The pilgrimage, which began on Friday, is a significant event for Hindus in Pakistan, drawing devotees from various parts of the country.

As per agency report, the Hinglaj Mata Temple, located atop a mountain, is revered in Hinduism, believed to be the site where the remains of Mata Sati fell on earth. During the three-day pilgrimage, devotees climb hundreds of stairs to reach the temple and offer their prayers.

The pilgrimage holds special importance for Pakistan's Hindu community, which constitutes approximately 2.14 percent of the country's population, with an estimated 44 lakh Hindus residing in the Muslim-majority nation. Despite their minority status, Hindu festivals and religious events, such as the Hinglaj Mata Temple pilgrimage, are celebrated with enthusiasm and participation from across the community.

Maharaj Gopal, the temple's senior priest, described the pilgrimage as one of the most sacred in Hinduism, emphasizing that those who visit the temple and worship during these three days are believed to be freed from all sins. The conclusion of the pilgrimage marks the end of a spiritually enriching event for the Hindu community in Pakistan, reaffirming their cultural and religious heritage.

Dehradun - The Chardham Yatra, a pilgrimage to the divine abodes of Shri Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri, is set to become smoother and more environmentally friendly. This year, the yatra will not only offer a spiritual journey but also promote environmental protection and cleanliness.

To reduce pollution and promote sustainability, electric vehicles will now ply on the Chardham Yatra route in Uttarakhand. RTO Sunil Sharma announced that electric vehicles, both commercial and private, are encouraged for the pilgrimage. Charging stations will be available along the route, accessible through a dedicated app. This shift towards electric vehicles comes after concerns were raised in a meeting of the Divisional Transport Authority in February 2018 regarding rising pollution levels from vehicles.

Preparations for the world-famous Chardham Yatra have begun with full force, scheduled to commence on May 10. The health department has made arrangements to provide better health facilities to pilgrims, especially the elderly. The yatra is expected to attract devotees from across the country and the world, highlighting the importance of safe and sustainable travel.

Before the yatra commences, the state government is establishing electric vehicle charging stations every thirty kilometers along the route. These stations will cater to electric cars and buses, ensuring a hassle-free journey. Previously, the lack of charging points deterred electric vehicle owners and drivers from traveling long distances, but with these new stations, the journey to Chardham will be more convenient.

A state-level control room for the Chardham Yatra is operational at the Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council Headquarters from 7 am to 10 pm daily throughout the yatra period.

So far, 1,566,867 devotees have registered for the Chardham Yatra and Hemkund Sahib, with a significant number of registrations for each of the four Dhams and Hemkund Sahib.

The launch was even more special as the book is named after Bapu’s guru and grandfather, Tribhuvana.

The word ‘Tribhuvana’ (t-r-ih-bh-uv-v-uh-n) in Sanskrit signifies the three regions of the universe – heaven, earth, and the nether world. Sutras are a collection of doctrines relating to different aspects of life.

This collection has been brought forth by the famous Ramayana exponent as wise words of advice on how to face tribulations. It also contains narratives on some gems of Hinduism which were recited during the peak period of the Covid pandemic.

For Morari Bapu, the book captures his grandfather’s thoughts and is thus “Tribhuvana Sutras”. Because these are universal and apply till infinity, they are “for the Tribhuvana”.

What adds to their magnificence is that these were narrated under the cool shade of the ‘Tribhuvana Vata’, the Banyan tree under which Morari Bapu started his journey of ‘Ram Katha’ and from where it reached all corners of the world.

Essentially, ‘Tribhuvana Sutras for the Tribhuvana’ captures the profound conversations held by Morari Bapu during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Seated under the sacred banyan tree in his village called Talgajarda in Gujarat, he reached millions globally through video, delving into Indian mythology and spirituality.

Bapu’s daily discourses during the Lockdown, known as ‘Hari Katha,’ touched subjects that are based on Sutras (meaningful extracts), offering enduring potency and meaning to our lives. The book transcribes these dialogues into evocative summaries, capturing the essence of each day’s theme and message. It serves as a source of inspiration and guidance, offering a pathway to learning, healing and introspection.

‘Tribhuvana Sutras for the Tribhuvana’ has also been listed for the World Book Fair to be held in New Delhi in February 2024.

