Pithoragarh (Uttarakhand), June 3. The attraction of devotees and tourists towards the sacred Adi Kailash and Om Mountain Yatra located in the border district of Pithoragarh is continuously increasing.

Within just 33 days of the journey starting, a record of 30,016 Inner Line Permits has been issued this year. According to the district administration, a total of 30,016 Inner Line Permits have been issued as of June 2. On June 2 alone, 1,178 permits were issued.

The journey commenced on May 1 with the opening of the doors of the Shiva temple near Parvati Kund in Jolikong. According to statistics, 29,352 Inner Line Permits were issued during the entire travel season in 2024, and 36,526 in 2025. Therefore, crossing the 30,000 mark in just 33 days this year is seen as a clear indication of the growing faith and popularity of the journey.

According to the district administration, approximately 28,000 devotees and tourists visited Adi Kailash and Om Mountain between May 1 and 31, which shows an increase of more than 150 percent compared to the previous year. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Adi Kailash in October 2023 and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's yoga practice here in June 2024, this spiritual site has gained a new national identity. Since then, the number of devotees and nature lovers coming from across the country has been continuously increasing.

District Magistrate Ashish Bhattgai stated that the Adi Kailash Yatra has emerged as an important means of employment for the people of the border area. The promotion of tourism-based activities has strengthened the local economy, and the increase in employment opportunities in border villages is also helping to curb migration. The administration has appealed to travelers to carry necessary documents before coming for the journey, obtain weather information, and ensure safe travel by following the administration's guidelines.

The launch event, held on 9 May 2026 at Title Waves, brought together members of the literary and entertainment communities, celebrating a dream that took decades to become reality. While the evening marked the official release of When A Met B, the conversations that followed have largely centred around Bhattacharya's story of resilience, sacrifice, and determination.

For many in the television industry, Bhattacharya is best known as the producer of Amanat, one of Zee TV's most successful family dramas. Running from 1997 to 2002, the serial became a household name and played an important role in shaping the family-drama format that dominated Indian television for years.

However, behind that professional success was a personal journey that remained largely away from public attention.Following the loss of close family members and the untimely passing of her brother, television producer-director Sanjiv Bhattacharya, she assumed responsibility for raising his two young sons. At the same time, she stepped in to manage ongoing television productions including Amanat and Challenge. The responsibilities left little room for personal ambitions. Her dream of becoming an author was quietly set aside as family took priority.

Today, the release of When A Met B represents much more than a literary milestone. It symbolises the fulfilment of a dream she refused to abandon despite years of challenges and responsibilities.Readers have responded positively to the novel's relatable themes, which include workplace relationships, emotional growth, friendships, ambition, and the realities of modern professional life. The story has particularly connected with young professionals who identify with its exploration of office dynamics and personal aspirations.

At the same time, older readers have found themselves drawn to the nostalgic undertones within the narrative, reflecting values, emotions, and experiences familiar to those who grew up in the 1990s.Industry observers note that Bhattacharya's transition from television producer to published author feels like a natural extension of her long-standing relationship with storytelling. Her body of work extends beyond television. Her short film Ten Past Twelve won the Critics Award at Manhattan Shorts India and received the Best Story Award at the Navi Mumbai Short Film Festival. Another production, Madhab, had its World Premiere at the Woodstock Film Festival in New York.

The launch event was attended by notable personalities including Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, Arif Zakaria, and moderator Harry Anand, all of whom acknowledged her contribution to storytelling and celebrated her achievement.

When A Met B has been published by India’s leading traditional publishing brand Anecdote Publishing House, marking a significant chapter in Sapna Bhattacharya's creative journey and bringing her long-awaited literary dream to readers across the country.

As discussions surrounding the book continue to grow, one message remains at the heart of her story: dreams may be delayed by life's responsibilities, but they are never truly out of reach.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], June 01: With the opening of Foreign Direct Investments allowed in the Legal Sector by the Government of India and approval by the Bar Council of India, many law firms are going global.

