Under PMAY-Rural scheme Under the guidance of Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel, the Gujarat government has set a target to provide every needy family in the state with a house under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Rural by 2024. A total of 1,42,186 houses have been sanctioned across various districts in the state.

Last year, 15,000 houses in Ambaji, one lakh houses in Vadodara, and 9,800 houses in Dahod were inaugurated by the Prime Minister. The first installment of more than Rs.169 crore has been initiated for the transfer of funds to the accounts of 56,358 beneficiaries, and Rs. 45 crore has been paid by the state government as assistance to 22,500 beneficiaries who completed housing construction within six months under the scheme.

In addition, the Chief Minister has allocated an additional Rs. 5,000 assistance, and a total of 31,385 beneficiaries will receive Rs. 15.69 crore directly deposited into their bank accounts. The Central Government has set a target of 1,84,605 housing units for the year 2022-23, and 1,42,186 housing units have been sanctioned so far. The residences are planned to reach the plinth level by May 2023.

Surat, Monday: The Minister of State for Education, Shri Prafulbhai Pansheriya, inaugurated 14 homes approved under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) in Haldhru village of Kamraj taluk. Launched in 2015 under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, PMAY is a Central Government initiative aimed at providing affordable housing to the economically weaker sections of society.

The 14 beneficiaries in Haldhru village will receive housing at a cost of Rs. 1.20 lakh per beneficiary under the PM Awas Yojana. During the inauguration, the minister interacted with the girls in the village and encouraged them to pursue a bright future through education.

Several local leaders were present at the event, including the Taluka Panchayat President, Ajitbhai Ahir, T. Panchayat Executive Chairman Rasikbhai Patel, Sarpanch Jayeshbhai Rathod, and Gram Panchayat members. The inauguration marked a major step towards providing adequate and affordable housing to those in need in Haldhru village and the surrounding areas.
