New Delhi, April 15: In a bid to enhance customer convenience, Bharti Airtel has announced a strategic partnership with quick-commerce platform Blinkit to deliver SIM cards to customers within 10 minutes. As per agency report, this service is being launched in the initial phase across 16 major Indian cities including Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, Ahmedabad, Surat, Chennai, Bhopal, Indore, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Lucknow, Jaipur, Kolkata, and Hyderabad.

According to the official statement, the company plans to expand the service to other cities and towns in the near future. Under this initiative, customers will be able to receive a new SIM card at their doorstep within 10 minutes by paying a nominal delivery fee of Rs 49.

Once the SIM is delivered, customers can activate their number by completing the Aadhaar-based eKYC authentication process as prescribed.

Siddharth Sharma, Director of Marketing at Bharti Airtel, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating that the company is committed to simplifying the lives of its users. He noted that this partnership with Blinkit reflects Airtel’s aim to deliver superior customer service and that the rollout to additional cities is part of their upcoming plans.

The move is expected to redefine SIM card accessibility, especially in urban centers where on-demand services are witnessing rapid growth.

New Delhi, March 12 – A day after signing an agreement with Elon Musk’s SpaceX, Bharti Group founder Sunil Mittal stated that satellite technology will integrate seamlessly with existing 4G, 5G, and future 6G networks, allowing users to carry their mobile phones to even the most remote parts of the world, including skies and oceans.

Both Indian telecom giants, Bharti Airtel and Jio, have signed agreements with SpaceX to provide Starlink’s high-speed internet services in India, as per agency report.

Mittal emphasized that incorporating satellite technology into the telecom sector should be seen as a natural evolution in bringing new advancements to customers. He noted that just as 4G, 5G, and 6G have transformed connectivity, a new technology, referred to as ‘SAT-G,’ is set to expand coverage beyond traditional terrestrial networks. This development will enable users to remain connected even in the most inaccessible regions across the globe.

At the recently concluded Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona, Mittal, during his keynote address, called upon telecom and satellite companies to collaborate, leverage their strengths, and work towards a mission of extending connectivity to remote areas, the skies, and vast oceanic expanses.

New Delhi, Feb 23 (IANS) Bharti Airtel on Thursday announced that it has created 5G experience zones across all its retail stores in the country.

With these specially picked curated zones, Airtel will show consumers the power of 5G by showcasing its "blazing data speeds and emerging use cases like immersive virtual reality entertainment, cloud gaming and more", the company said in a statement.

"Airtel has taken the lead to simplify the new technology for customers and get them to experience the real difference of 5G."

Over 1,000 of such stores will have specially trained executives who will not just explain use cases but also respond to any queries customers might have about 5G along with the company's own offerings.

"Airtel was the first company to launch 5G services in the country and today its services are available across 20 states," it added.

The company is increasing its network in the country while introducing its services in a phased manner.

Customers with 5G compatible smartphones can use the "high-speed" 5G Plus network at no extra cost until the rollout is more widespread since the current data plan works on 5G.

The services from Airtel will work with all 5G smartphones and will deliver the best voice experience on its network.

"In the last year, Airtel has demonstrated the power of 5G with a host of powerful use cases that will change the way customers lead their lives and do business," the company said.
