New Delhi, Oct 24 – Delhi Police have arrested two men from Gujarat’s Surendranagar district for their alleged involvement in a cyber fraud case in which a woman from Delhi was cheated of Rs 7 lakh. Officials said on Friday that the accused were part of a network that arranged bank accounts for fraudulent transactions and withdrew the defrauded money for a commission.

As per agency report, the arrested men have been identified as 24-year-old Shoaibbhai Multani, a salesman at a tractor company, and 37-year-old Aslambhai Multani, who runs a dairy farm. Police sources said the duo played a crucial role in facilitating financial transactions for an organized cybercrime network operating across multiple states.

The case came to light when a nursing officer at a government hospital in Delhi filed a complaint stating that she received a call on July 19 from a person claiming to be a law enforcement officer. The caller told her that her name had appeared in a money laundering investigation and placed her under alleged “video surveillance.” He then tricked her into transferring Rs 7 lakh to a specified bank account.

Following her complaint, an FIR was registered and an investigation was launched. Police later discovered that 30 percent of the defrauded amount had been transferred to a bank account in Jharkhand, while the remaining 70 percent went to an account in Gujarat. CCTV footage from a bank in Surendranagar showed one of the accused withdrawing money using a cheque, confirming his involvement.

Raids were subsequently conducted in both Jharkhand and Gujarat, leading to the arrest of the two suspects. Another accused, Jitendra Kumar from Jharkhand, had already been apprehended earlier. Police officials said the investigation is ongoing to trace other members of the cyber fraud network.

Surendranagar, March 30 – Authorities in Gujarat’s Surendranagar district have detained 21 individuals for allegedly acquiring arms licenses through suspicious means from Nagaland and Manipur and using them to purchase firearms. As per agency report, at least 25 weapons have been confiscated in connection with the case.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Nikunj Patel, 17 of the detainees purchased 25 firearms worth approximately Rs 25 lakh, while the remaining four had obtained licenses but had not yet purchased any weapons. Among those who bought weapons, 14 individuals have criminal backgrounds, with charges ranging from murder and attempted murder to extortion and illegal mining. The criminal records of the remaining three are currently under investigation.

The case surfaced after police received intelligence indicating that several individuals in Surendranagar had procured arms licenses from other states, particularly Nagaland and Manipur. Following this lead, the police identified 21 persons who allegedly used fake documents and worked through agents based in Gujarat, Haryana, and the two northeastern states to obtain the licenses.

Authorities have since launched a detailed probe into the matter, seizing the weapons and related documents. Patel stated that further legal action is underway to investigate the scope of the license procurement network and determine whether other individuals are involved in similar illegal activities.

Surendranagar, Gujarat, March 18 – Police in Gujarat’s Surendranagar district have arrested two individuals for allegedly offering cash incentives and other benefits to persuade local residents to convert to Christianity. As per agency report, the arrests were made after a complaint was filed on Monday, accusing the suspects of attempting to lure people into religious conversion by offering ₹20,000 along with additional benefits.

According to the complaint, the accused had assured potential converts that adopting Christianity would help them overcome health issues and financial difficulties, citing their own experiences as proof. They reportedly approached residents in the Wadali town area and tried to convince them to change their faith.

Police identified the accused as Ratilal Parmar, a resident of Surendranagar, and Bhanwarlal Pardhi from Udaipur, Rajasthan. Inspector D. R. Padheria of the Wadali police station confirmed their arrest, stating that they were apprehended after engaging with locals and allegedly making offers for religious conversion.

The complaint was filed by a local resident, Ranjit Bhangu, who claimed that the accused also made derogatory remarks against Hindu deities, which hurt his religious sentiments. Bhangu subsequently informed members of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal, who arrived at the location where the accused were attempting to convince people to convert.

Following their intervention, VHP and Bajrang Dal activists approached the Wadali police, demanding legal action against the accused. The police subsequently registered a case under Section 299 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for deliberately insulting religious beliefs, along with relevant provisions of the Gujarat Freedom of Religion (Amendment) Act. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are examining further details regarding the accused’s activities in the region.

Surendranagar, March 18: Three people lost their lives in a tragic road accident on Monday morning in Surendranagar district. The accident occurred near Akhiana-Malvan village on the Dhrangadhra-Malvan highway.

