New Delhi, May 3 – The recently released film 'Raid 2', starring Ajay Devgn, has earned Rs 32.76 crore at the box office within its first two days, as per agency report. The announcement was made by the film's producers on Saturday.

Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, 'Raid 2' hit theatres on Thursday and serves as the sequel to the 2018 film 'Raid', where Devgn portrayed the role of IRS officer Amay Patnaik. The movie continues the storyline centered on high-stakes investigations and tax raids.

According to production house T-Series, the film grossed Rs 19.71 crore on its opening day and added another Rs 13.05 crore on the second day, bringing the total to Rs 32.76 crore in domestic collections.

The film’s promotional post on social media platform X stated that the impact of this "raid" would resonate far and wide, urging audiences to book their tickets. 'Raid 2' features Ritesh Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor in significant roles alongside Devgn.

Mumbai, March 28 – The much-awaited teaser of Ajay Devgn’s upcoming film Raid 2 has been released, offering fans a glimpse into the high-stakes drama and intense action awaiting them. Reprising his iconic role as fearless IRS officer Amay Patnaik, Devgn is seen raiding the residence of powerful politician 'Dada Bhai', played by Riteish Deshmukh.

The teaser features Devgn delivering a powerful line that has already captured viewers’ attention: "Maine kab kaha main Pandav hoon, main to poori Mahabharat hoon" – raising the suspense and excitement surrounding the film.

Sharing the teaser on Instagram, Devgn wrote, “Raid. 4,200 crore. This time, the stakes are higher than ever! Raid 2 teaser out now. The film hits theatres on May 1, 2025.”

Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, Raid 2 continues the story of IRS officer Amay Patnaik, who is now taking on a massive financial scam worth Rs 4,200 crore. The sequel is inspired by real-life income tax raids and showcases the officer’s mission to uncover black money hoarded by corrupt officials and politicians. Riteish Deshmukh portrays a powerful antagonist, while Vaani Kapoor joins the cast in a significant role, replacing Ileana D’Cruz from the original film.

The film marks the continuation of the 2018 hit Raid, which received critical and commercial acclaim for its gripping storyline and strong performances. According to the filmmakers, the idea for a sequel was officially announced in April 2020, with pre-production starting in August 2022.

'On Duty! AGAIN,' the 55-year-old actor captioned the photo clicked during the Jammu and Kashmir shooting schedule of Rohit Shetty's Singham Again, slated to hit theatres on August 15. We see him sporting black shades and leaning against a battle tank in the backdrop of snow-capped mountains of Kashmir.

Mumbai, Jan 19 (IANS) Bollywood actors R Madhavan, and Ajay Devgn on Friday unveiled the poster of their upcoming film titled 'Shaitaan', which is a black magic horror movie, co-starring Jyotika.

Taking to the social media, Madhavan dropped the glimpse of Shaitaan's poster, which features a series of red and black voodoo dolls, giving an eerie feeling. It is dubbed to be the most gripping supernatural film of the year.

Voodoo doll is typically used in various forms in the magical traditions.

Sharing the poster, Madhavan wrote: “The reign of #Shaitaan is upon us. Taking over cinemas on March 8, 2024.”

Ajay captioned the poster as: “#Shaitaan is coming for you.”

Directed by Vikas Bahl, the plot line of the film has been kept under wraps by the makers.

Mumbai, Jan 8 (IANS) Actress Vaani Kapoor will be seen as the lead opposite Ajay Devgn in Raid 2.

The actress is known for her performances in films like Shudh Desi Romance and Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui and War.

The film, which is a sequel to the 2018 film 'Raid', has gone on floor on January 6 in Mumbai and brings together director Rajkumar Gupta and producers Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Krishan Kumar.

The film is scheduled to be shot extensively in Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.

‘Raid 2’ is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak and Krishan Kumar. The film is presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series and is a Panorama Studios production.

The film will release theatrically on 15 November 2024.

Mumbai, May 21 (IANS) Ajay Devgn and Tabu-starrer 'Drishyam' franchise is transcending boundaries as it is set to be adapted for the South Korean audiences with the official Korean remake. 'Drishyam' is an Indian franchise that has delivered success in every Indian language be it Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu or Hindi.

The announcement happened on Sunday at India Pavilion at the ongoing edition of Cannes Film Festival.

Indian production company, Panorama Studios, and Anthology Studios, founded by former Warner Bros. local Korean production head, Jay Choi, 'Parasite' actor Song Kang-ho and acclaimed director Kim Jee-woon have partnered for the Korean remake.

The first part of 'Drishyam', directed by the late Nishikant Kamat, revolves around Vijay Salgaonkar whose simple world splinters after an accidental death involving his family and his desperate measures to shield them from the law. With applause-worthy performances from Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Kamlesh Sawant, the film was a huge success.

Producer Kumar Mangat Pathak said, "I'm excited that 'Drishyam' franchise is being made in Korean, a first for a Hindi film. This will not only increase its reach outside India but will also put Hindi cinema on the global map. All these years, we have been inspired by Korean fare, now they have found a muse in one of our films. What can be a bigger achievement for the Indian film fraternity!"

Jay Choi is equally upbeat about the collaboration. He said, "We are thrilled to have an opportunity to remake a massively successful Hindi film with a touch of originality from Korean cinema. And the remake has greater significance as the first major co-production between Korea and India. Through our partnership, we will be able to bring the best of both Indian and Korean cinema and make a meaningful remake that is as excellent as the original".

Pointing out that the film keeps you hooked with its twists and turns, Kumar Mangat Pathak is confident the 'Drishyam' franchise will find an audience in Korea [and the rest of the world] too. "This is the beginning of a valuable cultural exchange between both countries and their film industries," he signed off.

Mumbai, April 23 (IANS) Bollywood superstar Ajay Devgn's upcoming film 'Singham Again' has shifted its release to an early date.

The film, third instalment of the 'Singham' franchise, was earlier supposed to release on Diwali 2024. But as per the new development, the film will now arrive in cinemas on August 15, 2024.

The film will be directed by Rohit Shetty who has earlier helmed the two films from the franchise.

'Singham Again' will go to floors in August 2023.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the update on his Twitter recently.

He tweeted: "#Xclusiv... Ajay Devgn - Rohit Shetty: 'Singham Again' ON Independence Day 2024 - #SinghamAgain - the third part in #RohitShetty's super-successful #Singham franchise - to release on August 15, 2024 #IndependenceDay. #AjayDevgn returns as #BajiraoSingham... starts August 2023."

The film will see Deepika Padukone in a cop avatar.