It is important that due to globalization, the integration of the Indian economy with the global markets through trade liberalization and foreign investments will enable Indian corporates to grow globally. But FDI in the Legal Sector is completely a game changer.

Recently, one of the oldest law firms of the United Kingdom, Child and Child, which was established in the 1850s in London, had a tie-up and understanding with the Indian law firm SolicisLex based in Mumbai. This entails the exchange of legal work across borders in Europe, the UK, and CIS countries, exchange of legal interns for training, expansion of work in the non-litigation sector of legal work, and many more.

Hence, Child and Child announced their India Desk and their new partnership with renowned Indian law firm SolicisLex, which entails that SolicisLex also gets access at the heart of London. Child & Child serves both UK-based and global clients, as well as many with business and personal interests that span multiple jurisdictions.

With an increasing number of Indian nationals working and living in the UK, as well as those based abroad who are actively investing in the UK, Child and Child also decided to launch a dedicated India desk to meet their needs.

They established Italian and Middle East desks already, which makes it both easy and effective for these groups to access the UK legal market, with native speakers and dual-qualified lawyers facilitating communication and anticipating the differences between the UK and other legal jurisdictions. The India Desk will provide the same strategic support, ensuring a seamless experience for clients with personal, commercial, or investment interests in the UK.

“SolicisLex Advisory is an established powerhouse in the dynamic Indian legal market,” says Child & Child Managing Partner Adrian Biles. “We wanted to not only provide a London-based service for our clients but also work closely with a partner in India. SolicisLex Advisory is one of the top fifteen Indian law firms, with a client base and focus on excellence that matches Child & Child. We look forward to a productive and long partnership.”

SolicisLex Managing Partner Ameet Mehta adds: “With the approval of Entry of Foreign Law Firms in India by the Bar Council of India and the Union Government’s approval, we pledge to strike a balance in strategic leadership, profitability, people management, but also maintaining market share. By fostering alignments with leaders like Child & Child, we wish to keep ourselves at pace with market leaders. This is our overall firm strategy.”

Palampur (Himachal Pradesh) [India], May 29: An inspiring seminar was organized at the auditorium of Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSKHPKV) on the theme “Healthy Farming, Healthy Nation – The Road Ahead in India.”

During the event, Chairman of the Niche Group, Harisharan Devgan, stated that chemical-based farming is gradually destroying the fertility of soil, and the only sustainable path forward is to return to organic and natural farming practices. He urged students to feel proud of calling themselves farmers and encouraged them to adopt Artificial Intelligence (AI) to make agriculture self-reliant and future-ready.

At the same time, he revealed that Niche Agriculture and Pharmaceuticals Limited (NAPL) is working on affordable medicines for diseases such as cancer, epilepsy, and Alzheimer’s. Hundreds of PhD scholars were also interviewed and selected for opportunities during the event.

Nestled amidst the beauty of nature, the auditorium of CSKHPKV transformed into far more than a venue that day — it became a witness to a dream where the fragrance of soil turns into medicine, and where the hands of farmers weave hope for cancer patients. Renowned agripreneur and Chairman of Niche Group, Harisharan Devgan, addressed agriculture students with visionary ideas capable of reshaping the future of Indian agriculture and healthcare. It was not merely a seminar, but a historic moment scripting the future of India.

The university had organized the seminar under the theme “Healthy Farming, Healthy Nation – The Road Ahead in India.” Harisharan Devgan attended as the chief guest and explained how agriculture can uplift not only farmers, but eventually strengthen the nation itself.

Harisharan Devgan – A Voice for Farmers

Speaking from the stage, Harisharan Devgan emphasized that he is not just an industrialist, but a farmer by heart and soul. Proudly calling himself the son of a farmer, he reflected on his own journey that began nearly 20 years ago with organic pomegranate cultivation in Andhra Pradesh.

