She praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the armed forces for delivering justice, stating that her entire family and the nation stand firmly behind the government.

In a late-night operation on Tuesday, Indian armed forces launched missile strikes on nine terror camps across Pakistan and PoK, targeting key bases of groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba in Muridke. These strikes were described as a direct response to the deadly assault in Pahalgam’s Baisaran area, a popular tourist destination in South Kashmir often referred to as ‘Mini Switzerland’. The attack claimed 26 lives, most of them tourists, including 26-year-old Lieutenant Vinay Narwal from Haryana.

Speaking to reporters in Karnal, Asha Narwal stated that the government had done the right thing by retaliating. She urged the Indian Army to continue responding strongly to such incidents to ensure they do not recur. “The people who lost their lives have received justice,” she said, adding that such actions would deter future attacks.

Lieutenant Vinay Narwal had recently married and was on his honeymoon in Pahalgam with his wife Himanshi when he was fatally shot by terrorists. The couple had tied the knot just three weeks prior to the attack. A haunting image of Himanshi, sitting beside her husband's body with her head bowed, had gone viral and sparked nationwide outrage and grief over the brutality of the attack.

Dr. Lovkesh Mittal, Head of the Department of Ear, Nose, Throat, and Sleep Apnea Surgery, recently achieved a remarkable breakthrough in treating a high-risk patient with severe obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and a BMI of 48, a milestone in the treatment of high BMI patients who typically face complications with surgical interventions.

The patient, weighing 150 kg and hailing from the NCR region, had struggled for years with the discomfort of CPAP therapy. After a detailed evaluation by Dr. Mittal and the anaesthesia team, it was determined that the patient could be cleared for surgery, despite the global consensus that sleep apnea surgery poses increased risks for individuals with a BMI over 40. Following careful pre-surgical analysis and consultation, the surgery was successfully performed, marking a major victory for both the medical team and the patient.

The surgical intervention focused on identifying and addressing the obstructive sites in the patient’s airway, which were causing significant drops in oxygen levels during sleep. Dr. Mittal explains, “Once the diagnosis of sleep apnea is confirmed through an overnight sleep study, we use endoscopy to find the root causes of airway obstruction. This patient, like many others, was able to understand clearly what was happening in their body and why surgical treatment was the best option.”

Remarkably, after just three days of close monitoring, without the need for an ICU stay, the patient was discharged. Post-surgery, the patient has already reported substantial improvements, including a significant reduction in snoring and choking events. “With improved oxygenation, the patient’s metabolism has accelerated, and they have already begun losing weight. By the second follow-up on day 10, the patient was nearly symptom-free and is now focused on reaching a healthier BMI,” added Dr. Mittal.

This case is a testament to Healing Hospital Chandigarh’s dedication to offering the best possible care for patients with complex and challenging cases of sleep apnea. “As a team, we are always ready to take on challenging cases and deliver results that significantly improve the quality of life for our patients,” stated Dr. Mittal, who brings over 10 years of expertise in the field of sleep apnea surgery.

Patients with symptoms like loud snoring, nighttime choking, or daytime sleepiness are encouraged to seek comprehensive evaluations at Healing Hospital Chandigarh. The hospital offers overnight sleep studies, endoscopy, and tailored surgical interventions to treat sleep apnea at the root, making it a leading center for sleep apnea surgery in India.

There will be peaceful protests at Shambhu and Khanauri borders located along the Haryana entry points till that time.

“Our decision to go to Delhi is on standby. On February 21 at 11 a.m., we will move forward peacefully. Till then we will try to present our points in front of the Centre,” he told the media.

Soon after the fourth round of talks concluded here early Monday in which the Central government proposed to give guarantees on buying five crops from farmers at the MSP, he said, “We will discuss proposals given by the Centre with fellow farmers, take the opinions of experts.”

The crops which the Centre has proposed to buy on assured MSP include three pulses -- arhar, tur and urad, besides cotton and maize. It is proposed that the central agencies such as the NCCF, NAFED and the Cotton Corporation of India will sign a contract for five years to buy the crops from the farmers.

The farmer leaders have been asked by the three-member Union ministers comprising Arjun Munda, Piyush Goyal and Nityanand Rai to discuss their proposal and give their consent before arriving at the final plan from the Central government.

Interacting with the media after the meeting, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said if the MSP is given for this crop then Punjab can lead the country in production of pulses.

