72 fishermen from Valsad and Navsari districts, stranded amid escalating war-like conditions between Iran and the US, have returned safely to their homeland. With the efforts of the Indian government, all the fishermen were first brought to Chennai Airport, from where they were transported to the Valsad Circuit House by two buses.

Upon their arrival in Valsad on Monday morning, the fishermen received a grand welcome. Gujarat government cabinet minister Kanubhai Desai, MLA Bharatbhai Patel, district collector Bhavya Verma, and several officials were present during the event. As soon as they returned home, the fishermen raised slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and became emotional upon reuniting with their families.

According to reports, these fishermen had gone to Iran for employment and had been stranded there since February 28 due to war-like conditions. As the situation worsened, they made a video pleading for help, prompting the administration to take action. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the efforts of External Affairs Minister S.

Jaishankar, discussions were held with the Iranian government to ensure their safe return. Fisherman Rajeshbhai Patel mentioned that during the bombing, their boat's GPS system had failed, and they were forced to stay in a room in fear for a month. With the airport closed, there was no hope of returning, but with the help of the Indian government, they were safely evacuated.

After arriving in India from Iran, Union Minister Piyush Goyal also welcomed them at Chennai Airport. This successful rescue operation not only demonstrates the government's promptness but also exemplifies its commitment to citizens in times of crisis.

Navsari, May 11 — Police have arrested a doctor, a nurse, and a hospital manager in Gujarat’s Navsari district in connection with the death of a school principal, allegedly due to medical negligence during treatment at a private hospital. The arrests were made following an investigation report submitted by the Navsari Civil Hospital's inquiry committee.

As per agency report, Arjun Rathod, 54, was admitted to Damania Hospital on November 6, 2024, after sustaining injuries from a fall at home. He underwent orthopedic surgery and was later shifted to the hospital's intensive care unit. During his ICU stay, the attending physician, Dr. Bharat Nayak, reportedly instructed nurse Nirali Nayak to administer 0.4 ml of a medication identified as 'Termine injection'.

According to the police, the patient’s condition deteriorated sharply after the injection, with a significant drop in blood pressure and oxygen levels, ultimately resulting in his death.

Navsari Deputy Superintendent of Police B.V. Gohil confirmed that the three accused — Dr. Bharat Nayak, nurse Nirali Nayak, and hospital manager Imesh Gandhi — were found responsible in the inquiry committee’s findings. They were arrested on May 10 under charges including culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

An FIR was registered at Gandevi police station, and investigations are currently ongoing to determine the full scope of liability in the case.

Navsari: A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday morning in the Purna River near Dharagiri village of Navsari district, resulting in the death of a woman and the disappearance of a young man who tried to rescue her. Four women had gone to the riverbank to wash clothes when one of them accidentally ventured into deeper waters and began to drown.

In an attempt to save her, the other three women also entered the river but soon found themselves in danger. Nearby fishermen, witnessing the incident, acted swiftly and managed to rescue three of the women using fishing nets. Unfortunately, one woman could not be saved and was pulled from the river in a lifeless state.

Amid the chaos, a young man, said to be the brother-in-law of the deceased woman, jumped into the river in an attempt to save her. However, the strong current carried him away, and he has remained missing since.

As per agency report, search and rescue operations are currently underway, with local police and disaster response teams deployed at the scene to locate the missing youth. The body of the deceased woman has been sent to Navsari Civil Hospital for postmortem, after which it will be handed over to the family.

The quick response by the fishermen helped avert an even greater tragedy, and their efforts have been widely praised by the local community.

Navsari, March 8 – Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked International Women’s Day by interacting with ‘Lakhpati Didis’ in Gujarat’s Navsari on Saturday. He was accompanied by Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Paatil. The event aimed to celebrate the achievements of self-reliant women and highlight their contributions to economic empowerment.

During the program, PM Modi personally engaged with ten selected Lakhpati Didis and honored five of them with certificates, acknowledging their inspirational journey. As per agency reports, he praised their efforts in uplifting thousands of women across the country through their entrepreneurial ventures. The Lakhpati Didis shared their experiences with the Prime Minister, discussing how they overcame challenges and became financially independent. Modi commended their commitment to social and economic empowerment, urging them to continue inspiring other women.

The Prime Minister is also scheduled to attend the Lakhpati Didi Sammelan at Vansi-Borsi, where he will distribute financial assistance exceeding ₹450 crore to over 2.5 lakh women from 25,000 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) across Gujarat. A documentary showcasing the success of the Lakhpati Didi Yojana in the state will also be presented.

The Lakhpati Didi Sammelan is expected to witness the participation of nearly one lakh women from Navsari, Valsad, and Dang districts. Most of these women are either members of SHGs who have achieved Lakhpati Didi status or aspire to do so.

Following the event, a public ceremony will be held where PM Modi will launch two major state-level initiatives—G-Safal and G-Maitri. These schemes aim to uplift marginalized women and promote rural entrepreneurship. Over the next five years, they are expected to benefit 50,000 families holding Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) cards across two aspirational districts and 13 identified talukas in Gujarat.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ program in Gujarat’s Navsari on Saturday, marking International Women’s Day. The event, expected to witness the participation of over 1.1 lakh women, will be held in Vansi-Borsi and will be entirely managed by female police personnel and staff.