Addressing the students like members of his own family, he said:

“Farming is not just a profession; it is our greatest responsibility toward nature and society. The blind race of chemical farming has destroyed our soil. We must return to organic and natural farming.”

Devgan personally manages a large gaushala housing thousands of cows, where organic manure is prepared from cow dung and natural pesticides are made using cow urine. Through these practices, he believes not only the soil but society itself can remain healthy and alive.

He explained the advantages of natural farming, highlighting that it not only protects soil health but also reduces production costs and increases farmers’ income. He urged students to reconnect with the soil from this very moment and reminded them that there should never be shame in proudly calling oneself a farmer.

He remarked:

“Today many people become organic farmers only because it looks fashionable. But if you truly want to turn soil into gold, you must dedicate yourself fully and endure hardships with commitment.”

Harisharan Devgan further encouraged students to look at agriculture beyond simply producing grains, vegetables, or fruits. According to him, farming today must evolve from basic production to processing and global marketing.

“We cannot move forward by merely growing crops. We must process them, build brands, and take them to corporate markets and international platforms.”

Responding to a student’s question, he emphasized that anyone planning to establish a successful agricultural company must carefully study both the previous five years’ weather patterns and forecasts for the next five years.

“Young entrepreneurs should never start a business with half knowledge, but with complete preparation and understanding.”

He added:

“Until you help yourself, nobody else — not even the government — can truly help you.”

According to him, becoming a company owner from being a farmer is not impossible; it simply requires the right direction and consistent hard work.

AI and the Future of Agriculture

While answering a question regarding Artificial Intelligence, Harisharan Devgan explained that AI is not an enemy. However, if people fail to adapt to it, it could become one.

He stated that AI can help individuals become self-reliant and complete tasks that traditionally take days within minutes. He encouraged every farmer to use AI tools and advised small farmers to work collectively in clusters while adopting technology to improve productivity and decision-making.

He warned:

“If we fail to adopt AI today, we will once again return to the same cycle of protests, frustration, and dependence on government support.”

Niche Group’s Fight Against Incurable Diseases

From the same platform, Harisharan Devgan also revealed that Niche Group is not limited to farming alone, but is courageously working in the pharmaceutical sector to combat serious diseases.

He announced:

“Niche Agriculture and Pharmaceuticals Limited (NAPL) is working on treatments for several diseases that financially destroy poor families.”

This is not merely a vision. The company is actively collaborating with the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) on hemp pharmaceuticals research. Through this partnership, advanced hemp-based treatments are being developed to provide relief and hope to patients suffering from chronic illnesses.

Devgan emotionally stated:

“Poor people do not die because of disease; they die because of hospital bills.”

He further explained that the company also aims to invest heavily in renewable energy and biofuels.

Opportunities for Young Researchers

Another remarkable aspect of the event was the large-scale selection process conducted for PhD scholars. Hundreds of researchers from across the country lined up to meet experts from the Niche Group and secure opportunities in agriculture and biotechnology.

At the beginning of the seminar, the university’s Vice Chancellor remarked:

“Entrepreneurs like Harisharan Devgan are a source of inspiration for students. They have not come merely to deliver lectures, but to personally select students. This represents one of the strongest bridges between industry and education.”

Supreme Court advocate Shabanand Dalei and Adarsh Singh were also present during the seminar, while Dr. Deshraj Chaudhary concluded the event with a vote of thanks.

India’s Golden Future

By the conclusion of the seminar, the entire atmosphere had transformed into one filled with confidence, determination, and hope. Harisharan Devgan, whose family has a long-standing legacy connected to agriculture, demonstrated that India possesses immense untapped strength within its agricultural roots.

While Niche Group continues exporting fruits and contributing to the “Make in India” vision, it is simultaneously investing in disease research, creating employment opportunities for talented youth, educating farmers about advanced technology, and supporting India’s self-reliance in solar and clean energy sectors.