He said it will be a second green revolution in the country though Punjab had suffered due to the Green Revolution by loss of its only natural resources in terms of over exploitation of fertile soil and water.

The Chief Minister also said that farmers of the state can adopt cotton and maize only if they get the MSP of these crops.

He said the assured marketing of these crops can encourage the farmers for crop diversification -- a major push to the crop diversification in the country.

He said the country today imports pulses from other countries whereas if farmers get remunerative prices then they can produce these pulses here.

As per the cause list published on the website of the apex court, a Bench presided over by Chief Justice of India (CJI), DY Chandrachud will hear the plea filed by INDIA bloc’s mayoral candidate Kuldeep Kumar on February 19.

Kumar had accused the Presiding Officer of resorting to fraud and forgery in the counting process.

Last week, the top court summoned the official in question to remain present before it on February 19 to explain his conduct.

"During the course of the hearing, the video has been played in court. The Returning Officer shall remain present before this court on the next date of listing to explain his conduct as it appears in the video," said the Supreme Court in an order passed on February 5.

After perusal of the CCTV footage given in the pen drive by senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, representing the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Councillor, CJI Chandrachud had orally observed: "This is a mockery of democracy. He is murdering democracy. Is this the behaviour of a Returning Officer, who looks at the camera and defaces the ballot? It is obvious that he defaced the ballots. This man has to be prosecuted.”

Deferring the February 7 meeting of the Corporation, the Supreme Court ordered that the entire record pertaining to the election, including ballot papers and videography footage would be sequestered under the custody of the Registrar General of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

"Prima facie, at this stage, we are of the considered view that an appropriate interim order was warranted, which the High Court has failed to pass, in order to protect the purity and sanctity of the electoral process," it said.

The AAP and Congress’ joint candidate Kuldeep Kumar has petitioned the top court after the Punjab and Haryana High Court refused to stay the election results held on January 30, for the post of Mayor.

In his petition before the High Court, Kuldeep Kumar alleged complete departure of the practice and rules saying that the presiding officer refused to allow the nominees of parties to monitor the counting of votes.

He prayed for fresh elections in a free and fair manner under the supervision of a retired High Court judge.

Rescuers have been digging a parallel pit for the evacuation of the worker who got struck after a huge mass of earth collapsed and fell on him.

Suresh along with another technician Pawan Kumar had entered the trench to inspect the machine. While they were in the trench, the disaster occurred.

Kumar was successfully rescued, while Yadav got trapped.

Both have been employed by a National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) contractor, which has been laying the Kapurthala-Kartarpur stretch of the expressway.

A team of doctors and ambulances were stationed at the spot to provide emergency aid.

Adequate supply of oxygen inside the trench is being provided to the struck worker.

Mona, who has been named 'Bandit Hasina', from the office of CMS Info Systems Ltd, a cash management firm, based in Ludhiana, along with her spouse Jaswinder Singh while returning from a famous Sikh shrine in Uttarakhand.

Commissioner of Police Mandeep Singh Sidhu confirmed the arrest of the couple. The police also arrested one of their accomplices.

Earlier, the police arrested six accused -- Manjinder Singh Mani, Mandeep Singh, Harvinder Singh, Paramjit Singh, Harpreet Singh and Narinder Singh -- and recovered Rs 5 crore from them.

The police recovered Rs 12 lakh on information about Kaur that was concealed in the under-seat of her mother's scooter.

Responding to the arrest of the couple, Commissioner of Police Sidhu said all the accused had wished that they would pay obeisance at Kedarnath, Haridwar and Hemkund Sahib after a 'successful robbery'.

Kaur and her husband were arrested by a team of Punjab Police while they were returning from Hemkund Sahib.

"When the couple came to know that their accomplices have been arrested, they begged pardon at Gurdwara Hemkund Sahib for the crime," Sidhu said. They got married in February.

The gang of alleged robbers was led by Mandeep Kaur, whose husband and cousin were also blamed for the heist.

She in connivance with her friend and CMS employee Manjinder Singh Mani, had planned the robbery. They along with their eight accomplices looted Rs 8.49 crore from the office of the CMS firm, in the early hours of June 10.

Sidhu blamed the company for negligence in the safety of the cash.

He said Rs 50 lakh was recovered from the house of Mani in Abuwal village. He had hidden the cash in a septic tank after wrapping the bundles in a polythene bag.

On Friday, the police launched the operation "Let's Cage the Queen Bee" to arrest the main mastermind Mandeep Kaur and her husband.