As per reports, this initiative is being hailed as a milestone in policing, as every aspect of law enforcement and event management will be handled exclusively by women officers. Navsari, June 22 — In a heart-wrenching yet inspiring turn of events, 12-year-old Anya Dagaya, daughter of Haresh Kumar Dagaya, suffered a severe head injury after falling down the stairs. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals at INS Plus Hospital in Navsari, Anya was declared brain dead.

The organization Donate Life quickly mobilized, reaching out to Anya’s family to discuss the possibility and significance of organ donation. Haresh Kumar, Anya’s father, along with her mother Dakshaben and maternal uncle Yogesh Rathod, were informed about the process and its potential to save lives. In a profound gesture, Haresh Kumar said, “We believe that organ donation is a divine act. Our daughter’s body is about to turn to ashes, please go ahead and donate all her organs to give a new life to those in need.”

Anya’s father runs a pharmaceutical distributorship named India Chemist in Navsari, while her mother is a homemaker. Anya was a Class VIII student at Divine International School.

Giving a New Lease of Life

Anya’s heart was donated to a 29-year-old woman from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, and was successfully transplanted in Ahmedabad. The heart was transported from INS Plus Hospital in Navsari to Surat Airport via a green corridor and then airlifted to UN Mehta Hospital in Ahmedabad.

Additionally, Anya's kidneys, liver, and pancreas were donated to five other patients, providing them with a new lease on life. This event marked the 52nd heart donation organized by Donate Life. A green corridor was also established from INS Plus Multi Specialty Hospital, Navsari to IKDRC in Ahmedabad, ensuring timely transportation of the organs with the support of local police across various cities and villages in Gujarat.

A heart-wrenching incident unfolded at the renowned Dandi sea in Navsari on Sunday, as 7 members of a Rajasthani family from Navatlav village encountered a fatal mishap while enjoying a day out. The family had ventured into the sea for a refreshing bath, but the outing turned into a nightmare when 7 individuals found themselves struggling in deep waters.

Immediate action was taken by bystanders and on-duty Home Guard personnel, resulting in the successful rescue of 3 family members. However, 4 individuals, including Taruni Durga (17 years) and Yuvraj (20 years) from Lochda village, Bhilwara, Rajasthan, Deshraj (15 years) from Lochra village, Bhilwara, Rajasthan, and Sushilaben (38 years) from Nava Talav village, Navsari, are still missing.

Jalalpore police swiftly arrived at the scene and joined forces with local swimmers and home guards to scour the area for any signs of the missing individuals. Despite exhaustive efforts lasting late into the evening, there has been no trace of the four missing family members.

This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder for beachgoers to exercise utmost caution, particularly during the summer season. Authorities advise against venturing into deep waters without proper swimming skills and urge vigilance, especially when children are present. The police have issued a plea to all tourists to remain cautious and prioritize safety while enjoying the coastal areas.

A leisurely Sunday outing turned tragic for three families from Khadsupa as seven members were swept away while bathing in the Dandi sea. The incident, which occurred amidst a bustling crowd, prompted swift action from the police, Home Guard, and bystanders.

As the families enjoyed the sea, seven individuals found themselves battling strong waves. The distress calls alerted those on the shore, leading to a rescue operation. While Vipul Halpati, Rakesh, and Atish were successfully rescued, Durga, Yuvraj, and two others remain missing, presumed to have been carried further into the sea.

The local administration and fire brigade joined the search efforts, deploying boats and divers to locate the missing individuals. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the sea's unpredictable nature, urging caution and vigilance, especially during crowded beach outings.

Surat – On the final day for filing nominations for the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP State President C.R. Patil were in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. Patil chose the auspicious Vijay Muhurta to file his nomination from the Navsari seat.

In a notable gesture of sportsmanship, both Patil and Congress candidate Naishadh Desai met at the Collector's office in Navsari. Desai approached Patil and exchanged a few words, which led to a friendly exchange between the two candidates. After filing his nomination, Desai expressed his best wishes for Patil, and in return, Patil reciprocated the sentiment.

Desai, the Congress candidate, made a symbolic appearance at the Collector's office, dressed in Khadi attire reminiscent of Mahatma Gandhi, with a bald head, a stick in his hand, and wearing slippers, paying homage to the Father of the Nation. In a significant development, the construction of PM Mitra Park in Vansi Borsi, Navsari, is well underway, with the added achievement of receiving environmental clearance in just six months. The Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) has commenced road construction within the park and plans to begin the remaining work post the Lok Sabha elections.

Once completed, PM Mitra Park will stand out as the only park in India equipped to treat polluted water from industries before releasing it into the sea, located 12 kilometers away. The park will also house other essential facilities, including a common boiler for industries, aiming to streamline operations and reduce logistics costs for industrialists.

Spread across 1,000 acres, the park will integrate all components of the textile industry, from yarn manufacturing to dye-printing, and value addition units. The GIDC has cleared the land by removing bushes and shrubs, and with the environmental clearance in hand, the construction of a 5-kilometer road has commenced within the park.

GIDC's process for obtaining environmental clearance involves a detailed study report on the park's environmental impact, covering air, water, and land aspects. Additionally, reports on nearby villages, population, employment opportunities, and road conditions are submitted to the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority. Following a public hearing, if no objections are raised, the committee grants the environmental clearance, marking a crucial step in the realization of PM Mitra Park's vision.