Niche Group’s Contributions to Society

Niche Group has emerged as a leading force in organic farming and pharmaceutical innovation aimed at making treatment affordable and accessible for the underprivileged. The organization has also contributed significantly to education by adopting an entire school.

Additionally, the group continues research and investment in renewable energy, biofuels, water conservation, and farmer welfare initiatives to secure sustainable resources for future generations.

The journey of Harisharan Devgan teaches us that unwavering determination can overcome even the greatest challenges. It stands as a powerful example of how one clear vision and one strong resolve can strengthen the backbone of an entire nation.

While addressing the tribal cultural gathering named 'Tu-Main Ek Rakt, Vanvasi-Gramvasi-Nagarvasi, Hum Sab Bharatvasi' at the historic Ramleela Maidan, he mentioned that this gathering would be known as the 'Mahakumbh' of tribes for years to come.

He expressed that he had never seen God Birsa Munda in his life, but today he felt his presence among them. Shah emphasized that the framers of the Constitution granted every individual the right to live with self-respect in their original religion and that no one would be forced to change their religion through temptation. He called for taking an oath to protect their religion from the land of Delhi, which would keep them connected to their culture and country.

Shah welcomed all the brothers and sisters from the Bhil and Munda communities of Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat, the Gond and Kolam communities of Chhattisgarh, the Santhal and Uraon communities of Jharkhand and Odisha, the Bodo, Karbi, Dimasa, Khasi, Garo, and Chakma communities of the Northeast, and the Chenchu communities of Andhra Pradesh. He expressed deep gratitude to both organizations for giving him the opportunity to witness this wonderful event in his lifetime. He noted that this year marks the 150th anniversary of God Birsa Munda.

He stated that water, forests, and mountains are the sources of livelihood for their tribal brothers and serve as an impregnable fortress that protects their identity and culture. Shah remarked that if there is a sustainable model in the world today, it is the model created by our tribal communities, and they have come forward to protect it. All tribes have worked to realize the mantra of 'Unity in Diversity' without any written rules.

He recalled that thousands of years ago, in the Treta Yuga, Lord Ram made it clear by eating the leftover berries of Shabari that we are all one. He stated that today's gathering and the millions of tribal people present send a strong message to those who seek to divide. Shah mentioned that a conspiracy has begun regarding the UCC, claiming it would deprive tribal people of their culture, traditions, customs, and right to live.

As the Home Minister of the Narendra Modi government, he clarified that no restrictions of the UCC would be imposed on the tribal community or individuals. The UCC would not violate any tribal rights. He noted that the UCC has been implemented in two states where the Bharatiya Janata Party is in power, specifically Gujarat and Uttarakhand, with special provisions ensuring that all tribal communities are excluded from the UCC.

He urged everyone to return to their villages, mountains, and forests and inform all tribal communities that there is no need to fear the UCC. The organizers presented this event as a cultural expression of tribal identity and 'national unity,' with the slogan 'Tu Main Ek Rakt, Vanvasi-Gramvasi-Nagarvasi, Hum Sab Bharatvasi.' An official from JSM mentioned that participants were expected to come in traditional attire from various parts of the country, while volunteers in Delhi arranged housing, food, transportation, and medical facilities through 20 different committees. On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of God Birsa Munda, tribal communities from all corners of the country arrived in traditional attire and participated in a procession showcasing folk culture.

This gathering was organized by the Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram, affiliated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which raised several sensitive issues. The most significant issue discussed was conversion. Participants from the tribal community expressed that some individuals continue to benefit from tribal reservations even after converting, leaving the original tribal society feeling cheated.

Additionally, issues such as fake Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificates, encroachment on tribal lands, and so-called 'Love Jihad' and 'Land Jihad' were raised. The organizers stated that some foreign forces and missionary organizations are attempting to separate tribal people from their cultural identity.

