to the three-judge bench for review.

The court directed concerned officials to ensure that conflicts between humans and dogs in the national capital are effectively minimized.

Justice Mini Pushkarna instructed civic authorities and other stakeholders to submit recommendations for the rehabilitation of stray dogs. As per agency report, the court noted that sterilization alone is not a sufficient solution to address the increasing human-dog conflict, stating that although such measures have been in place for nearly three decades, there has been little noticeable change.

The court pointed out that the effectiveness of sterilization has been exaggerated and remarked that the current strategy is inadequate. During the proceedings, it was also brought to the court's attention that around 200 dogs, previously housed in a shelter, may soon be released back onto the streets due to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) planning to demolish the temporary facility.

Further concerns were raised regarding the functioning of existing animal welfare infrastructure. The court noted that various animal birth control (ABC) centers are currently non-operational, and as many as 78 veterinary hospitals have been shut down.

The court also observed that a recent meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary of Delhi only discussed sterilization as a proposed solution, failing to address the broader need for sustainable rehabilitation mechanisms.

The High Court has scheduled the next hearing for September 17. Previously, the court had urged city authorities to formulate an institutional policy for the phased removal and rehabilitation of stray dogs from the streets and neighborhoods of Delhi.

He breathed his last at 1:12 PM at Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital in Delhi, where he had been undergoing treatment for multiple health complications.

According to his personal staff, Malik had been in the hospital’s intensive care unit for several weeks battling various ailments. The hospital later issued a statement confirming his demise and noted that Malik was suffering from diabetes, kidney disease, high blood pressure, obesity, and sleep apnea. He had been admitted on May 11 due to a complex urinary tract infection which later developed into pneumonia and a condition called refractory septic shock, a severe and life-threatening complication resulting in multi-organ failure.

As per agency report, despite being on ventilator support and receiving intensive care treatment along with multiple antibiotics, Malik’s condition continued to deteriorate. The hospital revealed that in addition to severe kidney disease, he had also developed disseminated intravascular coagulation, a serious disorder causing small blood clots throughout the bloodstream. Due to these complications, he had to undergo multiple hemodialysis sessions before his death on Tuesday.

Malik's cremation will take place on Wednesday at 4 PM at the Lodhi Road crematorium in the national capital.

Satya Pal Malik’s demise marks the end of a politically dynamic and often controversial public life. His contributions to Indian politics, as well as the debates he sparked in his later years, leave a complex legacy behind.