It is available for purchase on Amazon: https://www.amazon.in/dp/9357415858?ref=myi_title_dp

The event also featured a program of flag transfer as a symbol of change in the system, in which the Jain flag was transferred from the Pravas Vyavastha Samiti Surat to the Acharya Mahashraman Chaturmas Pravas Vyavastha Samiti, Mumbai. The program ended with Acharyashree reciting Mangalpath.

From a religious perspective, this festival was a celebration of the initiation of Acharyashree Mahashramanji into the Terapanth Dharmasangh, and his journey towards non-violence and self-control. The festival provided an opportunity for the devotees to offer their prayers and seek blessings from their deity. It also provided a platform for the youth to express their faith and dedication towards their religion. The festival highlighted the importance of following the thirteen rules and practicing self-control, which are the core principles of Terapanth Dharmasangh.

The apex court said Hinduism is not a religion but a way of life.

A bench comprising Justices K.M. Joseph and B.V. Nagarathna also observed that there is no bigotry in Hinduism. The bench told petitioner-advocate Ashwini Upadhyay: "Don't dig up the past which will only create disharmony... Can't have the country on the boil."

During the hearing, the bench stressed that India is a secular country and the history of the past cannot be allowed to haunt the present generation.

"India is a secular country, this is a secular forum. We are supposed to protect the Constitution and all sections," it said.

Emphasizing that Hinduism is a way of life not just a religion, the bench said: We have assimilated all cultures. Let's not break it up by such kind of petitions .Hinduism is a way of life and there is no bigotry in it. You or this court should not become instrument to create havoc."

The petitioner sought a direction to the Union Home Ministry to set up a "renaming commission" to find out original names of ancient historical cultural religious places, called after "foreign invaders".

Citing the importance of renaming, the plea argued that it is necessary in order to maintain sovereignty and to secure aright to dignity, right to religion and right to culture' guaranteed under Articles 21, 25 and 29 of the Constitution.

The petitioner cited several examples of hundreds of such cities, and places, and sought a direction to the Archaeological Survey of India to research and publish the initial names of ancient historical cultural religious places.

Vice chairman of ADA, Vishal Singh said, "Plans are on to make the facilities, to be built at an outlay of Rs 13.50 crore, available to visitors by the end of this year."

Over the past two years, more than Rs 40 crore have been infused to change the layout and overall look of Guptar Ghat.

A 24-metre-wide new link road, parking bays for up to 430 vehicles and construction of 1.15 km long embankment along the Guptar Ghat have been completed.

"Situated in the Cantt area, the existing road is not wide enough to take on increased traffic load and hence a new link road has been developed," said the ADA officer.

The officer said the basic infrastructure and civil works have been commissioned at the site and now only beautification work needs to be done.

A colonnaded frontage will also be developed at the riverside food kiosk complex with canopy seating.

Multimedia programmes and scenographic exhibitions will be set to emphasize on the heritage connection with the tourists.

He wishes to gift his artistic works to celebrities including President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The sari trader Haji Irshad Ali (53), has also written the holy Quran, Hanuman Chalisa and other religious texts in the similar style on cotton fabric.

"When I was 14, I started writing Shahadatain on a piece of half-metre cloth to be put on the shroud before the burial of the dead," said Irshad,

Shahadatain literally means declaration of faith - to declare there is only one God, Allah, and that Muhammad is his messenger.

"The passion for writing grew further, and I decided to script the holy Quran on fabric pieces. It took almost six years to complete all the 30 paragraphs of Quran with the handmade ink made with the soil of the Ganga, Aab-e-Zamzam (water from Zamzam well), jafran (saffron) and gond (adhesive)," he told reporters.

The famous Banarasi silk brocade has been used for the binding of the bulky book.

For writing the Bhagavad Gita in the same style and size, he used Ganga jal (Ganga water) along with Ganga soil and adhesive to prepare the ink for this work.

He learnt Sanskrit to understand Gita.

"I bought a Sanskrit translation book and took help of local priest to learn the language," he said.

He has also written Vishnu Sahasranama, Hanuman Chalisa and the National Anthem on cotton fabric pieces.

Interestingly, his entire family is involved in this passion of writing. He said that all the family members, including wife, two daughters and two sons support him in this work.

The cloth sheets are prepared by his wife and daughters, while ink is prepared by his sons.