It’s my personal goal to bring technology and books directly to them so they can dream big and achieve their goals. In the future, I want to open more Free digital libraries across India.”

The initiative reflects an effort to strengthen grassroots education by creating accessible learning spaces for students in underserved regions. This digital library at Vaidpura is envisioned as a replicable model for rural education access across the country, one that holistically bridges gaps in exposure, connectivity, infrastructure, and resources, and demonstrates that a single individual, driven by the right intent, can potentially become a turning point for an entire generation of students regardless of their background.

However, many students still remain confused because most information available online is either overly promotional or incomplete. Among the universities gaining attention in 2026 is MIT University Sikkim, especially among students looking for modern, skill-based, and industry-focused education.

Vocational and Work Integrated Learning Programs (WILP) Becoming the New Future of Higher Education

Education experts believe Vocational and Work Integrated Learning Programs (WILP) are becoming far more career-focused than many traditional online and distance education models. Modern industries now prefer students with practical skills, internship exposure, live project experience, and real workplace understanding instead of only theoretical learning.

Unlike old-style distance education trends, Vocational and WILP programs focus on:

Practical training

Industry exposure

Skill development

Live projects

Internship opportunities

Career readiness

Experts say companies today increasingly value employability and practical competency, which is why industry-oriented education models are growing rapidly under NEP 2020 and Skill India initiatives.

MIT University Sikkim is among the universities focusing strongly on NEP 2020-based curriculum, Vocational education, and Work Integrated Learning Programs (WILP) designed around modern industry demands in fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, and Business Analytics.

Education analysts also clarify that NAAC is mainly a quality assessment system, while the legal validity of a university depends on UGC recognition. MIT University Sikkim is recognised under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, and experts say its degrees remain valid for higher education and employment opportunities as per applicable regulations.

Students today are increasingly choosing universities that focus on future careers, practical learning, and industry readiness rather than only traditional classroom-based education models.

UGC Recognition and Degree Validity?

One of the most searched questions about MIT University Sikkim is whether the university is officially recognised. According to available information, the university is recognised by the Government of India under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act. Students can independently verify the university listing under the name “Management and Information Technology University” in Sikkim.

Education experts say students should always verify:

Legal recognition

Degree validity

Curriculum quality

Student support systems

Fee transparency

Industry exposure

before taking admission in any university.

Why Does the University’s NAAC Accreditation Matter?

Many students believe NAAC accreditation automatically increases the value of a degree, but education experts clarify that the legal validity of a degree mainly depends on UGC recognition and official government approval.

NAAC is mainly a quality assessment system that evaluates infrastructure, curriculum, teaching standards, governance, and academic systems. Newly established universities usually require operational years or graduating batches before becoming eligible for NAAC accreditation.

Experts also note that universities following NEP 2020 guidelines already work on many academic quality standards related to curriculum structure, vocational learning, skill-based education, internships, industry exposure, and student support systems that are also important parts of NAAC compliance.

Education analysts say many universities significantly increase their fee structures after receiving NAAC accreditation because of infrastructure expansion, branding, and operational costs. However, the legal validity of degrees remains the same for universities officially recognised under UGC regulations.

MIT University Sikkim, recognised under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, is currently focusing on NEP 2020-based curriculum, vocational education, WILP programs, practical learning, internships, and industry-oriented education while progressing toward future NAAC accreditation eligibility.

Currently, only around 40% of universities and less than 20% of colleges in India hold NAAC accreditation, while the new education framework aims to expand accreditation coverage across the higher education sector.

Why Students Shift Towards Skill-Based and Industry-Focused Education?

Education experts believe student priorities are changing rapidly in 2026. Instead of focusing only on old university branding or infrastructure, students are now comparing institutions based on employability, internships, practical learning, and industry-linked curriculum.