Head-On Collision Proves Fatal

The accident unfolded when a car traveling on the highway collided with the rear of a moving truck. The impact of the collision was severe, causing two young men to be pronounced dead at the scene. A third occupant of the car sustained critical injuries and succumbed to them while being transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Gruesome Scene and Identification of Victims

Emergency personnel had to employ cutting tools to extricate the bodies of the deceased from the mangled wreckage of the car. The victims have been identified as Wasim Khan Gedia, Javed Khan Kherwa (25), and Hazrat Shah Rasulsha Kherwa (35). All three individuals reportedly belonged to Gedia village.

Investigation Underway

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. CCTV footage from the area reportedly captured the incident, showing the car traveling at high speed before colliding with the truck. The bodies of the deceased have been transferred to the Patdi Government Hospital for post-mortem examination.

A grim accident struck near Bubwana village in Surendranagar district on Monday morning, claiming the lives of three workers and injuring six others. A tractor trolley carrying farm laborers tragically collided with an electric wire, resulting in electrocution and burns.

The incident unfolded as the workers, all hailing from Alirajpur tehsil in Madhya Pradesh, were traveling to their fields on the tractor trolley. Near Bubwana, the vehicle came into contact with a low-hanging electrical wire, sending a surge of current coursing through the metal frame.

Three individuals - Urmilaben (25), Laduben (50), and Kajubhai (35) - were electrocuted and pronounced dead at the scene. The remaining six passengers, Baliben, Nareshbhai, Suramji, Sukhiben, and Rudkaju Bhai, sustained varying degrees of burns and were rushed to Viramgam Hospital for treatment.

The severity of the accident was evident, with even the tractor's tires reportedly burnt due to the high voltage discharge. Local authorities, including the Dasada police, Patdi provincial officers, and tehsildar officials, responded promptly and reached the scene to handle the situation. The deceased's bodies were sent to Patdi Government Hospital for post-mortem procedures.

Reports mention that the Sarpanch of Bubwana had previously raised concerns about the low-hanging wires to the Gujarat Power Grid Corporation Limited (PGVCL) but his request reportedly went unaddressed.

Surendranagar (Gujarat), (IANS) Six people were still missing after two vehicles fell into the Bhogavo River in Gujarat's Surendranagar district as an old bridge partially collapsed on Sunday evening, officials said.

The accident occurred when a 40-ton dumper attempted to traverse the bridge near Wadhwan city, despite the prohibition of heavy vehicles.

Despite the presence of warning signs and barricades to restrict heavy vehicle movement, the dumper disregarded these measures, resulting in the partial bridge collapse.

Surendranagar Collector K.C. Sampat said: "A dumper and two motorcycles were on the bridge when its first slab collapsed, leaving four persons with minor injuries. The dumper and motorcycles plunged into the Bhogavo river."

Rescue operations are underway, officials said.

The bridge, which was nearly four decades old, fell under the jurisdiction of the state's Road and Buildings Department. Efforts to request a new bridge had already been initiated.

Surendranagar, April 6 (IANS) The Surendranagar district police on Thursday booked a minor girl, along with her mother, for concealing the birth and death of a baby.

According to sources, the girl was allegedly raped repeatedly by a man in Ahmedabad.

The case came to light when the mother of the girl filed a rape complaint with the police on March 29.

An FIR was filed against the 17-year-old rape survivor and her mother under IPC sections 318 and 114 at a police station in Surendranagar on Tuesday.

The case was registered based on a complaint filed by a deputy superintendent of police (DySP) of Ahmedabad Rural police.

According to the FIR, "The mother, while giving her complaint about the rape of her daughter, didn't disclose that her daughter had also given birth to a baby girl on March 24, 2023, and thus, from the very outset, her intention was to cover up the birth of the baby girl."

The woman had earlier filed a complaint stating that a man repeatedly raped her daughter.

The Ahmedabad police had booked the accused under IPC Section 376(2)(n) for repeatedly raping the minor, under Section 506(2) for threatening the victim, and under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act on March 29. The accused was also booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

During the investigation, police found that the mother had not disclosed that her daughter had given birth to a child as a result of the repeated rapes. She also did not reveal that the accused had given the minor suvivor pills on March 23 to induce an abortion.

