New Delhi, May 22: Samsung has started manufacturing its slimmest smartphone yet, the ‘Galaxy S25 Edge,’ in India. The South Korean tech giant confirmed the development on Thursday, just days after launching the device in global markets, including India, on May 13.

Targeted at users who prefer a sleek and lightweight device without compromising on performance, the Galaxy S25 Edge is built on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite mobile platform and comes loaded with all the advanced Galaxy AI features. The company stated that the smartphone is being produced at its Noida facility, which has been central to Samsung’s manufacturing operations in India.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is priced between Rs 1.09 lakh and Rs 1.22 lakh, depending on the configuration. As per agency report, the model is part of Samsung’s broader effort to strengthen its position in the premium smartphone segment in India.

According to Counterpoint Research, Apple and Samsung together accounted for 94 percent of all smartphones manufactured in India in 2024. Samsung alone captured a 17 percent market share in the Indian smartphone sector during the January–March quarter of 2025, supported largely by the success of its flagship S-series devices.

The S25 Ultra series in particular has contributed significantly to Samsung’s dominance in the premium category. The local production of the Galaxy S25 Edge further underscores the company’s commitment to its ‘Make in India’ initiative and its focus on delivering high-end innovation to Indian consumers.

New Delhi, March 8 – South Korean tech giant Samsung is preparing to introduce its highly anticipated tri-foldable smartphone, which was recently teased during its Galaxy Unpacked event. According to fresh reports, the production of this new foldable device could begin soon, marking a significant addition to Samsung’s Galaxy Z series lineup.

As per agency reports, Samsung plans to start sourcing necessary components in April, alongside ramping up production for its next-generation foldable phones. The tri-fold smartphone is expected to be launched between July and September this year, aligning with the release schedule of the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip. Speculation is also growing over the device’s official name, with some reports suggesting it could be called the Galaxy G Fold, distinguishing it from the existing Z Fold lineup.

Unlike Samsung’s previous foldable phones, the new tri-fold design will allow the device to fold inwards twice, setting it apart from Huawei’s Mate X T, which folds differently. The Samsung tri-fold is rumored to feature a 9.96-inch display when fully unfolded, slightly smaller than the Huawei Mate X T’s 10.2-inch screen. However, compared to other Samsung foldables, it will offer a larger display, providing users with an enhanced viewing experience.

Despite offering a sizable screen, the device’s weight is expected to be similar to Huawei’s tri-fold smartphone, which weighs approximately 298 grams. However, due to its inward-folding mechanism, Samsung’s version may be slightly thicker than its competitor.

Huawei was the first company to introduce a tri-fold smartphone last year with the Mate X T, which has recently expanded into global markets. Samsung’s entry into this segment is expected to intensify competition in the foldable smartphone industry, with the company leveraging its advanced display technology to offer an innovative and user-friendly experience.

New Delhi, Jan 25 (IANS) Samsung on Thursday announced a tie-up with quick-commerce platform Blinkit to deliver its newly launched Galaxy S24 series in India.

Customers living in Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru and Mumbai can order Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 smartphones on Blinkit and get the phone delivered in less than 10 minutes, the company said.

According to the company, the collaboration with Blinkit will help Samsung cater to the huge demand for its flagship S24 series in the country.

People purchasing the Galaxy S24 series on Blinkit can avail an instant cashback of Rs 5,000 if the purchase is done through HDFC Bank credit card.

New Delhi, Jan 12 (IANS) Samsung on Friday launched blood pressure (BP) and electrocardiogram (ECG) tracking features for the Galaxy Watch6 series for the first time in India through an OTA (over-the-air) rollout.

With the Samsung Health Monitor BP and ECG tracking, users can monitor their health, support their fitness regimes and enable regular health checkups.

Users can download the Samsung Health Monitor App, available on the Galaxy Store, and follow simple instructions to measure their BP and ECG.

Both features will also be made available on the Galaxy Watch4 and Watch5 series, the company said.

"The BP and ECG tracking features via Samsung Health Monitor App have received regulatory clearances and certifications from India’s Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation," Samsung said.

Seoul, Dec 28 (IANS) Samsung has said that its AI-powered smart refrigerator -- Bespoke 4-Door Flex Refrigerator with AI Family Hub+, which it planning to unveil at CES next year, will create recipes based on your dietary requirements.

The refrigerator will equipped with the all-new AI Vision Inside feature, the new Anyplace Induction Cooktop and enhancements to the Samsung Food service.

With the food list that is available and editable on the Family Hub+ screen, users can also manually add expiration date information for items that they would like to keep track and the refrigerator sends out alerts through its 32-inch LCD screen for items before reaching that date, the company said.

New Delhi, Oct 23 (IANS) Samsung on Monday announced its new Galaxy Tab A9 series in India, which will come in two sizes -- one with an 8.7 display and the other in an 11-inch display.

The new series, which includes -- Tab A9 and Tab A9+, will come in three colours -- Graphite, Silver and Navy, and will be available to purchase from October 23.

"With the latest Galaxy Tab A series release, we're making it easier than ever for all to enjoy great entertainment and productive multitasking across the entire Galaxy ecosystem," TM Roh, President and Head of Samsung Electronics' Mobile eXperience Business, said in a statement.

Both tablets will come in two storage variants -- 4GB+64GB and 8GB+128GB. The Tab A9 will come with an 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera, while the Tab A9+ will come with an 8MP rear camera and 5MP front camera.

The Tab A9 comes powered by a 5,100mAh battery, while the Tab A9+ comes with a 7,040mAh battery.

In terms of refresh rate, the Tab A9 features up to 60Hz refresh rate, and the Tab A9+ features up to 90Hz.

"Galaxy Tab A9+ users can get lost in cinematic experiences, thanks to a 90Hz refresh rate -- for lag-free gaming or scrolling -- and enjoy immersive sound with Quad speakers, powered by Dolby Atmos," the company said.

Moreover, the company mentioned that both tablets feature sleek, unibody designs with a soft texture back cover, making them easy to handle. The Tab A9+ also brings PC-level multitasking to the tablet with Samsung DeX, and the multi-active window allows up to three split screens to maximise the ability to do more at once. Galaxy S23 FE will feature Samsung’s flagship Nightography or Night Mode feature that enables users to take great photos, even in the dark.