MIT University Sikkim is promoting a practical education model that includes:

Mandatory internships

Live industry projects

Workshops and certifications

Industry exposure

Skill-based learning

NEP 2020-focused curriculum

The university is particularly focusing on emerging sectors such as Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, and Data Analytics, areas where hiring demand in India is expected to remain strong during FY 2026–27.

Why No Placement Records Yet?

Placement remains an important factor for students and parents. However, education experts explain that MIT University Sikkim admitted its first batch recently, so no graduating batch has completed studies yet. Experts say placement data before graduation would not present a realistic picture.

Instead, students are advised to evaluate the university’s career preparation system, including internships, mentorship, industry exposure, certifications, and project-based learning. The university is focusing on making students job-ready from the beginning through practical and skill-based education models.

Leadership and Academic Background: Attracting Student Attention

Education analysts say the leadership behind MIT University Sikkim is also becoming a major discussion point among students. Vice Chancellor Dr. Deepak Kher reportedly brings more than 36 years of academic experience, along with extensive research and institutional development work.

The educational ecosystem associated with the university also claims a 17-year background in higher education guidance and career mentorship. According to available information, students linked with this broader educational network have reportedly secured opportunities in companies such as Amazon, Google, TCS, Deloitte, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, and Cognizant.

Experts believe mentorship systems, industry exposure, and long-term career guidance are becoming increasingly important for students selecting modern universities in 2026.

Emerging as a Preferred Education Destination

MIT University, located in Namchi, South Sikkim, is attracting students from states including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, and West Bengal.

Education experts believe many students and parents now prefer peaceful academic environments with lower living costs instead of highly crowded metro cities. Lower expenses, safer surroundings, and distraction-free learning environments are becoming important factors influencing admission decisions.

Reports suggest the university received strong inquiry numbers shortly after opening admissions for the 2026 academic session, reflecting growing interest in modern universities offering industry-oriented education and affordable academic ecosystems.

Experts Advise For Students In India

Education experts believe Vocational and Work Integrated Learning Programs (WILP) are becoming more career-focused than traditional online and distance education models because industries now prefer practical skills, internships, and real industry exposure.

MIT University Sikkim is focusing on NEP 2020-based curriculum, vocational education, skill development, and industry-oriented learning in emerging fields like Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, and Cyber Security.

Experts also clarify that NAAC is mainly a quality assessment system, while university degree validity depends on UGC recognition. MIT University Sikkim is recognised under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act, making its degrees valid for higher education and employment opportunities as per applicable regulations.

The BJP government in West Bengal has decided to transfer 27 kilometers of land to the Border Security Force (BSF) to strengthen border security.

Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari announced this during a press conference held at Nabanna on Wednesday, indicating a tough stance against illegal infiltrators. The Chief Minister stated that the state cabinet has approved the proposal for land transfer to the BSF, and the initial phase of providing the 27 kilometers of land will be completed within the next two weeks. He mentioned that the Secretary of Land and Revenue and the Chief Secretary have been tasked with completing the process within 45 days.

Shubhendu Adhikari noted that the India-Bangladesh border is approximately four thousand kilometers long, of which 2200 kilometers lies in West Bengal. He claimed that only 1600 kilometers of the area has been fenced so far, while around 600 kilometers remains unsecured. He alleged that the previous government did not provide the necessary land to the BSF due to political reasons and appeasement policies.

The Chief Minister pointed out that there has been an increase in law and order issues, women's safety, forced conversions, and other criminal activities in border areas, with a significant number of illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators involved. He stated that the state government will now hold regular coordination meetings with the BSF on border security issues. During the press conference, the Chief Minister also mentioned that individuals not covered under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) will be considered illegal infiltrators.

Such individuals will be arrested by the state police and handed over to the BSF, after which the process of deportation will begin. He informed that the central government had sent guidelines to the state last year, which are now being implemented.

The Chief Minister emphasized that this is just the beginning for border security, and further cooperation will be provided to the BSF as needed. During the press conference, BSF officials welcomed the Chief Minister with a memento and a bouquet.