The FIR filed at a Surendranagar police station states that the victim gave birth to a baby girl at a primary health centre in Ahmedabad district on March 24.

The victim and her mother then took the newborn to their native village in Surendranagar district, where they buried the baby in a secluded place after she died at around 3 a.m that day.

On learning about the incident, police filed a complaint. For further investigation, the body of the newborn was exhumed on Tuesday after submitting relevant details to the office of the local magistrate.

The mortal remains of the baby were shifted to the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Government Hospital, popularly known as Rajkot Civil Hospital, in Rajkot for a forensic post-mortem.

A family of three, including parents and their daughter, were found dead in the Dudhrej canal of Surendranagar on Friday. The incident is being investigated by the police to determine the cause of the mass suicide.

The fire department was immediately informed of the incident

According to sources, the family jumped into the canal in the morning for unknown reasons. The local people informed the fire department, which immediately dispatched a team to the scene. The police also arrived at the scene shortly after.

The fire brigade team recovered the bodies of the three victims

The Dudhrej fire department team retrieved the bodies of the three victims from the canal and handed them over to the police. The police are now questioning those who knew the family to ascertain the reason for the suicide. The bodies have been taken to the hospital for post-mortem examination.

The cause of the suicide is yet to be determined

The incident has left the local community in shock and disbelief. The police are continuing their investigation to determine why the family decided to end their lives. The tragedy has once again brought attention to the issue of mental health and the need for more awareness and support for those who may be struggling.

Surendranagar (Gujarat), Feb 27 (IANS) Police in Gujarat have launched an investigation into an incident of rape of a toddler's corpse.

The development comes following the registration of a case based on the information provided by the victim's family.

Addressing reporters on Sunday night, Sub-Inspector V.I. Khadia of the Thangadh police said that the family complained that their one-and-a-half-year-old baby girl's body had been exhumed from the grave and they suspected someone to have misbehaved with the body.

After inspecting the body, the Thangadh hospital's primary diagnosis revealed that she had been raped.

The police have sent the body to Rajkot for a forensic post-mortem.

According to the victim's family, since birth, the toddler had a heart problem and was under treatment. On February 25, she died, after which family members, as per tradition, buried her in the child's cemetery.

The Police Station Officer said if the FSL report confirms, a rape complaint will be registered under IPC Section 377 for committing rape on a dead body.

Surendranagar: Silver valued at Rs 3 crore was looted from a vehicle carrying the booty on the Ahmedabad Rajkot Highway on Saturday.

Surendranagar District Superintendent of Police Pratap Dudhat told media persons, "An angadia pedhi (traditional courier service) employee and its driver were carrying silver and imitation jewellery in a four-wheeler to Ahmedabad, when robbers in four vehicles intercepted their vehicle and looted the booty."

On getting information, 15 police teams were dispatched to all district and state highways leading to Surendranagar, and all vehicles passing through it were being thoroughly checked.

An Angadia Pedhi employee informed the police that 1,000 to 1,400 kg silver was looted.

Rajkot, 13th February 2023: The long-awaited double track work between Rajkot-Surendranagar railway line has finally come to fruition, as trains have begun running on both tracks. This Rs.1 crore project has been in the works for the last six years and has been completed successfully. The completion of the double track opens up the possibility of extending trains from Ahmedabad to Rajkot and the allotment of new trains in the region.

As the work on the international airport in Rajkot nears completion, the city is set to become a hub for air and rail services by next June. The completion of the double track has also resolved the issue of railway crossings, which previously caused delays for trains running between Rajkot-Surendranagar. Passengers can now reach Ahmedabad 30 minutes earlier by train, as trains will no longer face the problem of crossing and will run smoothly on the double track.

The electric line of the railway track between Rajkot-Surendranagar is also being worked upon and is expected to be completed by June 2023. This will further improve the rail facilities for Saurashtrian passengers and connect them to other states in the country. The new schedule of trains will soon be released at the Rajkot railway station, with the possibility of trains from Ahmedabad extending to Rajkot and new trains arriving in the region.

The completion of the double track work is a significant step forward for the development of rail facilities in the Rajkot division and will greatly benefit passengers travelling between Rajkot and Ahmedabad.
