Gandhinagar, October 18: The Gujarat government signed an MoU with the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Center (IN-SPACE) on Wednesday to set up a space manufacturing cluster in Sanand. IN-SPACE, an autonomous agency of the Department of Space, will provide promotion and technical guidance to various manufacturing industry operations related to space technology in the cluster.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that the state government will provide full cooperation in providing land and infrastructure for industries in the space and allied sectors in this important project.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Industries Minister Balwant Singh Rajput, Minister of State for Industries Harsh Sanghvi, Chief Secretary Raj Kumar, IN-SPACE Chairman Dr. Pawan Kumar Goenka, Joint Secretary Lochan Shehra, renowned scientist and Director Technical of In-Space Dr. Rajeev Jyoti, and senior secretaries of Gujarat Government.

The space manufacturing cluster in Sanand is expected to contribute to India's ambitious space goals, which include having a space station by 2035 and a manned mission to the Moon by 2040.

The MoU is a significant development for Gujarat, which is already a major player in the Indian aerospace sector. The state is home to several leading aerospace companies, including Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Larsen & Toubro, and Reliance Industries. The space manufacturing cluster in Sanand is expected to further boost Gujarat's aerospace industry and create new jobs and opportunities.

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], September 22: Emcure Pharmaceuticals, one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in India, organised a mega tree plantation drive on Sunday.

The tree plantation drive was undertaken at Emcure Pharmaceuticals’ plant in Sanand in association with Sanand GIDC and CATCH Foundation, the CSR partner for the event.

Ex MLA Shree Kamabhai Rathod along with other local leaders and officials were at the tree plantation drive. To begin the drive today, 73 trees were planted today as a part of the drive,  the drive will continue for 5 days to cover a 3-kilometer road inside Sanand GIDC.

Ahmedabad, June 28 (IANS) The Gujarat government is set to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Micron Technology, a leading semiconductor chip making company based in the United States, on Wednesday.

The signing ceremony will take place in the presence of the State Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. The MoU aims to establish a semiconductor Assembly and test facility at Sanand in the Ahmedabad district.

Micron Technology had previously announced its plans to set up a semiconductor assembly and test plant in Gujarat on June 22. The total investment for this venture is estimated to be USD 2.75 billion (approximately Rs 22,540 crore).

The joint statement issued by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Joe Biden acknowledged the signing of the MoU on Semiconductor Supply Chain and Innovation Partnership as a significant step in coordinating the semiconductor incentive programs of both countries.

This collaboration is expected to boost commercial opportunities, research initiatives, talent development, and skill enhancement. 

As part of this collaboration, Micron Technology, Inc. has committed to investing up to $825 million in building a new semiconductor assembly and test facility in India, with support from the Indian government. The combined investment of $2.75 billion is projected to create around 5,000 direct jobs and offer 15,000 community job opportunities over the next five years.

The joint statement also highlighted other notable initiatives in the semiconductor industry. Lam Research, a global leader in semiconductor manufacturing equipment, has proposed to train 60,000 Indian engineers through its Semiverse Solution virtual fabrication platform, aiming to accelerate India's semiconductor education and workforce development goals. Additionally, Applied Materials, Inc. has announced a $400 million investment to establish a collaborative engineering center in India.

Gandhinagar, Monday: The government of Gujarat signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mettube Copper India Private Limited, a leading company in the production and development of copper tubes, in the presence of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel and the Minister of Industry and Minister of State for Industry. The aim is to establish a state-of-the-art copper tube manufacturing plant in the Sanand-II Industrial Area, with a planned start of production in January 2024.

The plant, which will be the first of its kind in India, will help the country realize the goal of self-reliant India as set forth by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The proposed plant will also reduce the carbon footprint of future devices by producing fifth-generation copper tubes, which are eco-friendly and highly efficient.

The chairman of Mettube Copper India, Shri Apurv Bagri, said that the company operates a large plant in Malaysia and has chosen Sanand in Gujarat for the proposed copper tube project due to the incentives provided by the central government to promote copper tube manufacturing in the country.

Approximately 1500 direct and indirect jobs will be created through the eco-system of the first phase of the project. The state government has promised to provide appropriate assistance to start the proposed plant in Gujarat.

In conclusion, the establishment of this copper tube manufacturing plant in Gujarat will not only provide employment opportunities but also contribute to the growth of the country's economy and industry.
